  1. It sounded from the guard like it was ORDERS, but he didn't know about other consulates. But being ORDERS, I fugure it affects all. Maybe just call and ask them.
  2. Yur not happy there or anything are you Tsaper? ONE YEAR! Geeze time fles. I meant keep the terlet seat out of the projector light in the back of the movie theater............... well or I guess the picture too. But hey, her folks might want to try it too.
  3. Success! Both my documents were ready at 2:30 just like she said. Certified certificate of Certification all complete. That is 3 certs for one document, county, State, & China. Such is international paperwork. I talked with the guard. He said both the same day service, and the expedited service were eleminated August 1. All you can get is 3 day service now. He said people who travel a lot to China and Chinese have told him it is due to the politics of China at this time. When it is all over things should return to normal. So for now fellas, PLAN YOUR TRIPS with any document or visa needing at least 3 days. And like Randy says have all that invite stuff too.... I came to town without a change of clothes, WRONG! (my bowels feel better now too)
  4. Randy your document was ready this morning and I have it. They put a Green visa size label on the backside of the Secretary of State page. So your set. My stuff was not ready because it said something about a copy not full. So, of course they didn't approve either document. I turned it back and they had many people look at it, then they stamped it SAME DAY in red letters after I told her I am leaving tomorrow. I have to pick up at 3. I'm getting pissed, but I told the girl to please approve the one document if they cannot do both, for whatever reason. (I have a feeling I am headed for some trouble in China with a divorce from a Chinese citizen, but will report on this later. Already the consulate is giving me some crap, yet being helpful - confusing. It must be my good looks and charm for all the overcome.) Anyway I did not find out more other than they were delaying all until Wednesday, though you really don't know what they are doing for Chinese passport holders. The girl in window 4 DROP OFF calls people out of the main line in Chinese, before taking others. I asked a lady yesterday and verified today window 4 is just to help them ASAP. It's natural they get first and best service. PS: Dan I wish you luck. I have no idea about other Consulates, but it sounds like some of the ideas here make sense. Maybe I can ask someone, but then again I may be a bit pissed and storm out if turned down again. Maybe my one page, copied from their on line webpage is not printed clear enough as an original, though I did put it in WORD and fill in the blanks. Somehow the letters look a little weird. I am beginning to wonder if that is the issue. Live in learn. At least I made an appointment for the Shanghai US consulate as a fall back. Stress makes my bowels get in an uproar. I am about to visit the WC for the 3rd time. Also I puffed up, which means in a few days, in China, I will be up all night draining down to normal big size. ........ Well, at least I am smaller than a month ago. All my pants and pance are falling off. Cousin's wife picked up my laundry back home. Ahh, overcomes are working.
  5. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  6. I went to the Houston Chinese Consulate Thursday 8-16-12 to get some Authentication of documents to be used in China. Surprisingly there was no RUSH same day service, as in the past. The best they could do was next day after 9: AM and I submitted them by 11:Am today, and the cost will be 25 + 20 expedite. Also had to fill out a new form and trash the old G1. VISA: I overheard several people having to come back on Tuesday to get their VISA to visit China. That is 3 days wait folks! The lady next to me had a guy that was supposed to leave tomorrow, Friday. There was no way they would do it faster, telling several people that policy changed August 1st. Also that they needed the time to verify documents. Everyone seemed surprised and caught off guard. So, don't trust the websites on the US Chinese Embassy or Consulates, unless they have updated them by now. I will try to verify and get more info tomorrow. Note: Just last month, July, I got a full year VISA multi entry RUSH service same day. I brought this up, and she said it changed August 1st. So there it is guys!!!! Plan your trips well.
  7. Fellas, I started something then lost a big bunch of interest and divorced later. When I am up to it and have time, I will try to organize this, like I wanted to originally, so a feller or filly can just take a glance in the first few posts. Had a deal with The Don I believe it was back then. But will talk to you later on that mods... In Plano, TX: Ex likes the store at Legacy and 75. Sometimes uses the 99 store a little further South. I still like the one in Arlington with the old tile on the floor and fish smell. Later.
