  1. Or, if you ever thought about another woman when you were in it.... Or, if another woman may have thought about you in it.... Or, if you want HER in it..... GET A NEW BED!!! Listen to these two advice. Red sheets and new bed. Also about the roses: One rose represents that 'you are my only love'; two, 'only we two in the world'; three, the three moving words 'I love you'; and nine, 'everlasting love' The USA traditional dozen roses means nothing. I would go with 3 or 9 roses and tell her Wo Ai Ni when you give them to her. Best of luck and glad to hear you are almost there!! You are wrong. A dozen roses has alot of meaning. The number twelve has alot of meaning to begin with. Need I explain them to you? And it's not an American tradition but a tradition going back to the Victorian Era of the United Kingdom. But just to give you a little hint, giving a lady that you love a dozen roses is saying, "I love you every month of the year!"...
  2. My wife uses one but she doesn't call it a vacuum, or a vacuum cleaner. She calls it a "dust-catcher". She has me calling it a dust-catcher now.
  3. That's really good news! I know you're excited and you have a right to be. Anticipation rules!......... Flowers are a good idea but don't worry about to much. Your wife will know what to do. Just make her feel at home. Be reserved but show her around and make her feel comfortable. Again,,, great news! I'm happy for you. Now go have fun!...........
  4. I think it was samsong who reported that his single certificate had been signed by Colin Powell (as US Secretary of State at the time), but I think that step is no longer necessary - that it just goes to your state gov. Wow! That would be really cool! It's probably auto-pinned though. Regardless, I think that's kind of neat. Yeah, it was pretty neat! It all went fast and smooth. It didn't take long for them to do it, about 2 weeks. What took 2 months or more was getting my birth certificate from New Orleans. But the step-by-step of authenticating went like clockwork and the fees weren't bad either. The state handled it all and sent the documents to me when they got them back from the embassy. All I had to do was go to China and give the people at the marriage registration office in my 'soon-to-be' wife's city the paperwork. I remember how impressed I was to see Colin Powell's signature on the letter when I opened the mail. I also felt more confident in knowing my paperwork was taken care of stateside and not running into any unpleasant surprises in China by any consulate office. ~"One in the hand is worth two in the bush!" 5. I checked CA vital records dept. website and found no information on the certificate. Afterwards, I checked my state's VRD and ran ino the same thing- no info. I know my state has them because I had to get one for myself. So. I called them and asked and yes, you can get them. I did get a number for the CA deptartment but the website has no information on them. Try this number and hopefully you won't get the run-around. Good luck, CA Public Health (916) 558-1784 http://www.cdph.ca.gov/Pages/Default.aspx
  6. I believe he can get the single-status certificate from the state's vital records department. He should be able to google the department and get info from there. It might even have a apploication he can fill out and print and mail it in with a check to pay for the fee. Good luck.
  7. I got dish and have cctv 9 but no Spanish speaking cctv. Only cctv 9

    Snow coming!

Snowing pretty hard here right now. Yep, this is the most snow this time of year I've seen in a long time. I'll be glad to see this winter gone!
  9. I just downloaded via whispernet 'The Dream of the Red Chamber' to my Kindle. It only cost $2.39. I'll start reading it and see how it is using a e-book. I haven't messed around with it since I bought it. It was that cute commercial with Annie Little that sold me on it last year.
  10. The age of majority in China is 18. The father can still make decisions for him until then. Something to take into consideration. Good luck!
  11. It's also valentine's day but my wife has a hard time trying to pronounce the word because of the V in it. VVVVVVVV!!!........... Because of my teasing, she's not talking to me now. So a word to the wise; be careful about the "V"! Happy valentine's day everybody! .......................VVVVVVVVVV!!!
  12. http://i50.tinypic.com/2v2iark.jpg It was Harry Truman who said being a president is like riding a tiger. A man has to keep riding or be swallowed.

  14. My wife doesn't miss it. She watches it every year and it's the only thing she ever watches on TV. She's watching it right now. Gong Xi Fa Cai!!!... http://www.emotasia.com/wp-content/uploads/dodo-dog-emoticon-8.gifNian Nian You Yu!!!...
  15. http://i48.tinypic.com/2h5rw2b.jpg five-flavored fish. May you always get more than you wish for. Having more than you need every year. Why are you in China?.................. money What got you to China?................ money What keeps you alive in China?....... money That sums it up, unless you are a street begger scraping the pavement for jiaos. Something else to cry about, I guess.
  16. niannianyouyu concerning that large Spring Holiday image, it didn't come from any wikipedia and sure doesn't have any dots or dashes over the u's either. I rest my case. gong xi fa cai!
  17. http://i45.tinypic.com/16k5rwo.jpg Money can stand for everything. In some ways, once a man owns money, he would have everything. He can buy everything with it.
  18. Nothing to it but to do it! Go and get married, file the paperwork and let nature take its course! With any luck and good timing, all will fly like an eagle!...Good Luck!
  19. I hope you have warned her about this! My Yu is from Guangxi Province just north of Vietnam, and she HATES the mild but cold snowy winters here in Rochester, I can only imagine how a woman from Vietnam is going to react to the HARSH COLD of Bismarck. I have been there in the winter, remember well Ice forming in my mustache just walking across a packing lot. Can you say 20 BELOW! Has your girl lived her whole life in Vietnam? GOOD LUCK!! I can relate to the "ghost" remark made. My wife said something about ghost one time that was a bit peculiar but wanting to visit a cemetery is something my wife wouldn't want to do. She is afraid of anything that deals with death. I can't even talk to her about it without her breaking out into tears, so I just avoid the subject.
  20. Maybe it's a good thing that China and the USA is 180 degrees apart and seperated by a vast ocean. It couldn't have been any better even if it was planned.
  21. You both will have to be honest with each other, especially when she comes to the states but even now when she is still in China. Ask her how she really feels and see what she says. Maybe you're feeling a little jumpy which is natural. But try to find out what she honestly feels. Be open to each other. It's the best thing that both of you can do. Good luck.
  22. Thanks for the link, fineart. I will study it. And good luck with your papers. With the determination you show, I am sure they will be most impeccable and sound. Good Luck! %%--
  23. Good luck of course. nian nian you yu fish, (yu) sounds like money, more money, so they eat fish during the holiday. Chinese say, "gong xi fa cai, nian nian you yu" during spring holiday.
