I firmly believe that it helps. It gives you the opportunity to ask any last minute questions, correct any errors and have your case preliminarily reviewed. They also document in your file for the interview that you were there. They must do that for "some" reason.

Limei asked ..is this the celebration with fireworks? Another new experience for her. Sometimes it is just too exciting.. Yes happy 4th to you to!

I've no doubt this has been asked numerous times but I have only been concentrating on info that relates to the current stage that Limei and I are at. We are k-1, pink slip granted, she is in the U.S. with me. We are planning marriage in the next couple of weeks. We have our marriage license. Where do I go now to find a step by step process of the next stage. I am totally unfamiliar with form numbers etc. . Thanks in advance for assistance..Rob & Limei

I tend to believe that it does help.Reason? When I went to ACH the last thing the vo said to me was I will note in your file on the computer that you were here. I questioned him with ."why does that help"? He responded: It is good for the interviewing officer to know that you are here for the interview. If it did not carry any weight then why would they note in your file prior to the interview that you are there? I also tend to agree that unless there are pre-red flags showing that the interview might be a bit of formality. Reason? Again at ACH I asked some questions mainly just to justify my presence. After I was finished the officer asked if I had any more questions and I replied no. He then said that if any other questions arised before the interview that I could find the answers on their website but he also stated "but I don't see where that is neccesary as I don't see any problems and your case looks good. This is why I believe that some cases interviews are just a conclusion to the process. Hence, Limei's interview was only a couple of simple questions and she was given a pink slip. I believe that, is it a strike against you for not going to interview? No! Is it a positive point to be there? Yes!

Hey Dan and Allie: Good to hear from you. Seems like a lot longer than a month since we saw you guys. I will send you a post. Yes..Limei could not be happier!!!

Now that is a picture that I can relate to...Very impressive description of your lifestyle. Hope she likes it. Country living for me is like living in your own private world within this bigger world. When do you bring her home?

After reading many posts I am curious as to the environment that you all live. In my case I live on a 60 acre hobby farm in the middle of Amish country. We are on a dirt road that sees more horses and buggies in a day than vehicles. Limei grew up in Shangdong district in the country but has lived in Guangzhou for the past 4 years. I was curious to see if she would like the country style living and was prepared to move if she did not. She has been here for a month and absolutely loves our home and privacy. She has insisted that we buy more steers, which we have and the vegetable garden is her little paradise. Amazingly she is already driving the john deere tractor and brush hogging the fields and mowing the yard with the rider, and the whole time she is wearing the biggest smile. Her new excitement is fishing, which she had never done before. I have so much enjoyed watching her settle into her new home. She is like a child with every new thing that is shown to her, full of eagerness and interest. I have yet to see her express a moment of sadness or doubt about her move here. It is a wonderful joy for me to share this new life with her and we both greet each new day with enthusiasm. So how many of you have brought your loved one from a totally different environment and how have they adjusted?

I have been single the majority of my life. I have always had numerous animals and birds in my world. When Limei arrived 2 weeks ago it was immediately apparant that she was terribly afraid of dogs. My dog found a new home with the neighbors. I have had 2 parrots for 10 years. Limei believed that this was unhealthy to have birds in the house. The macaw went to a pet shop and the african grey went to my sons house. On the other hand we have bought 11 head of beef as Limei does like animals and is excited about living in the country and on the farm. She enjoys feeding the ostriches, ducks, peacocks etc. I feel that Limei is my priority and although I enjoyed my dog[used to sleep with me] and my parrots I would not subject her to an uncomfortable home environment. They are as others have said...animals......Limei is my wife!

More stats for you...I am 53, Limei is 35..I divorced 27 years ago, Limei never married..I am financialy secure..We also had a short and simple interview.

Our p-3 only took 6 weeks but then p-4 took 5 months!!! Overall entire process took 9 months. Good luck!