  8. Either way the visa is designated CR-1 or IR-1 (CR-1 is issued to those married less than 2 years, IR-1 is issued to those married 2 years or more) CCP is not cause for an outright denial of visa, just added processing after interview. Only CCP that would cause a full denial would be active party members (Politicians) If you feel you have developed a strong relationship go for the CR-1, if you feel a red-flag is too strong and have a possible denial then K-1. If were me doing this again I would build a good relationship and do a CR-1, the marriage also may look like a stronger commitment, IMO. Yep doing the marriage thing.........can't believe it, but dang glad I met her, whew. And hope I never lose her. Too good!!!!!!!!! I like this thread. put it in my favorite folder for immigration. THANKS!!!
  9. and don't let that terlet seat get in the picture light back there either. Get off to one side there bud. Glad the green lady is open. When I was there she was off limits.
  10. Has to do with a person who has residency in China as in working in China, if they married and have had residency in China for around 6 months then can file the I-130 to the USCIS office in Guangzhou or Beijing instead of mailing the petition to USCIS in the USA. This is what is called DCF (Direct Consulate Filing). MORE: http://beijing.usemb...d_security.html Well, SHUCKS!!!!!! Well back in the day, wasn't the DCF folks given a different visa designation than CR-1? I guess things change or memory slips. All good info though. If a member of "the party", for work advancement purposes only since she is a civil servant over there, I wonder if I need to consider K-1, then see about CR-1 if rejected. Ahhhh, that shows fear. I guess I plow ahead with CR-1 appraoch then.
  11. What is this 3-4 months if petitions are filled in China for CR-1? I mean so a feller can go over and get married, file everything there, come home and bingo, an interview 3-4 months later for her and child? Then she can be here in say 4 months, if all goes well?????
  12. Only when applying for a visa, you attach a copy of this letter to the visa application. I had to do this once the first time I visited China for a tour, the tour agency emailed me an invite letter along with initiatory which I attached to the visa application, back in 2005. So basically you are saying his present VISA is OK, right? I thought at any time they can revoke a VISA. I doubt they would give notice though. Does Delta know something we don't? I have a year multi entry visa myself I plan on using soon. I got this VISA before August first, back in early July out of Houston.
  13. I got a 1600-1700 or so price from DFW to Shanghai round trip recently on Delta.com I always put my dates as flexible and then find something I can live with.
  14. I flew to China on a Delta 747-400 2 years ago and I have specifically avoided doing so again ever since. Delta inherited their entire 747 fleet from Northwest airlines when they merged and the interiors on those planes were really dated & worn out - economy class did not have personal audio/video systems, instead they were still outfitted with overhead TVs. The good news though is that Delta began retrofitting the interiors of their 747 fleet and the last that I heard was that the retrofitting was scheduled to be completed by the end of this year. So hopefully your flight will be using one of the planes with an updated interior. I hope so to. I went ahead and paid the 160 for the better more roomy seat back there, so I hope it is what I had on those 777s. Will report soon.
  15. So, both boats have a bird. Hope they don't flip.
  16. Wonder how tall they are? And can you turn sideways and bend your knees? Now, I wonder when one will be a rockin? What about climate control? Even alone it might get pretty hot in there.
  17. Just bought tickets today to go back. I have to go through Tokyo outbound, which means I will hate the dang Jap crap food, but thats OK. I'll get to look at ore legs in the airport, and get Chinese on the way back with a direct flight. Going Delta agin with the 500 they gave me last time. Finally I will be on a long flight in a 747, outbound. I have been wanting that my whole life. It is a -400, hope the interior is worth it. Nick I should wind up in Nanning this time. Mr. Terlet Seat Twirler, I will report.
