  1. Thanks, Eric I got your PM. I have talked to Phil. He got someone who had to take time off work, but I'll talk to him again to find out more details. I need to know if anyone has ever asked to schedule at a specific office? If I requested L.A. would it delay everything?
  2. Thanks everyone. CFL has always been here for support, thanks to all of you. It looks like I'll have to shell out a hundred bucks or so for someone who can "properely" translate. Now I just sit back and wait for the next appointment. I was told that I could request the interview in L.A. or Orange Co. where they have Chinese IO's. I wouldn't mind doing that , but I'm not quite sure how, or if it would delay everything even more.
  3. You would have to be there to believe it. Yonghua did not get a chance to get one word out of her mouth. The officer brought us into his cubicle and had us all stand. He asked our translator a couple questions, then. . . I swear I am not making this up - - he had her raise her right hand and swear to tell the truth, etc, etc. She said, "I do." Then, he had Yonghua and I raise our right hands. He then spoke even faster -- do you swear to tell the truth blah blah blah and tagged with "interprete!" Our poor translator didn't say anything because she wasn't sure what he was asking. Even I was unsure because he spoke so fast. He then said, "this interview is over and I am going to reschedule it. This young lady obviously does not know enough English to translate the oath." I said, I believe she does, but, I don't think she understood what you were requesting. He said, "I'm conducting this interview and what I say goes. Have a seat outside." Our translator can speak English and I can easily understand her, but it wasn't good enough for him. Neither my wife or I had a chance to say anything or show any documents. Later, I apologized to my wife for his behaviour. That's the least I could do. I have met with nothing but resistence in this whole immigration process, so why should this be any different? So, we will be rescheduled within two weeks, but It could be another month or so after we receive the notice. I have to find someone who can translate, but they are hard to find around here. She asked several of her friends; they were all "too busy" to help. I was much more upset about this than my wife. She's a little lady with a very strong attitude. And so it goes. Thank you all for your kind support as always. To be continued . . .
  4. Interview for Green Card is at 12:00 Noon. I think I have everything together. And away we go . . . !! I will post results later.
  5. Good luck to you Carl. I hope it is speedy for you. If I might ask, how deep did they get into your pockets for this?
  6. Thanks for the article Jim. This is one area that definately needs improvement. B)
  7. Yimi - finally! Good for you and congratulations to you both. Ours comes up on 2/4. I can only hope it goes as smoothly.
  8. Congratulations! I know the stress and excitement of an overcome victory. I see that you are from So.Cal. Check out this link and maybe we can all get to meet you sometime. http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=8687
  9. Jim is right. Good luck to you.
  10. Buy some fruit trees and let her plant a vegetable garden.
  11. Here you go!!!!!! http://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-I-864.pdf Thank you much, I appreciate it.
  12. Can anyone direct me to samples of the I-864? I want to get it right the first time. Thanks
  13. That's true and I always thought that being "touched" was better than gathering dust.
  14. Nate Go to this link and you can see examples of the pink slip, blue slip, etc. http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19303
  15. Good luck, Yimi! Be sure to check my thread on "Sealed Envelope." I hope it clears up some things for you; it did help me. Ron
  16. I sent in the civil surgeons "sealed" envelope with the AOS application. Don't they already have it? I don't have any "sealed" envelope. Someone ... anyone? Her medical exam was in the sealed envelope that she turned in at the POE. You only need to provide the vaccination supplement I-693A (also in a sealed envelope), which your civil surgeon has. Randy, are you saying I have to go back to the civil surgeon and get "another" sealed envelope? I sent in the one he gave me.
  17. A couple of us who are facing the AOS interview (Yimi included) have a question about the "sealed envelope." The instructions state: I sent in the civil surgeons "sealed" envelope with the AOS application. Don't they already have it? I don't have any "sealed" envelope. Someone ... anyone?
  18. Randy, we don't have EAD, that's probably the reason. I'm even having a hassle getting her on my bank account without a green card.
  19. Mike, we tried that and they told us she has to have the green card before they will issue a California I.D. My wife got her SS card right away, for all the good it does. It has a restriction on it.
  20. Good site, Mike -- thanks. I found what I wanted. My wife thanks you too.
  21. Thanks, Mike. I did find them. They originally came from the 001 site. Anyway, the questions dealt with the interview in GUZ. Not really what I was looking for. I understand at AOS they ask a lot of personal questions such as: does your husband drink coffee? What kind of movies does he like? etc, etc. By the way, Yimi, I am bringing a translator just in case.
  22. I used to have the link to the interview questions in Chinese, however, I can't find it. Does anyone know if AOS interview questions also exist in Chinese? Please post any links you have. Thanks
  23. I have to add my 2 cents here. I agree with the OP. The illegals don't have to prove any of this stuff. In fact, our politicians want to give them amnesty and driver's licenses. Yet, we who try to follow the law, have to prove over and over and over again that we have a legitimate relationship. The OP wasn't talking about illegals at all...so it's hardly relavant... but I will ask: - How does USCIS know 2 years later what the relationship is like? - How else can there be a check and balance to what both USCIS and DOS has allowed in the issue of an immigrant visa? I find this not just acceptable but a legitimate step... in fact, I almost feel they should do it after 4 years, not 2... Most anyone will wait out the 2 years for a GC. Anyway, one supplies proof that the relationship IN THE US is ongoing and valid. I don't really think this is asking too much... Hi David and Happy New Year I didn't mean to infer that the OP was talking about "illegals." I was, and was just trying to show the irony in this whole process. I would like to know how many feel that the immigration service deals a fair hand to everyone?

  25. It has to be a non-relative?? I was going to bring daughter along, age 16 by then!! Read these posts and decide for yourself. Some say it's ok and others say don't do it. http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=25728
