  1. Well the ceremony went great but the trip to the post office to get her passport request sent to my passport service was hell, why do people with a little authority have be such jerks! Well of coarse after jerking us around it was determined I was right and we got the packet next day delivered to my passport service. We should get the passport back in 5 to 10 days and then we'll be ready to send it off for a Chinese 10 visa. We ended the day with a big dinner party at a local restaurant for family and friends.
  2. After talking to a visa company they told me I was pretty much on my own getting the first visa for Li Hong to go to China. he wasn't 100% sure of the proses but thought she may have to go to the embassy in Chicago and Renounce her citizenship to China. I am looking at expediting her passport $$$ but am wondering if China would still hold things up so she can't make it to China for the New Year. Lucky it come late this year! Please help with your process and time line. Thanks! Bill & Li Hong
  3. Li Hong passed her Citizenship Interview yesterday! Oath should be in Dec.
  4. We are filling out my wife's N-400 and it asks about total days outside the USA per trip and total. If you leave the USA at Noon on the 1st and land in China on the 2nd at 3:00 PM, then leave China at 5:00PM on the 10th and return to the USA at 5:00PM and the 10th, How many days were you outside the USA? 10? 9? 8?
  5. What area of KC do you live? I live in Independence and work in OP. I hope you have made it to my favorite Real Chinese places here, Sichuan Dynasty on 119th in Olathe next to Oklahoma Joe's.
  6. Can you use the I-131 multipal times in the one year or two years? Coming home after 7 months and then again when coming home after 5 months. If you don't HAVE to thave one for less thean one year, what good does a one year permit do for you, other than make them $445. I see that the N-470 is $330 too.
  7. She will be acompanying me on a one year work assignement by my company, and we'll be returning to the USA with me in 7 months for Xmas. It's a lot of money, but................?
  8. Does my wife w/10 year green card need to file any paper work if she's going to be outside the USA for say 6 to 9 months?
  9. Li Hong recieved her 10 year GC today!!! Now just sit back and enjoy life!
  10. Congratulation! That was the first word on the letter Li Hong received yesterday in the mail for USCIS informing her she was approved to have her conditions removed on her GC. It said her new GC will be coming in the next 60 days, sooner I think. I hope the rest of you receiving RFE have as quit and finalizing results.
  11. I mailed our RFE on April 4th and it was delivered on April 6th. We'll see how long this will take to finish our ROC.
  12. Five of use have recieved Request For Evidence even after submitting many of the items listed above. A couple of things I noticed on the RFE that were not listed was my DL's and 6 months of joint bank statements, Front and back copies of any checks issued to you AND/OR your spouse. I would like to post the RFE letter here if I can.
  13. Is there a way for me to attach or post the RFE form letter we receiced. it would help others going into a I-751 to submit more than the I-751 instruction state. I must admit it asked for some things that I don't remember in the I-751, like the last 6 months bank statements, copy of my DL's....., This could be posted with the "Sticky" How To File An I-751 that I followed.
  14. We got a RFE today instead of the approval we were hoping for We are in a similar situation as my house is paid for and all utility bills are in my name. We owe no one money and the CC is in my name. She does not work but does go to ESL classes at our local school, I'll see about getting a copy of her school papers from them showing our address. Let's face it the days of mailing poeple information or receipts are about gone. Maybe she needs a Face Book account and friends to provide she exists!!! The sheet did request something we had not sent them before, a copy of my drivers liscense. We will resend all of the tax and finatial records along with new tax receipt of my house and vihicals. I also have a freash letter from the state of Kansas to the both of use about our 2010 taxes and a copy of my 2011 Fed tax form. We will send new pictures of us with todays news paper and our house, friends and family! I hope that does it.
  15. We showed up at Immigration about 3:15, I think they stop working at 3:30 and go home at 4:00, so they said we just made it in time. Of course there were no other patrons there so we got right in. 10 min.s and we were on our way. We got her MO ID re-upped that morning so she's feeling pretty good about leaving the country, she'll be going home for the New Year and her BD. We are very lucky!
  16. Thanks all, tomorrow is my every other friday off , it's up by the airport and it will make my wife happy. What can I say! I'll let you know how it works out.
  17. My wife's on me to go in earlier than the listed appointment date on the letter for her bio appoint letter because a friend of a freind did this. I guess they checked with the office and they said it was OK if you came in the afternoon when they weren't so busy. Anyone try this or your thoughts?
  18. I didn't see it as I scanned though the posts on this thread but the price went up sense I ran my I-751 instruction and what's listed on the first post, not sure when, but its $505 for I-751 and $85 each for Bio's
  19. The letter sounds pretty good at first but per the instructions you need a I-193 (Application of Waiver of Visa) form. It show a fee of $585!!!!
  20. Can she get the I-551 stamp at the USA office in Beijing? We'll be there when the GC expires and receiving the I-751 receipt letter.
  21. I don't plan on being gone for more than one year with a couple of vists back to the USa during that time. I don't plan on going through the visa process again. I will work my way around that with my job. I will get a I-131 just in case. If there is no interview with RC, is there other reasons for visiting the USCIS office? Finger printing or something. Maybe I don't understand how RC is handled other than sending in the I-751 w/supporting documents. How long , in general, is the time between filing the I-751 and receiving the new GC? I don't feel good about having her out of the country with an expired GC even if we have a receipt. I'm not worried about POE but the Chinese letting her get on the plane. Do they understand the one year extension with receipt of an I-751? Thanks!
  22. I know I had asked a similar question a while back but my company is wanting me to go work in China for a year. I know we may need to come back to the USA for the interview but now I'm wondering if my wifes time out of the USA this year is a concern. She was gone for the new year for 49 days and then we went back to China on vacation in May for 19 days. Now we are planning on going back to China for me to work. My company is talking about sending me over there in Aug. or Sept. The question is with her being out of the country quite a bit this year. Is there a minimum about of time she needs to be in the USA this year or over the time of the two year green card so there's no problem having conditions removed. We have and will continue to have our home in the USA and file taxes here too. Thanks!
