  1. I believe you are all set, you have paid the $380 IV Fee. When I paid the IV Fee it was $335, then they increased the fee another $45 while we were waiting, so my wife had to pay the $45 fee on the day of her interview.
  2. Kaige, I have flown United from Chicago to Beijing and then onto Chongqing on China Air five times and never had a problem. There is plenty of time between connections both ways. Hope you enjoy your trip to the Mountain City!
  3. I would call the Secretary Of State's office in Minnesota and find out how they certify or authenticate the single certificate. In Massachusetts, you could either go directly to their office or mail it to them and they would mail it back.
  4. Jakerhod, some states require contractors to have a license. I would tell them a license is not required in your state. Maybe you can provide some other proof of your business like a bank statement, credit card bill, newspaper advertisement or yellow page listing. Plus, your tax returns should show them a history of your business. No matter whether you are a sole proprietor, partnership or a corporation, there is information about your business on all these returns. Good luck, hope everything goes smoothly!
  5. I would stick with the K-1. My wife's K-3 & CR-1 took 17 months due to a delay at the VSC.
  6. I think GZ is getting most of the interviews done in the morning now. Hopefully, you will hear some good news soon. Good Luck!
  7. My wife didn't have to show a receipt for her CR-1 visa fee. She did have to pay a $45 visa surcharge at her interview because the visa fee increased from $335 to $380 during the long wait. If you paid the $380, your wife should be all set, don't sweat it.
  8. The Social Security Card could be helpful if she seeks employment, wants to open a bank account, obtain credit, get a driver's license, file taxes with the IRS or buy insurance. We took her passport, birth certificate and green card to the Social Security Office. If you don't have the green card yet, I think the CR1 visa stamp will suffice.
  9. If you check the visa stamp in her passport, you should see a line typed, serves as a temporary I-551. My wife's permanent resident card "green card" came in the mail about two weeks after she arrived.
  10. My wife came on a CR1 Visa. When we filed the DS-230 Part II, we checked off the two boxes to request a SS card. Her green card came in 14 days, but after waiting over a month, she never received her SS card. We went to the local Social Security Office and they checked the computer and nothing was ever done, so she applied in the local office and has received her number. I just wanted to give other CR-1 applicants a heads-up not to count on receiving the SS card just because you checked the box on the DS-230. Maybe it would be a better idea to immediately go to your local SS office and apply there.

    Delta Bankrupt

United Airlines has been bankrupt for awhile and are still flying. Hopefully, you will have no problem with your flight. Delta is probably trying to get concessions from their Unions. All the major airlines are in trouble.
  12. Your wife will have to pay a $45 visa surcharge fee at the consulate on the morning of her interview because the visa fee has increased to $380.
