  1. Good point... ask for a Western Toilet.... I have been in a nice hotel only to have to change rooms, because these knees don't.... well you know
  2. Very well said Mike. I agree except for the antiacids and pain killers. I never drink the water unless it has been boiled.again as mike said, Relax, enjoy!! Except for the great expense and long travel, I kinda of miss going this year. I went 5 times in the last five years, so it is time to take a break I think. See America
  3. Keyword "2nd visit" or even 3rd.... make sure she is the one as I'm sure you'll know. This is an excellent idea, I did the same even though the card I left her never would work for her in China, even as I talked to the bank. Others had not problems at all. i told he to keep the card and she used it fine when she came here. By doing this, it will allow you to deposit money into the account and she can withdraw without the western union charges, which can be costly over time. Additonally, the first time I went to China, I got Jet-Lag so bad, it lasted like 3-4 days. the next time I went I took No Jet Lag and I had no problems. I saw others taking it also. It's a fun time, enjoy my man your trip my man. No Jet Lag
  4. Can't say I agree. For me, Disney was never about Mickey... Mickey and Minnie have really been gone since... the 50's... just people liking Nostalgia really cared about that.... Disney "IMO" was more about the innovative entertainment. Most of the things in Disney from my view was for things people remembered like the JAWS ride,Back to The Future. Yes Disney is once of them, but they just happen to be the owners of the park... not the main attraction. My Question, what about the cost? Disney is very expensive for a days adventure. Wouldn't only the rich be able to afford it?
  5. I haven't done 12 hours of pictures, but I did do about 4-5 hours... they really did work on my wife with the different dresses and I looked like an Emporor ... glad you had a good trip. You are right about the email and then the online payments. I beleive it saves about 1 1/2 - 2 months of waiting for mails and sending mail.... you are on your way my man. Again, Good Luck

  7. I wish you well . Relax in knowing you will have your lovely wife ready to get you home to start the healing process.
  8. I hadn't seen this thread for a few days..... SHE CAUGHT THE BIRD?? I couldn't beleive it.... Just too funny. Charles, this reminds me of a couple of weeks ago when we were talking about it was warm here in ATL and we slept with the windows open and I woke up a a bird was singing outside my window at 4am... wouldn't strop and I couldn't go back to sleep because of it... I toss and turn... turn and tosss untill finally I ask my wife if the bird is bothering her... she replied no. Then I finally said I can't sleep... her response was don't worry, "I will catch it and fry it in oil" ... I don't think she did, but I now beleive it is possible after hearing of your experience.
  9. With all due respect to your wife, I must say this was a funny story. I'm sure we all have some funny stories.... I finally let my wife drive yesterday in "live" traffic. I let her drive to the market... my heart was a beating....Bmp bmp bmp bmp.... she did ok... then she drove home from the store... go to go into the garage... I turn the wheel a little so she doesn't take out the side of the garage because she is looking straight ahead ... to her defense she has to go up an incline to get into the garage and she said she wanted me to do it... I said no you can do it... so she proceeded and right has she should hit the brakes in the garage to turn off the car, she decides to floor it ...... just call me fast lefty, because I yanked on that emergency brake just as she was about to plow in the the freezer and subsquently take out a wall and go into the laundry room... that would have been quite a thread to open up Anyway, she just laughs and laughs and I was not laughing and she swears she stops just in time and refuses to beleive I stopped the car ... anyway, I won't let her drive in to the garage for a while.... anyway, sorry to hijack your thread Charles. I hope that your wife will make peace this this bird, if in fact the bird knows what's good for him.
  10. I didn't have a failed K1, just a quick breakup of a marriage and I ended up marrying again 1 month after my divorce was final to the K1(A Big Red Flag according to Marc Ellis) ... I didn't use an attorney when filing my CR1. I briefly explained my past brief marriage situation in my CR1 petition at the suggestion of a former CFL member and I beleive this was my biggest mistake, considering Chilton747's and another former member in a similar situation front loaded and didn't have to wait the 19 months I had to wait for a P2(NOA2) 19 months. Once I got my P2, my petition sailed through the process. When I sent information to Guz, I gave a very detailed letter of my prior marriage to a Chinese woman. When interview time rolled around they only asked my wife a few questions and she got the visa.
