  1. I just asked Limei what does " Ta Ma De " mean. Her response? " I don't think you need to learn this word. it is not a good word"....so..I still do not know!
  2. The one you are thinking of is this one: http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=17651 That would seem to me to be pretty convincing proof (even as hearsay) that an income below $40K IS given additional scrutiny. Someone asks 14 people about their denials and he forms a theory based on income levels below $40K... that's not hearsay, that's the person stating his theory directly. But I don't buy it as convincing since we don't know the entirety of blue slips, other than some were for return to US.. which is NOT a financial issue... Blue slips are prodominately relationship based.. based on our three years of tracking interviews... And so many K1s are never asked about income.. to me, that is convincing [action by the consulate] that finances are not really carrying alot of weight... I am self employed with a business. We just had our interview and our income or I-134 was never requested. We are k-1
  3. CONGRATULATIONS FROM ROB and LIMEI...Happy for the both of you. Now life begins!
  4. YAHOO! KEEP THE PINK STREAK ALIVE......CONGRATS!!!
  5. Dan: First Congratulations!! Now here is an oddity. My fiance' is Limei. I just finished talking to her and had to keep the conversation short as she is having dinner with her friend. She starts telling me about her friend just had her interview yesterday and that her fiance' lives in Wisconsin. Yep! It's you! So it appears that our SO's are friends. After talking to her I checked out CFL and started reading this thread and it started sounding coincidental so I called Limei back { she's at your SO's apartment now } and confirmed the info about your letter etc. so now I thought I would pass this coincidence on to you. Anyways according to Limei your So is a pretty happy lady right now. Congratlations again to the both of you. Our interview is next Thursday and Limei is very nervous......Rob WOW! Talk about living in a small world! Our SO's met while taking English classes at New Oriental and found themselves in the same boat, going through the K1 process. The 2 of them are really good friends. And I must say, you're a lucky man. Limei is a wonderful woman, and she is absolutely in love with you! Thank you very much for the contratulations, I KNOW I'll be offering up the same come a few days from now Good luck with everyhing!! Dan: I talked with Limei last night and she told me that she spent time with you and Xuejing yesterday. I am leaving for Guz. in about 3 hours but she said that you will be returned to the U.S. by my arrival. Well, maybe we will meet stateside. Best of luck with your future.....Rob
  6. I believe that Danielm2 is trying to find you!

  8. Michael: Why not buy the ring and make a 2nd trip to China. This can multiple benefit you. You can give her the ring personally. You get a second opportunity to visit her and maybe most important it shows the interview officer that you have been to China twice thereby reducing the risk of the question arising of a real relationship! Good Luck!
  9. Twice I have used Passport Visa Express .com. Very pleased with their service. Application can be accomplished on line and I then Fedex'd to them with passport and personal check. Can be tracked on line when they received, when they deliver to consulate, and when they fedex return. Their address is: 1911 North Fort Myer Drive, Suite 104 Arlington, Va. 22209. Three day turn around.
  10. Thank you every one for your replies. VERY helpful! Am I nervous? YEP! Interview 2 weeks from today...Thanks again....Rob
  11. ZIPPITY DO DA for you! Congrats!
  12. I was told to furnish a notarized statement from a bank officer showing my bank accounts, date they were opened, total deposits for the past year and the current balance. For reasons previously stated I have my sons name on my accounts, so the statement has both our names as the owners of the accounts. Could this cause an unforseen problem at interview? My tax returns, business and personal are soley my name.
  13. Today I was finishing my financial documents and a question has arisen. My son is my entire family so everything I own is in both of our names. ie: vehicles, properties and bank accounts. Reason should I unexpectedly depart inheritence is avoided and everything is automaticly his. My notarized statement from the bank officer showing my accounts, deposits and balances are in mine and my sons name. Could this be a problem at interview? My last three years tax returns, business and personal, my name only show 6 figure income. Any complications here?.......Rob
  14. Grasshopper would be proud to have you for his master old wise one!
  15. Significant one for you..special one for me!!!
  16. In Pa. a co-signer is just as resposible for the terms of the loan as the applicant. Have you tried having the loan officer explain the legalities of her signature to her? If she has only been here for 4 months is she required to sign? Is she joint ownership of the house? Good Luck!.......I was going to suggest hypnotism, but you requested only serious responses!!!
  17. After going this far in the process why risk it? I would not let $30.00 be a potential risk factor. Get it notarized and then you do not have to worry about the unexpected.....Rob
  18. After Limei and I had e-mailed each other for a month she sent me an e-mail stating,..." I am interested in you so I have removed my profile from website. Would you do the same? Rob, Will you do this for me"? I went back to the website and tried to send her a message. Sure enough the response said," This member has removed their profile". I then went to my profile and removed mine. From that point Limei and I only moved forward in our own world. To this day I have never logged on to that site again...Rob
  19. With our interview less than a month away I am finding myself preparing the house for Limei"s coming home. One area of concern I have is the adjustment to a different diet for her. When I went to China the first time I was able to go to a pizza hut or Mcdonalds or even an american buffet at a close by hotel. I live in the country and am equal distance {100 miles} from Pittsburg,Pa., Cleveland, Ohio and Buffalo, N.Y.. I am hoping to find a China town shopping area at these cities . But how difficult was it for your loved one to completely adapt to a different style of food? For intial preparation any recomendations on any special foods that were instantly liked? I can cook. I used to own a restaurant. Limei loves fish, fruit and vegetables. Thanks in advance for any suggestions...Rob
