  1. So far so good. Today Fengjie got her green card. She did not understand what it was until I got someone to tell her in Chinese. So it is all good now. Today when I came home from work she had cleaned the garage. She is just that kind of woman. How are you to doing? Life in America is different for the both of us. Michael Glad to hear things are going well. We have settled in nicely and like any married couple have our share of disagreements. Cleaning is not her forte I am also glad that things are going well Michael. Sounds like Fengjie is adapting well. Sam, are you sure that you married a Chinese woman? I am not so sure......maybe I should get a genetic test done.

  3. Diplomatic liscence plates are different and this car was missing a liscence plate and was fleeing after being asked to stop. How are the cops going to know if these are diplomats or not?
  4. You survived the mushrooms and now the seperation. You are a strong man Griz. Goodluck with everything and y'a know that beard has to go. She is going to get her way.
  5. Lily washes and reuses paper towels Yup. Know that one.
  6. We did not need to know that George. My wife wore a "commie" dress. I agree with others on this, dressing in business attire can only be a good thing.
  7. Something to think about Nuworld. If transfering to another department makes your and your wifes life smoother then forget about complaining. One of the drawbacks of going to EEOC could be that the company will look for an opportunity to get rid of you and your wife. If the state you are in is a "right to work" state like NY then the company does not even need a reason to fire you. I dont have to tell you whats involved in looking for a new job in this economy. As much as you want justice done please also think about the after effects. Goodluck and I hope things work out.
  8. That is correct, interview takes place in country of citizenship (Japan) HK2LA is correct. The visa (interview) has to be issued in the country of Marriage which might not be the same as country of citizenship.
  9. I would look into filing a complaint with the Equal Emloyment commission. I think its called the EOE. When you/your wife complained to the VP or the Plant manager do you have that in writing? Edited to add this link: http://www.eeoc.gov/employees/howtofile.cfm
  10. Does that mean there will be hookers and strip clubs there? Huh? Will be??? There already are! Ever since I can remember, there have been more hookers and strip clubs per square mile in Hainan than anywhere else in China -- even including Jilin Province. Seen a lot of hookers in all kinds of places (even barber shops) but never run across what I would call a real Las Vegas strip club. At least not yet but then again even thinking about looking for one would result in a mop slap ... just writing this will probably give my wife one of her "feelings" and end up in a mop slap.... There might not be strip clubs but wifey did take me to check out a "whore house" in Zengcheng. This place was simply amazing and very very EXPENSIVE.
  11. I did have an EOR letter. Since I have been on this site I do not remember anyone being asked for one. The chances are you might get a blue and be asked for an EOR letter. The VO might not even give you a chance to hand it if you had one at the interview. IMHO the EOR seems to be an outdated document. Edited to add: I am not saying not to have one but I would not loose sleep over it.
  12. I have used flychina without any problems. You can also check uschinatrip.com or travelocity.com with uschinatrip verify the dates with what you asked for as they have a tendency to change dates.
  13. I would go to city hall and ask them whats involved in getting the name changed.
  14. I beleive the name change has to start with the marriage certificate.
  15. Does that mean there will be hookers and strip clubs there? Huh? Will be??? There already are! Ever since I can remember, there have been more hookers and strip clubs per square mile in Hainan than anywhere else in China -- even including Jilin Province. Damm it. you tell me now. I am so there next time I am in China, about time I saw a Chinese stripper. So what do I need to put in the gstring a $1 or 1 yuan. I think this depends on what kind of look you want, for how long and how much attention you want from her the rest of the night.. I was thinking it depended on whether you wanted her shoe in your mouth. That could explain the problems with your septic tank Don.

  18. Wifeys a lil bit peeved at me. I said hell no, Why would I want to go to the beach with a few thousand men with no bikinis around. I would much rather stay in the "country". With all the men gone I have the women to myself. My kind of vacation. Ok I deserve a mop slap for that comment.
  19. Apparently this is one of the "perks" of living in the province of Guangdong. Other provinces do not do this as they are not as rich as Guangdong (according to wifey) If you live in the "country" (My understanding is this means rural area) the provincial government sends you on an expense paid vacation every year. Last month all the women were sent and last week all the men were sent to Hinan...Included air fare, lodging and boarding for 3/4 days. I was amazed till I thought about growing up in India... My dad used to work for the equivalent of the Fedral Reserve in the US and every two years he was given money for a family vacation. Imagine this happening in America; not to mention we work more hours then anyone else on the planet.
  20. A few weeks back we went to the Danbury mall and decided to try the Chinese place in the food court. There was an "oriental" looking spanish guy behind the counter. The wifey goes up and starts talking to him in Chinese. You should have seen the look on this guys face.
  21. Glad things are going well. We have some of the same issues as you do.
