  1. I have MetroPCS, 4G... $40 per month, no contract. unlimited free long distance, texting.
  2. Thanks Randy. Good to be back. This will be her 5th year working in the USA. I'm puttiing a mix of 401k and Roth aside... I know the Roth will be tax free. My wife is just putting in a company 401k,... she works for Wal-mart. We really never talked too much about her being a citizen... she is one of those ladies that China is better... I'm not sure I would feel comfortable living there for long periods of time... especially as I get older. I'm not particularlly comfortable with thier medical... not that ours is perfect, but I can understand them here, there I would depend on my wife.... plus, I have 3 kids and 4 grand kids here and I'm sure more to come at least from my 18 year old son.... none now, he's probably still a virgin, at least the last time I asked. but he will be a catch one day.
  3. This is a good topic, I'm just reading a year later. My wife is into her 6th year of her 10 year visa. She doesn't seem interested in getting US citizenship. One reason, she says she doesn't want to pay for a visa when she wants to visit China. I heard mention in this thread there maybe issues, in getting her SS beneifits and maybe 401K money. Can anyone elaborate Prior to her current status expiring, she will just get another 10 years, I'm thinking. We never really talked about it seriously, but maybe now is the time to do this. Her Dad has properties in China which will be left to her and her sister... she always says we will retire there.... I can't wrap my mind around that one, yet
  4. has anyone looked into to OOMA.com? just like Vonage, just free. You buy the box for $179. and you just pay about $3.00 a month for taxes and fees. Look at the site, ooma.com, but go to frys.com and it maybe a little cheaper. I have been toying with the idea for a month, just havent done it yet. For china calls , just buy a phone card. M wife is still using a card I bought when she was in China 4 years ago, since she uses QQ alot.
  5. Very Good Dennis. I can remember watching both of those shows every Saturday. Enjoyed them both. I can even remember dancing like that in those high heeled platform shoes. If I did it now I would break a leg or throw my back out.
  6. I didn't see the beginning of 60 minutes last night, but it seemed the whole show was about him. It was very interesting and a good tribute. Didn't he work until the end on the show? There was a time when there talked to him about retiring and reflecting and he said what was he going to reflect about. But I didn't hear if he retired or not.
  7. All of looks very nice to watch, but is making me very hungry.
  8. Yeah right.....all my buddies aready see me living on the corner of the roof. Do you know of someone? She is really cute and actually surpasses my wife in the anger department. She is 36 and can kick the living shit out of any man that makes her angry. Any takers Dennis? Stay out of it my brother... stay out of it!
  9. I was walking in the market on Saturday night and someone stopped me and told me. I was saddened at that moment. Hate to see her go this was. I was hoping she would turn her life around. She came from a talented family. Sad!
  10. Yes stay away from ice and fountain drinks. Even bottled water in some cities are not safe as they use tap water to fill the bottles. My wife was very peculiar about certain bottled waters and would not let me drink them. Your gal should know best. One thing, if it doesn't taste right then beware. Only take a sip to determime the taste. If it ain't right then don't drink it. Only eat foods that have been boiled such as noodles. If your gal know how to make soymilk then this will be a plus as well as green tea. I ate at many streetside restaurants and was not affected. Green tea as well as puer tea detoxifies the blood so this is a good thing. Learned this lesson about the Ice in Mexico years ago... I must say my 1st trip to China I had bad Jet-Lag... not sick, just out of it.... the following 4 times I went, I started taking Jet-Lag as soon as I got on my 1st plane going to China, something I bought off the internet,,, never had problems again. As far as drink, I never drank anything but hot-tea or bottled water or something from a bottle. I never did have any problems with the food. Never ate anything strange like Dog.
