  1. My fiancee just received her first letter from the embassy.  They asked her to send them her work resume before setting up the k-1 interview.  Is this a common request or is it something to worry about?

    Thanks,

    John

I am very troubled by this GUZ request. The mere existence of this request strongly supports the conclusion that petitions are being reviewed (and potentially targeted for denial or a blue slip) before the actual interview takes place.

We are talking about a "visa PROCESS". I have always believed and certainly hoped that the cases are reviewed multiple times before the interview. The interview is the final step in the process, not the end in itself.

As such I am very happy each time I see evidence of case review prior to interview.

  2. Man, brother I dont mean to sound rude. You should have just done it yourself. I mean if you read the stuff on uscis web page and research some things yourself you really dont need one. I didnt use a lawyer, and my wifes interview is in June. I have a high school edjucation. Although I dont mean to judge by saying that, i'm not that particularly smart, although smart enough to know that lawyers only want your money. Like a prostitute. I can see if there is an issue that you need to use a lawyer, well use a lawyer. This stuff isnt so complicated that you need one. Did you already pay the guy? You could take him to small claims court for your money back, but then court fees and (lawyer fees) if you really want to try to prove to the court that your current attorney did you wrong, you might not get back what you paid them. Stick it out, wait for the NOA1 to come in. If there is a problem they will ask you what they need. Good luck mate, hang in there. Lawyers are evil, you know that right?

  3. After some 57 days of daily calling I was informed this morning that my wifes interview date has been established. I was also informed the P-4 was mailed out. Interview is in June, man I cant remember if she said 5th or 6th, I was whooping and thanking God. It just so happens I talked with B.J., she is the woman I have mostly been talking with at DOS and it was fitting I hear it first from her.

  4. Just a thought, but if someone asks me a question and i follow it up with a threat, Your help would be greatly appreciated as many of us are willing to assist in lobbying US Government officials to increase funding for GUZ to meet the current workload. I'd probably be evasive or get mad and not answer it. Its more a question of human psychology and tact. =) just my 2 cents really.

  5. Hey man, why dont you call your boss and see if he will compose a letter, sign it then fax it to you. if you have somewhere you can recieve a fax. I mean, for last notice on something like that, I dont know. Do like they said, just keep a straight face and deal with it if it comes up. Also about the fax, the rules strickly say, unless we ask for orignials you need only send copies. So fax is a copy right?

  6. I have been waiting for 5 months now... :(

I emailed my senator a couple of times, called them and left messages but no one has got back to me...:(

It looks like there's nothing I can do but wait...

    Hello,

You should go to your representatives local office and talk to the person directly that handles immigration inquiries. Get a commitment for a status back from them. I have all these addresses and phone numbers ready in case I hit a glitch.

I ran into something so completly mind boggling, so far off from right field , calling DOS today. The kindly woman told me, "oh I remember you, and im really sorry there is still no interview scheduled. I'm very sorry this is taking so long" OMG I actually called a person with a heart. B.J. I love ya =)

  7. Ok, just so you know. On the fax, i put down my wifes name, her GUZ case number, her birthdate, my name and my relation to her. I told them about calling DOS and what they relayed to me. then I explained her son is in custody by her ex husband and we do not need a visa for him. i told them i just want the visa for my wife so she can come and we can start a family and a life together, then i pasted the part about 21A question 14 and 15, and NONE. thats about it. nothing else. was that too much or not enough? It was 1 pages cause i double spaced everything to make it easier to read. =)

I think the bottom line here is that your son CAN accompany your SO to the US with the necessary paperwork and an interview, up to one year later. This is irrespective of your answer to 21A. GUZ will leave this door open.

As long as your SO's paperwork is complete, she will be scheduled for an interview, and your son MAY attend, but doesn't have to if he is not going.

If the GUZ asks for additional information, provide it. Otherwise, all you can do is to stock up on Cheetos.

All DOS can do is relay what they see on their computers. Official notification of anything will come from the GUZ.

Unfortunately if there is a question about 21a they will stop all processing until the question is answered to their satisfaction, in our case we got held up about 7 weeks and I was fortunate in receiving an email from them instead of waiting for a letter.

GZ usually leaves question 21b open for children just in case things change and I'd bet that saves them a bunch of grief in the process.

I do recall a number of people having problems a year or so back with the children not being included in the P-3 and now it seems to be reversed.

We, the honest and law-abiding citizens have to wait for nine months to two years to legally bring our immigrant SO's into this country.

Why don't we just sneak them over the border, wait 2 years, and let them become citizens the "Republican" way??????

Ok, I am jet-lagged and crabby to beat hell, but ya know what? The satisfaction of working within the system and getting her and her daughter here will be well worth it.

Ahhhh, the school system. I feel another headache coming on....

yeah don't get me started on that BS.

I guess the Chinese mindset of Naixin isn't a powerful enough lobby tool compared to a bunch of admitted illegal aliens flying foreign flags in protest of being denied legal status.

Illegals of any nationality piss me off, but then we're just preaching to the choir, eh?
