I had a very similar situiation as your SO about the birth certificate. I was born in 1976, and I don't have a hospital birth certificate as the newborns get now in China. If your SO can contact her birth hospital and find her birth info, that will be a way to let hospital issue a certificate. But I end up got a birth certificate from Pai Chu Suo of my Hukou(»§¿ÚËùÔÚµØÅɳöËù) through a friend, who knows the leader of my Pai Chu Suo very well. Which means Pai Chu Suo do not obligate to issue it for me. it simply lists that when and where I was born; both my parents' name and birth dates. Then i took this piece of paper to the notary office, they notarized it for me. That was all i need.

It took me 1 and a half year to get through this process! Too Long!! But, anyway I just got the email update a couple days ago and today I got the mail that my 10 year green card is approved and will be send to my in the next 60 days. Merry X'mas Everybody!!!

Thanks Randy£¡ I called USCIS£¬ obviously the guy took my call had no more information then i do although he checked around for several minutes on the computer. So I decided to make a infopass appointment, since i will take a trip in september when my now green card will be expired by then. Next Tuesday will be my infopass day. Hi There are three things you can do - the InfoPass appt, file an CIS ombudsman case, and write your congressman. You can space them out one every three months (like we did for Jiaying's case), or try all at once. Sen John Cornyn is the only congressman who actually read and responded to what we said, although in the end, he simply passed along what the USCIS told him. The other two (Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison and Rep. John Culberson - same as yours) responded with what they were doing about illegal immigration. They'll probably respond more quickly to your inquiries - for us, they used the excuse of their "improved service" because of the fee increases to not investigate.

I would call uscis, them may wait another 2 months to see. if still nothing happen i will be sure to have a infopass appointment. yuliki: Hang in there, I have seen cases like yours before. in fact my wife has a few friends here in the U.S. on a CR1 and it took them 12-14 months to get 10 year GC. My wife and I are also CR1 and just started the I-751. We have/had our Bois app for next week 7/7/09. But just yesterday we received a cancellation notice in the mail. Hi yuliki, I only get the Texas Service Center and the Vermont Service Center that lists the I-751 and their processing times are 6 months. I think I would call around and ask whose got your I-751,,over a year is way too long.you can also schedule an Info pass appointment and ask what is going on. Tom and Ling

Thanks very much! I don't want to get usa passport so quick, since i have famalies are still in China, and i do want to go back more often, so i would wait another couple years. I have seen a few go beyond 1 year, you can schedule an Info pass appointment and ask what is going on, as well as get an I-551 stamp. Another thing you can do is file an N-400 if you have been married and living with a US citizen for 3 years since getting your first green-card, USCIS cannot start working on the N-400 before the I-751 has been approved, this tends to get them to jump start the stalled I-751.

I couldn't find the USCIS Processing Time Information for our California Service Center on USCIS website at all. https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDis...e=serviceCenter and my case has been over 1 year. is it too long? Thanks!

Hi - good to here from you again. They took so long processing Jiaying's AOS that we got the 10 yr card instead. Should be good. I believe CSC is faster these days Thanks Randy very much! How are you doing? I knew Jiaying had changed her job. We are still busy with our house remodeling. Hopefully we can invite you come back this summer with comfortable dinner table set up.

Yesterday, got a letter from USCIS, is notified that my case had been transfered from VM service center to CS service center. Anybody knows that means faster or slower? Thanks!!

Thanks again Daniel! It looks i'd better get a stamp cause i want to stay in China for almost half year. Of course, i will wait to March or April to see what is going on of the process of my I-751. Yep, just the letter and expired green-card. Note it is not extending your visa, it extends your permanent resident card (Green-Card), the visa was canceled long ago when you entered the USA, or were approved for the green-card in the case of K-3. Note: The letter is only valid for 1 year, if approval of I-751 has not happened by then, then schedule an info pass appointment to get an I-551 stamp in passport to provide evidence of permanent residence status beyond the 1 year extension.
