  1. PJ: As the above all mentioned where to sugest you go, I would like to warn you not to include the following cities in your plan. One is JiNan, capital of my province, ShanDong province, one isGuangzhou, capital of GuangDong. I mentioned them because they are big cities and are easy to be chosen. Reason is only because they are too dirty.
  2. Hi, PJ: Please refer to http://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides...andong/qingdao/ From there, you can see a small shandong province map, pointing out Qingdao's position. Here people dont speak cantonese. our language is quite similar with Mandarine, and with the smell of seashell Btw, qingdao has been chosen in China as the most suitble city for people living, it do has mild temperature, even its in north, even it has had so many advantages, even you dont mind B) Hey, Good luck with so many choices!!! (There are seagulls flying or stopping over the sea, on the weekend, people go to feed them with chips of bread )
  3. Our kinds of visa' processing is strict enough. Maybe they are mainly meaning the travel or student visa processing or interview, which most of the terrorists held. When that happens, they should be sending more officials to do the work.
  4. Hi, PJ: My suggestion is Qingdao where I was born and have been living. Qingdao is in eastnorthern China, a very famous beach city. It has a nickname as¡±Eastern Switzerland¡±. From the nickname, you may be able to easily get the outline of what the city looks like. Yes, its filled with many European style buildings and the city planning is pretty good. It¡¯s much cleaner than most of other cities in China, even compared with Shanghai, not to say Beijing, Beijing is dirty. The economic here is good. There are many famous light industrial companies, like Haier or Hisense or Qingdao Beer, but of course I know you are not interested in them, me either. What I want to say is if you have good luck to join a good English school, you will be paid pretty well. But from this way, you shouldn¡¯t expect to be paid as much as Beijing or Shang Hai, while the living cost here is not so high as those cities.Nothing is perfect. Anyway, also in Qingdao you will find a good feeling as a foreigner. Qingdaonese, they will neither ignore you nor idiotly surround you looking at your spectacular face slobbering, they will respect you if you behave well, think you different but not slobbering, accept you and join you. This is maybe their normal thinking, I¡¯m not so sure. Anyway you wont feel bizzar or being lost to live here. Many Qingdao people can speak good English---but not so good as mine---hehehe, so maybe you will easily make friends here. But you should be careful with your contract mentioning about some English corner. English corners in Qingdao are like ants holes on a hill, you cann¡¯t see them when you don't notice but they are all around. It should be called English saloon better than English corner which is too direct from Chinese translation. Many English schools are trying to attract people¡¯s eyes by guys like you. So you have to sacrifice your free time to do that for free because you have agreed in your contract unless you can negotiate with it. But also there is good point of it, you can meet different peoples, know the local culture faster. B) One thing I don't like Qingdao is the dialect, which you are lucky that you wont know about. They say its smelled with seashell, : What else? Oh, yea, food. Because Qingdao is a beach city, so lots of seafood will be easily bought. But Qingdao¡¯s market is full of all kinds of foods. Don't worry, they are not expensive. If you want to know something else, you can just ask, as I am a pure Qingdao woman:angel: :greenblob
  5. No. ttlee_99, they won't do that for marriage. I think the two loved ones gettting together is not gonna held back by any body or anything in the world. B)
  6. Even it's good for us, I'm still feeling bad for babies. There are many pathetic babies in China, some are orphants, some are born in very poor family so that they dont have money to buy food or clothes not to say school. Me and my friends used to help a girl to finish her primary school, who was in a far poor region. Hope she has grown up!
  7. Maybe this policy is only temporary for sars. Sars is very annoying:(

  12. Yes, Owen, West Union only transfer dollars. Maybe you need to take the guise as 007 to contact with those men in black to get the dollars first B)
  13. Hi, Mick: I'm in Qingdao, a quite northeast city and I have experienced once to send money to foreigh country. But it was not America, I'm not sure whether it helps. Before I worked in a foreign company as a translator and an assisstant. Once, the manager needed to send 10,000RMB to another country personally. So I was required to do that. Obviously the RMB should be first changed into dollars. If that was through company's business, then there would be no problem. Because the bank and the trading itself would have the system to change currence. The problem was only when you wanted to do it in person.Usually the bank wouldnt change RMB for you into dollars unless you offer some certain kind of certificates, even in that way, the bank change only a little amount which couldnt be enough. So I went to the black market to change the RMB into dollars and then immediately I sent the money smoothly out by west union. Of course by west union, you need to pay some processing fee, which is about 10% of the sum you transferred. B)
  14. Hi, friends: When you are crying, somebody else may be crying in an unknown corner; When you are laughing, some other people may be laughing in far regions----just remember you are not lonely! And never will be! Thank your for you words and may God bless us! Truly yours, Sarah

  16. (Quote: anyone know how to cut a wedding cake?) Hi, you need to dip the cake knife into the water a little bit, then the knife wont be too sticky, and you need to hold your wife's hands together to cut it slowly
  17. Hi, friends: Thanks so much for your words! May God bless us Sarah
  18. Hi, all: I'm a newbie here, and I'm the fiance of Chinadave2001. My fiancee is an oldbie here We are working on k1 visa, now waiting for P4 coming through. I have been a loyal audience for this website since my fiancee told me. Here is a cozy place with true candlelights where friends meet and help each other which is touching and cherishable. I think even in the future when I get my visa I will still be an absolute supporter for here beccause it has been all the time accompanying us when we are in hard time needing of supports. It traces our heart voices where the most beautiful love songs being sung It must be very hard for us now who are still being parted with our loved ones. After 911, Iraqi wars, the Sars stuff seems now coming furiously along with its all masks, which may frustrate us more. Love is the purest, but we have to face so many other things beyond our love. We may be frowning , being sad or even crying for the situation we are stucked in. We may be wondering why no officials notice this small corner giving us enough attentions and reforms, why on earth bad things would just endless come out from nowhere, shoulder by shoulder: nobody would answer our phone calls or in good mood, no any informations about the visas after centuries; well now even the airlines are said to be cancelled, etc. The missing for our loved ones together with these one by one bad news bite our hearts, throwing us to the deadline of being crazy. But we need all to know that after all these cloudy days, the shining time will be surely coming by and shine our future life even brighter! "There will be no problem, everything will be ok finally!" Love always prevails I wish that me and my fiancee will get our visa as soon as possible. I wish you friends good luck with your processing. And I wish that those who have got your visas enjoying your happy lives with loved ones, praying for us!
  19. Recall it! They might have made a mistake which they seemed not caring about AT ALL. Call again and ask again, let them know your confusion, see what they will say.
  20. Honey: Since you told me about this website, I have been thinking to write something here, so today to write to you first will be a good start. I'm sorry that you dealt with that woman, which also upset me. I think to call later in the week would be a good idea. But if you talk with her again and she is still as rude as this time, to ask her to spell out her name is good too. Luckily we have another nicer woman to talk with. I doubt that whether there are many such persons working in the department, who dont hold right manners and attitude, and whether this point would influence the speed of processing? B) I love you!
