It sounds typical of the PRC and US governments - we get mad at each other, pass a law/issue a decree, hold a press conference.... and then it'll probably be same old/same old at the Embassey/Consulates when we go get Visas.

I called the State Dept this morning. Gave then mY GUZ# and found that the # and name were entered, but nothing else - anybody have an idea what might be going on? THANKS!!

On a side note about OUR GOVERNMENT.... a LARGE inscription on the IRS building says: TAXES ARE WHAT WE PAY FOR A FREE SOCIETY. So that's why we pay taxes!

Here in Virginia, you go to the County Clerk of the Court and file for a name change, which is then done in Circuit Court. It is a simple motion. For you, it will probably be in your Parish. Your local Clerk of the Court or Court Clerk (Parish Court Clerk?) should be able to give you a form, the cost and help you with the procedure. Not a big deal. On the 129F and the 325a - What documents do I have to submit with the 129F and the 134? Which documents will have to be translated from Chinese to English? Is an official IRS transcript of my tax returns (for 3 yrs.) OK for the I134 or should I send in copies of my 1040's? Is one better than the other? Thanks!

I am excited - I'm leaving 12/20 to spend the holidays with Sarah in Nanjing - I'm now inside 2 months before I leave. 1. I am taking the 129-f and the biograhic info form with me. Are there any other papers I should take? 2. Should I take any of my notarized documents with me? 3. I want to take some of my documents that she will need at the interview. Will it be a problem to take documents dated Nov 2003 when the 129-f will be dated Jan 2004? WIll the "out-of-synch dates be a problem in GZ? 4. Is there a list/website to help me do the 129-f and the biograhic info "right?" I appreciate the help. I sure is nice to get help! THANKS!!!!!!!!!!! Jeff
