  1. Hello friends, Our big happy family is off to the States. We have so much luggage, two very young kids and each other. Pray for us as we travel. We've been packing and so busy this past week and haven't had much sleep at all, but we are so happy. We'll miss China, but we are glad to be going home together. We'll let you know when we get there. Blessings to you all.
  2. Just wanted to let you know, the exit visa we needed for my daughter to leave China just turned out to be a residents permit, the same one we all (My husband, son and I) have on our passport. It's till Feb. 2008. All we needed was a one month Residence. We told them we were leaving by July 1st but they insisted that she must have the same Residence permit we have that ends Feb 2008. Wow. Anyway, that's all. We are packing up our stuff and getting ready to go. We'll be home for the fourth of July. Blessings to you all.
  3. Hi, We are sorry to hear about the lost or misplacement of his passport. One thing that I would advice is to clam yourself and relax, then take your mind off from it for a while. Sometimes I find things when I stop looking for them and just rest. It usually comes to my mind where the thing that I am looking for was kept. I would advice that you go back to the place where you bought the ticket and report to the police as soon as possible. It might be that you just keep it somewhere and I pray that you will find it soon. Just take some time to walk around your house and just follow the leading of your heart. Could you tell us more about the (BTW - did you know people entering on an immigrant visa get discounted tickets?) We wish you success in finding the passport soon. Regards, Harvsetgal&bosah
  4. Hi, We stayed in Mr. Yang's hotel and we liked it. They are nice people and so helpful. We enjoyed the time that we spent there. So, we recommend them to anyone that have interview in GUZ. Thanks Mr. and Mrs. Yang. Blessing from Francis and Erica
  5. Hi, We are happy for that good news. Your wife will definitely make it this time. You are in our prayers. Blessing
  6. Thanks everyone. Just wanted to add a few more things. For those wondering how things went with the passport issue, they said they'd just do everything in the name as it is on the passport. But it's good we had the name changed in the observations part of the passport so that it won't lead to problems in the future. They did do a name check on both names. And another thing to add. We got there at about 7:15 in the morning. Waited outside in line till almost 8:00am, then went up to 4th floor. My husband went up to the fifth floor and didn't come out till around 2:15pm. It was such a looooooong wait, especially with the two kids. I had to breastfeed my daughter out in public and just cover myself with a blanket. Did it in the coffee shop. Sooooo embarrassing, but hey, she had to eat and she doesn't take the bottle. Had to change my son's diaper in the waiting room. I know, some people may say, why didn't you wait in the hotel with the kids. But I just had to be there. I just had too. I wanted to be right at the elevator when my husband came down, but off course he came while I was changing my son's diaper and thought I'd gone back to the hotel. So he called me and I told him I was in the waiting room. When we finally met up with each other, he wasn't smiling. I didn't ask if he got pink our not. Just explained what I was doing. And we got prepared the leave. I just couldn't ask. Then as we were leaving, he goes, "By the way, I was successful." I was like, "What do you mean?" He said, "I got the pink!" Man, I was so happy. Now I'm just trying to finish up my classes and prepare to go home. We are all so happy. One big happy family. Blessings to you all.
  7. Thanks everyone for your prayers, support and good advice. We got pink! We are so happy! I'm so excited and so our parents. They can't wait to see us in the States. A few details on the interview. My husband said when they started the interviewer said we never had a case like this before. So he then began to tell her more about us, who we are, how we met, our kids, etc... She looked at basically everything we had. My domicile evidence, a letter from my parents stating how they want us to come home and stay with them and their home has always been my domicile in the States, they are fully ready and able to co-sponsor us, etc... Here's some of the things they looked at, copy of license, letter I wrote stating our plans once we get back to the US, I-864, Co-sponsors I-864, bank statements, letter of evolution (she did ask to see this, thank God we had it. I say to all those preparing, better to have it than not. I was told I should have this the night before the interview and was so tired from dealing with the kids, so I just went to a post I had in this site, in "Our Lives together", section where I told how we met, how our relationship progressed and how we are eagerly waiting for our interview etc. I printed it out and wrote a letter to the VO telling this is what I recently posted on CFL site, it tells the evolution of our relationship. That's it. I thought it was so bad not to write a formal letter, but I didn't think it would be needed for our case so I thought it would never be seen. It was and it was read and accepted, thank God.), Also I was told the night before the interview that I'd need a letter stating our plans when we get to the USA. I also hand wrote this in cursive. I was so tired that I thought it was a sloppy letter. Usually I would have typed this and printed it out neatly, but we were in a hotel and had the kids and I didn't know where to go to type it formally and I thought it probably won't be looked at, my husband can just tell them our plans, but indeed it was looked at. A very important piece, I also had written a letter about why I didn't file tax, with the instructions from the 1040 form as proof, how I didn't make enough to be required to file taxes. Also we had pictures, all arranged in Chronological order from the day we met to recently, like a week or two before the interview of the whole family. Half way through the pictures she asked, where are the recent pictures of your family? My husband said, keep going, they are coming it's all in chronological order. She continued and saw them all and was satisfied. All that was looked at. My husband stayed calm through the interview, smiled and felt confident. He said, he just wants to be with his wife and kids and make his wife and her parents happy by taking us all home to the States. I've always said, wherever my husband is, that's where I will be. I really love my hubby, even enough to give up living in my own nation. But now, we just both feel it's time to go home and my parents so want us home so they can be with their grandchildren. It's just time, with a growing family it gets harder to find jobs abroad. We need to go home and settle down there. I just asked my husband what he felt was important about the interview and he said, being confident, mastering what you have, knowing where everything is and presenting it with out taking time, as he was able to do. Also explaining what each thing is and saying a little about it while giving it to the VO. He said the interview lasted about 8-10 minutes and went well. She gave him pink. Yes, Pink, not gold. Don't know why, but we are happy with it! It's not a K3, it is CR1 visa, we never applied for K3 because we are doing direct consulate filing, since we both reside here in China. So that's it. The people whose hotel we stayed with collect the Visa and Mail it to us here. He was able to arrange this with the post office there. We stayed in Tian Yu Garden Apt. We got that information from this site. The owner and his wife are wonderful people. They came to our room the night before and looked at our stuff. They suggested the letter about our plans in the US and My parents 2006 tax forms. My parents filled out the forms before 2007 so they didn't have 2006 tax forms included, as they are our co-sponsors. I called them immediately and they faxed it to us. Both of these things were needed. I thank God for Mr. Yang and his wife. I waited in the coffee shop with Nuworld. He and his wife are wonderful people. He was able to put up with my kids, (My son was running around acting wild cause of the long wait.) But I think the kids did good for such a long wait. I'm sure they will easily overcome their blue and get pink very soon. (Stay in touch Nuworld.) So that's about it. I'd better get ready to go to work now. Now I just need to look into if we need an exit visa to take our daughter who was born here in China to the States. She has her American Passport, but do we need an exit Visa? Does anyone here know where I can find more info about this? She's 3 months old now. She has no residence on her passport because she was born here. Does anyone know if this is a problem at the airport when we leave? We do have her Chinese birth certificate. Can anyone suggest where I might find information about this? Thanks. Blessings to you all.