  18. OK, so I will post this over hear as well. I love Delta Airlines after this trip, but summertime near water sucks.. Took a little trip to China, like I promised myself but much sooner than originally planned and for a much different purpose. I had never been to Shanghai, never care to again actually. The Heat and HUMIDITY was like I have never known. I am a Southern boy but that place was unbearable. I didn’t see anything really pretty either and the people didn’t seem happy, but then who would? I tried to tour the next day but cut it short and got out of the place. Had to return to leave and got a pounding sinus headache. A new pill I discovered took that out overnight, with A/C on. I would fly Delta anytime over there now. http://www.chinafamilyvisa.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/plane.gif The cheap seats are very comfortable and when reclined the bottom scoots forward and does not bother my back. They have enough leg room on their 777-200s to make a 13+ hour flight bearable and I felt good after. There are plenty of free documentaries and movies that keep you busy when not sleeping. Food was good if going into China, but if going into Japan it sucked as bad as most all Japanese food does, IMHO. I got a $500 offer, I accepted going over, to go to Tokyo first, but flew back direct from Shanghai to Detroit. Detroit has the skinniest runways I ever landed on, but it worked. Now if a feller were tired and liked Asian girls, Japan would be a fine stopping point, but I flew on of course. Besides I am just too tall for Japan and the food, YUCK. I love the new Chinese trains. If they really go 185mph you don’t feel it getting to speed or slowing down, smoother than a jet ride actually. But they do need SOMETHING to connect train stations with airports!!! The cities going into the interior from there are very nice, clean and new. The sidewalks are much smaller than Beijing, and that works for these places. But the people are relaxed and HAPPY compared to Shanghai and Beijing. Folks seem to know each other in neighborhoods and are very friendly. A girl working in the hotel breakfast bar I ate at everyday stopped when she saw me in the barbershop and sat down beside me briefly to say hello. One of the barbers was very friendly as well as an old man who surprised me he knew English so well for his age. These smaller cities are perhaps a perfect life. http://www.chinafamilyvisa.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/gathering.gif This whole area seems very new. People still get outside in the evenings and dance and play sports and have family time. Kids can walk around by themselves without fear. So nice. My favorite the bicycle taxi not seen this trip, but then I am where I have never been before, is that the reason or everything is just too modern now? Few bicycle riders at all, and even fewer pedestrians any time of day. I saw maybe 2-3 gas powered scooters or motorbikes, whereas last time they were everywhere, what happened? I saw hordes of electric scooters, 3 wheel carts, and other various. Some have removable batteries to take in house for recharge. Most people were driving cars and I never saw a bad traffic jam like I did in Beijing 7 years ago. It is so nice to almost never see a cop. No harassing of the public like we have accepted here in the USA with all the nitpicking we endure. OK I am officially initiated Chinese now. I found myself in a situation where I HAD to use a floor toilet. Where would a thread from me be without a bathroom experience? Anyway, Metformin and Chinese food don’t mix. Besides blood pressure and blood sugar all normal with no meds the whole visit. So I dropped the Met, but before everything cleared I had an urgent need. Thank goodness it was clean, as I practically undressed for this experience. Working on 2 bombers in life must have prepared me, though. My squatting left a lot to be desired so high altitude targeting was PERFECT and hit dead center. Had a package of paper and sure felt better. You know one feels very proud of themselves after accomplishing something that they swore would never be attempted. I can do it. My favorite restaurant was a little food place in a sort of dinky mall. It was a hot skillet with an egg, a steak, and boiled dumplings that fried on the plate giving it a crispy texture like I like. It tasted perfect and not too much. OK so I walked miles every day soaking myself from the heat and humidity, but rain came and made life bearable. This trip I decided to be fashionable as you can see. Color coordinated no? (Ooops this pic won't post, working on it, later) I lost maybe 5-7 pounds but got much stronger in the process. Back home I can tell the difference walking inside the mile long customer factory, and up and down the stairs. People who know me see I am happier and healthier looking. http://www.chinafamilyvisa.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/handy.gif This wasn’t the grand tour I had planned for this summer, but that pales in comparison. It was sure healthy and very worth it. I needed it and getting away from the stress of work and friends and family was great. Besides my 2 kids were traveling July 4 , my cousin up the street already had his summer pool party http://www.chinafamilyvisa.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/fam21.gif , and my B-day was coming up, so I got the heck out of here. The food was GREAT as always. I tried new things too. Like I said in 2000 and 2002 though, one needed to hurry back then to see China before it changed. Well it has changed, a lot, but I like it. Things are still cheaper as a vacation, except maybe the plane tickets at the last minute, but if you like China it is a real treat. PS: Maybe those freezing winter visits I made to China wasn't so bad after all though http://www.chinafamilyvisa.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/cold.gif . Oh, if I had one criticism it would be the one hospital I visited. It was really filthy. You know the floor was even dingy along the edges and out. I can sweep and mop a floor better than that. People have cleaner houses and streets compared to this one. Not sure why they don't raise hell about it. The hospital I saw in Beijing was nice, but not this place. So finally I have seen what some of you have reported. I miss our old Don. He was right, I should return to China, but maybe not to live I think. When I retire, if ever, maybe.
