  1. Congratulations! You have launched. Have a good trip and be patient.
  2. Thanks Lance. Yes, I very familiar with USCIS. I guess there is just frustration abound here. My wife wants to work and our government won't let her. She keeps asking me "when, when, when?"
  3. My wife got her card in the mail very soon after we went and applied at the SS office. The worker didn't want to issue it at first and I had to go to a supervisor. Luckily, the supervisor knew the rules. It does have a restriction printed on the front which reads: "Valid for work only with DHS authorization."
  4. I know this has been discussed before, but I'll bring it up again. When I check USCIS and their "online" case search, I get this message: "This Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct." The receipt number is correct. Why do they have this search function if it cannot find the receipt number? Just wondering where they are in processing my wife's GC.
  5. Mike and Rong, you guys deserve a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!
  6. Excellent, Dave. A big congratulations. Now, enjoy it.
  7. Steve, congratulations to you and your Hunny! Best Wishes!
  8. Great news, Juette and Wendy We are happy for you and glad that things are moving along smoothly. Yonghua and I want to say hello to Wendy. You both helped Yonghua when she lost her father. I'll talk to you later. Ron
  9. Chilton, sorry to hear all of this. I would think your lawyer could do something. After all, he's probably getting paid good money. Keep up the fight, Chilton.
  10. Congratulations on your Pink. Yea, these are the bastards that make it hard for those who are trying to follow the law.
  11. Well, so much for civil surgeons. A friend of mine just got his wife's green card and they never went to a civil surgeon. He said they completely skipped that part of it. Good for him, but go figure.
  12. Well I'll be damned! I've read about this happening many times on VJ but didn't particularly believe in it. I'm a believer now. My wife had her biometrics done today. I checked about an hour after we got home and the case still wasn't online. I just checked now and lo-and-behold, the case status is finally in the damn system now. After 50+ days, it's finally showing up online! I still don't believe every case will be updated after the biometrics--as I've read some posts on VJ where after biometrics the applicants still didn't get their case info entered online--but at least in my wife's case, it did indeed finally get entered into the system after her biometrics appointment. Good luck to you all! Congratulations, Lance! B)
  13. I also have an MSC number. Biometrics was yesterday. It will not accept my number as well on USCIS website.
  14. Good luck to you Lance. I hope everyone who is going through this gets a well run office like we did. Oh yea, Jim, that avatar - it helped to have the setting sun at Newport and to have PhilB's wife Yun Yun take the picture. I'm handsome enough, I don't need no stinkin lighting.
  15. Just got back from biometrics. Piece of cake. I must say that the government office we went to was one of the most efficient I've ever seen. They not only knew what they were doing, but everyone there was polite. They even had us fill out a survey to grade them on their service. I gave them "Excellent" across the board. I guess it all depends on what office you go to and how well it is managed. Now, I guess it's to wait for the interview.
  16. Talk about timing! We got the NOA1's today and the biometrics is scheduled for tomorrow.
  17. Way to go! Congratulations!
  18. Is there more than one thing a guy has to keep in his pants? Congratulations!
  19. I'm late too, but congratulations anyway. Best Wishes!
  20. Thanks Jim Yes, I did fill out the form you suggested, so that must be why I received the two letters. We have to go to Riverside on 9/5. When is our next soiree'?
  21. Received two letters (identical) from USCIS that my wife's biometrics appointment is in a couple weeks. I'm not sure what happens after that -- probably more waiting. I'm thinking that CFL members have to be the most patient people in the world.
  22. tsap seui On so many posts on CFL, I've often wished that I could help, but lacked the experience and hadn't "been there and done that." However, I have been in your boat. I know exactly how you felt then and now. It tears your guts out. But, you have handled it gracefully and wisely. I say "wisely" because I know some would fire off a few rounds while there and make it worse on themselves. Now, you do the waiting game again, but the time will pass quickly. As many others have said, one day you will look back on it all and not realize where the time has gone. It was only this last March that my wife got her blueslip. Right now that seems like 10 years ago. Just keep preparing for her arrival; she will be there soon. Best Wishes!
  23. Sorry I got a little pissy. I had a rough night. Please forgive.
  24. Congratulations and Best Wishes!
  25. Would you all please excuse me for this terrible blunder. I would think it all depends on where you're coming from. To some it's rising and to some it's falling. It's getting so you can't say anything without some "expert" jumping in and trying to make you feel like an idiot for posting in the first place. Shit guys, all I did was make a simple graph to show the value of the RMB over the past few years. Excuse me for the misinformation.