  11. Very good post Bigguy. I was going to suggest the Pimsluer cd... I don't know a lot of Chinese... mostly just enough to be act like a cute monkey when I speak to a Chinese person. They are impressed but I'm very insecure knowing I can't understand anything they say when in china. You post made me think. Iam a lazy American, maybe that beautiful woman shouldn't have been so bluntm but as some american peope are very blunt so were she, seemingly she was right and it motivated you to an impressive ablility. I won't go on record to say I will commit myself to learn now, but it maybe come a NEw Years Resolution... Thanks for all the information. I'm curious, why were you in China for so long, for work?
  12. I have taken the train 3 times in China, twice on the bullet train, A very ride and once on an overnighter from Beijing... I have nothing bad to say about either, I had a sleeper, shared with someone else. it was fine. I have seen some that don't look fun to be on.
  13. All the NY teams stunk up the place in the last few days. The Giants played horribly last night.
  14. We're still the Number one NY team... the rent is just cheaper across the river. It was a great game today... 3 lead changes. Glad we got the win. Hopefully we can start to get some guys back after the bye week. Our season starts to really get tough then. I was hoping you guys didn't blow us out. You guys were 0-5 this time last year... big change this year.
  15. Go ahead... knock them down!!
  16. That's NorWIDE. Where is he now? http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1032492/index.htm http://www.wellsvilledaily.com/sports/x1009763331/Norwood-s-life-after-football-is-business-as-usual Interesting story. When I watched that game, I had left NY the year before and I was living in Tulsa Okla at the time. It made me feel good that my team won. A source of gamesmanship for man conversation for many years, even yesterday. After reading that stories of how that missed opportunity changed his life and career, kind of makes you think of how important sports are in our society, world for that matter. I'm glad he landed on his feet. When all else fails, your loved ones are there for you in most cases. I'll never forget the name, but now I won't forget how something like that can change your life even though everything went well before that incident. Janet Jackson had a song, "what have you done for me lately?"
  17. And how many did they win? They would have won in 1990 against the Giants if not for Scott(My Man)Norwood....wide right!
  18. 2-0 is a good place to be. Next up, New England, I'd love to see you beat them. I really do get tired of hearing how good Brady is. He's not so good when someone is in his face. The QB gets all the Glory win winning, but the guys you don't hear about are the Offensive line, which if they are bad, the QB usually isn't so good.
  19. I worked in the World Trade Center complex in one of the smaller buildings as a teenager at the US Customs house. I was there the day when a Frenchmen walked between the 2 towers one day( I didn't know it, I saw it in the paper the next day). Frenchman walks between twin towers It was an amazing place. malls underneath and that's where I caught my train out to Queens after work. I can remember working nights on Wall street and approaching the the buildings and looking up and feeling that I had accomplished something in my life since I escaped the grip of poverty and was providing for my young family. One night, I was walking to the subway and a man was standing on the subway stairs pleasuring himself ... Ididn't have to go into that entrance I can rememeber in the summer at lunch time there would be concerts everyday. I rememeber going on fridays which was Jazz day and I saw Special EFX for the first time and liked their music. My last job in NYC in 1989, I was one block away from the tower I don't know for sure, but I'm sure the building at 101 Barclay Street was probably damaged heavily, as it was all glass. There were so many good and bad experiences over the years for me... the worst of course was 9/11. Still makes me mad when I see it in old movies. Still unbeleivable. Changed America forever.
  20. I drove with my wife for over a year. first helping her prepare for the driver test. which she took about 9 months after she started to learn, she passed 1st attempt. I would let her drive to work and then oneday, she drove herself to work. I would ask her to call me once she got there so I would she was ok. It wasn't as easy as it sounds, it was stressful and difficult. but what in life worthwhile is easy? One night she called about 11:30pm and said the put up a detour ... good thing I knew the area and was "eventually" able to tell her a different way home. Now she gets on the highway by herself, her son told me, she drives slow. I don't ride with her when she drives, she says I make her nervous. she has been driving for about 2 years now and she does well.
  21. Vey cool, Priceless! May you have many more. Happy Anniversary!
  22. I'm curious, isn't it a little late for the manure? or will this be in preparation for next season?