  8. Congratulations!!!! Lot¡¯s of blessing today. May others experience the same blessing in their forth coming interview.
  9. The fax should be just fine. I've never heard of them having problems with domicile evidence other than people who showed up with nothing. Thanks, looks like we'll have to settle for the photocopy of my license, I been tracing the mail my mother sent with my duplicate license in it. This is crazy. The mail went from Delaware to Phily, from Phily to North Carolina, From North Carolina to Jamaica, NY and then to NY, NY and was just sent from Kennedy airport today. It was mailed off on Saturday morning. It's now Thursday. Is that not crazy or what, it was mailed global express international and sent as extremely urgent. It went all over the east coast before it even got mailed off here to China. It doesn't look like I'll get it by Saturday morning. My mother and I been tracing it and we think it's absolutely ridiculous. Anyway, at least we have the scanned copy and the fax. To all the others preparing for their interview, I'll say never depend on express mail for any documents you need at the last minute. I been doing make up classes all week for the classes I'll miss while we are at the interview, as well as my normal classes. So right now, I'm just too tired and drained to be so nervous for the interview. At least, all this tiredness is helping me sleep better at night, between work, stress and the kids, it's the perfect solution to make me sleep through the night. At least it's been working the past two nights anyway. Well enough about me. Congratulations to all those who got the recent pink slips. And blessings to all those preparing for the interview. (Welcome to China NuWorld, hope all is going well for you. We'll see you soon.) We'll be in Guz by Sunday.
  10. Congratulations!!! That's great news, more blessing.
  11. Also, another issue with my new license. Mom was able to get me a dublicate license. She's mailing it to me, but it may not get here on time. She faxed and scanned a copy of it. Would a copy be alright. I know it's too late now, my mom, just mailed it, global mail yesterday, but are their any other mails that deliver faster? We leave on Saturday for guanzhou. You think it'll make it in time? pray that it does, I just don't want any domicile issues.
  12. As for my US domicile, I have a letter from my parents stating that I have always come home in between my work commitments and came home for the birth of my son. They've also stated that their house is my domicile there. I also have my US license and bank statements. Ok and as for the filing requirements for filing taxes. According to page 12 of the instructions for filing the 1040 form it says if your filing status is married filing jointly, (I'd say that must be me, I was married in 2004 and I'm not filing separately, cause he can't file on his own, he's not a US citizen, resident, Alien or any of that.) So I just was going to add his salary in with mine) we didn't make enough to file. It says "If under 65 and both spouses made less than $16,900 than you were not required to file taxes. I've written a letter explaining that I didn¡¯t make enough to meet the filing requirements for filing taxes the past 3 years. In 2005, I had my son and didn't work for 6 months of that year. We didn't make enough to file for any of the past 3 tax years. I have a copy of my last year's school contract as the proof of salary. Do you think this will be enough? Is there anything else I should do? I have the work visas on my passport as proof of temporary residence too. Thanks for your advice.
  13. Thanks, we knew nothing about having an exit visa for the baby. We already have her cert of birth abroad and passport. Thanks for that info. So the day is coming closer to our interview, we are soooo looking forward to it. Even though they"ve already said the name correction on the passport may cause some delay, we are still hoping and praying for a miracle. My school will pay my plane ticket back home if we can tell them the date when we plan to leave, by May 29th. We must be booked together, since we are traveling as a family. It would save us a lot of money, if we get a pink slip and can tell the school the exact day we are leaving, which would probably be around July 1 or second. For those that believe in prayer, pray for a miracle. My mother has not even seen her granddaughter. She and my Dad are already excited. They are getting the house ready and child proofing everything. Our son was 6 weeks old the last time they saw him, now he's 2 years old. She's telling me all the preparations she's making for us. I can't help but be excited when I talk with her. I just can't wait to get home with my family. Well, Just writing cause I'm up early again. Blessings to you all. Maybe after the interview, I'll be able to get some real sleep.