  19. I flew it when it was Continental and it was just Ok back in 2005/6. American was just as bad back then with no leg room in either in the cheap seats. I wonder if that has changed. NOW Delta was fantastic this recent trip I took. The cheap seats have room. The bottom of the seats slide forward as the back reclines. I didn't get a seat in the face from the guy in front and felt OK to recline mine. The plane was packed, but everyone comfortable. Oh and their website worked is the only reason I booked with Delta, as I was in a hurry last few days booking. AA and United both froze up. You know those guys protesting are not thinking it through. The alternative is to fly a plane not up to the job? Thank goodness proper maintenance is a higher priority than irritable passengers. 13 hours of engines running and everything else functioning properly is a real miracle anyway. We have come a long way in aviation, but alternatives on Asian owned airlines is not what I want. 3 days delay for a safe flight is worth it.
  20. So how does this container thing work? They bring it to you and you pack it? Is it on semi wheels or on ship so not much of a slope when moving around?
  21. Some work insurance wants there to be guardianship in place to add the child to yours or her insurance through work. I know of one lady doing this.
  22. Thanks, now I know to ferry items as I travel, rather than ship.
  23. I am no expert here but here are some personal observations that may or may not apply: 27 to 30 somethings. I talked with many. It seems most have been burned by men promising marriage and then the guy marries someone else, usually behind her back, and then one day she discovers the truth and is CRUSHED. Or there is the lady who was a lover of a guy who wanted to marry her but his family did not like her, or she lived too far away and momma wanted her son near by. The result is it leaves them not a virgin and in some cases this is what a successful man wants and maybe his family demands, like a friend of mine over there I worked with. So I found a lot of these gals looking outside of China. Of course some have an attitude that the sex is very much OK and she is open and honest about the maybe 5 lovers in her life but no true love found, except the recent Western married guy who lied that he was single, looking for a good time because he does not get what he wants at home. The guy falls in love with her unexpectedly, and she him, and then one year the wife calls the lady. CRUSHED now. Others do move on and do find husbands and have a child and it seems a healthier attitude, even though this life hands out lots of bumps and bruises. For me, I did notice the nitpicking of little things from almost all of them, like staying up too late when - geez woman I am talking with YOU and trying to get to know YOU, and I'm half way around the world and it is not ideal for either of us, cut some slack huh???. Their schedule does not vary for you - the rules of life are number one. Of course a lot of that could just be me . I had had enough CONTROL from my ex, so I was looking for something quite diff. I understand these young gals attitude of taking care of me, I just did not care for the method. I began to confront some and they backed off, realizing that maybe not all of their standards need to be fulfilled, but I know how that goes. It will come back eventually and haunt me if hooked up with them. (Others don't care how your schedule is affected as long as it does not affect theirs, so not the right one - move on.) The sensible ones who are the best realize there is too muc age diff. in my case. Some ladies are carrying a lot of baggage inside. The lost love, and abortions along the way with whoever. Lot of deep trauma with some, though they hold some high position professional jobs. I am not saying all are like this, just what I discovered story after story told to me. All have been burned, except the 47 year old virgin who seems too scared to let herself be burned, and she quit her job because of a boss she feared wanted to sleep with her for promotion - still does not work.
  24. I would file joint on taxes, and did. I had her sign the 1040 even though it was not filled out, on a visit to China. I never did get any amount from her on earnings. What ever it was wasn't much anyway.
  25. Where does the electronic filing come into play?