  11. Welcome Hong. GLad to see you on-board. You will enjoy it here. Write often. Where are you from in China?
  12. I enjoyed reading this thread as I can relate to the different styles of parenting. I agree with Shaq, although not at first, but I understand you can't stiffle them why they are adjusting to a totally new culture. He has grown his hair long, I was going to force him to get a haircut, but after thinking about, I understand he needs his own automony to a degree. I like Lee's style also, get them young and grown them up right. I'm still feeling things out. He tends to stay in his room alot, his mom lets him use her computer too much, but she won't listen to me... I did just by him one. I will restrict what he can load and download to the computer. I understand we have a long way to go to adjusting, but I feel he is doing well after 4 months.
  13. I had to look at the website to see who you were talking about, but I used this attorney back in 2004 and got a k1 visa in 11 months... I didn't know of CFL then, but they were worth the money then. They were very professional and took care of everything. I could call and shoot the breeze on several occasions... I have nothing negative to say about this firm.
  14. You can hire a Hong Kong lawyer to do all of the ground work for you so you can marry on day 1, that's what we did. costs about $350 and must send all the paperwork to the lawyer about six weeks before the marriage. Saves all the hassle of getting the marriageability cert from an embassy. This was no hassle at all. I did spend a day getting everything together, but really no problem.
  15. 1st, Congratulations. I wish you and your fiancee the best. I understand your concern because of your past relationship..I waited a long time because my ex left after 6 weeks. Then I thought all she wanted was a green card... today after talking to her 3 years later, I feel it was cultural differences that were not dealt with and 3rd parties getting involved... I really did love that woman... but that is the past and my present wife is a good woman who I want to make very happy. Anyway, look at my time line... I waited almost 2 years for our p2 to come. I think your parents going to the marriage will be very positive for your case, HIGHTLIGHT and speak of it in your letter in your letter of evolution in your filing. I think you will be fine, just explain why the past one went bad and how hurt your were if that is the case,... etc. Good luck to you and your lovely one.
  16. You are right... paying online definetly saves you some time, maybe up to 1 to 2 month. I think it saved me about 1 month and I even made a mistake in one part of the James' Shortcut. To the OP, Congrats, you are on your way.
  17. I wish you luck in your situation. You are in a difficult postion. It is not my place to judge any man. Evidently you paid your debt to society. Hang in there.
  18. When I visited Beijing once, I heard a tv commerical that said, you haven't visited China until you ate Peking Duck and you are not a man until you climb the Great Wall. Well, I did both. Climbing the Wall was tough, It was quite a work-out... I found if you go on a diagonal from one side to the other side of the steps is actually a little easier that going straight up the steps. I'll always remember when I arrived at the Great Wall a Chinese Vendor yelled loudly to me across the court.... "Black Power, brother" as he held up a fist. I laughed loudly and returned his salute ... I must say that tickled me more than anytime I visited China... but I have had so many great times in China, I can talk about them so much... but just the same, I'm sure all of you have expereinced the same.... well maybe not the Salute. B) One more story... I was in Tainamen Square and I started to take a picture of a soldier and he said no ... you know what ?? I didn't take it... do you think I'm crazy? He had a Gun
  19. Thanks! So it's your understanding that she shouldn't have any problems as long as she has her China Passport & Green Card? Also her Drivers License & SS Card just for backup... I don't think she will have a problem with the places I mentioned in the least, I went to those places and I didn't even have Passport, as I only had a birth certificate, but this was pre 9/11. My feeling is her and your only issues is getting back into the US not the places you are visiting... and the Passport(yours and hers) and her Green card handles that. But to be sure, it wouldn't hurt to double check.
  20. Rocco, glad you are onboard now. Listen to Chilton747... he knows and has been down this road.. thankfully he recently finished and his lovely is with him Stateside. Hang in there and work on her English... If they determined if my wife would get her Visa on my ability to speak Chinese,... I don't know is she would be home wating for me now ... Still, it doesn't hurt to know it. I actually wish I could speak Chinese better.... start getting your pictures and letter together. If you send your wife money, keep a copy... if you send her gifts, save the receipt.... While my situation was a little different from Chilton747's , I too had to wait a very long time. Hang in there and good luck.... One more thing, while I know you would have rather had her pass and get her visa, think of this as time to know each other even more before she is approved. It'll happen, you just need patience and love.
  21. I have been to Aruba,Mexico, PR and Bahamas and you only needed your birth certificate then, but now I understand you need your passport and in your wife's case her Green card along with the passport. Have a great time, it should be great. One tip, unless you just want to try the local cuisine, eat on the boat, food can be very expensive on the outside.
  22. I posted this because it reminded me when Brett Favre's dad died and he played on Monday Football and his teammates rallied around him and myself when I was in a similar position. It's times like that people need people to show they care. Not just be quiet.
  23. Didn't want to put this in TC http://highschool.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=914609
