    she sounds SCARY

My wife had a similar experience. She said the Chinese clerk who processed the papers was rather rude, but the VO who conducted the interview was very friendly. I had heard of the Black Pearl and others and purposely did not tell my wife about them. I did not want her to be scared and freeze up at the interview. We actually ran into an a.. hole Immigration Officer at Chicago O'Hare during the POE. They have you sit and call you one by one to be fingerprinted. Well, he pronouced my wife's name wrong and I said I think he might have called you. We were gathering up our carry-on luggage and walking to his booth and he shouts "hurry up". He had the thickest Russian accent, I thought we might have accidently landed in Moscow. I wanted to grab him by the collar and pull out of the booth and tell him "He sould learn to speak English", but I bit my tongue and waited for her passport to be stamped and we got the hell out of there!!
  2. SHE PASSED!!! We arrived at the new visa center at 7:15 AM. There were about 50 people waiting outside. Thank God there was no rain. Her appointment was for 8:00 AM, so she was told to wait in a special area within the barricades. At 7:50, they called her name, looked at her passport, appointment letter and gave her a red number ticket. I accompanied her to the 4th floor security screening area. This is as far as the American SO can go until 10:00 AM. Then we are allowed access to the ACS section. I waited in the coffee shop on the fourth floor. There is also a coffee shop and small Chinese restaurant on the first floor. My wife came out at 10:10 and met me at the coffee shop. I asked her if she was finished or had to return? She said, she was finished and pretended she would have to stay in Chongqing forever. Then, she told me, She Passed! I forgot to look at the purple paper in her hand. The Visa Officer was a friendly America man in his thirties with brown hair. He smiled a lot. He asked: 1. Can I see your passport in Chinese 2. How did you meet him? 3. Do you speak English? 4. Do you have any Children? 5. Will child stay in China? 6. Where does husband live? 7. How many times he come to China? 8. Okay, you passed with smile She he 20 RMB Post Office fee at a window in the visa center. Visa should be at PO in 2 days.
  3. Yes, I will be there to support my dear wife. She will arrive before me to have the medical exam and vaccinations.

    New Visa Facility

King, thank you for the information.
  5. I am curious if GZ will be changing the location of the China Post Office where you must pay the visa pick-up fee from Shamian Island to one closer to the New Visa Processing Center in the Tianhe District? I hope we can hear some experiences about the new center which opened today.
  6. EdG, My wife's K3 and CR1 arrived at GZ fairly close in time. And they are proceeded with the CR1. If GZ has not completed your K3 and the CR1 arrives, they will drop the K3 and proceed with only the CR1 which I believe is a better visa and means less paperwork for you in the future.
  7. I live in Massachusetts and noticed that the Onesuite local access number has been busy the past two days. It took me a few times to get a free line. Usually, I connect on the first try.
  8. Carl, I think you are all set with your CR-1 Visa Fee because you have paid the $380. It was $335 when I paid our CR-1 Visa Fee, but my wife will have to pay a $45 visa surcharge before her interview. Her P4 notice only says to pay at post, but nothing about paying at a special bank like the K-1 Visa Fees. I will try to go to the consulate to pay it.
  9. Hi Doug, well, if they eliminated the fee, it is good news for those who are following. I noticed they were still charging it on June 25th. I checked the DOS website today and they listed it as being increased from $65 to $70. It would be nice if the right hand knew what the left hand was doing.
  10. Toad, I paid the $65 fee to the Dept. Of State, National Visa Center. They sent me the bill before I received the I-864 form. It sounds like you have already received the I-864, so maybe the DCF is a little different than filing here in the US? The fee is only charged if the Affidavit Of Support is reviewed domestically, here in the US. Coming to the U.S. Permanently - Immigrant Services Description of Service and Fee Amount Filing an immigrant visa petition (Collected for USCIS and subject to change) Petition, USCIS, Form I-130 to classify status of alien relative for issuance of immigrant visa: $185.00 Petition to classify orphan as an immediate relative, USCIS Form I-600 : $525.00 Immigrant visa application processing fee (per person), Form DS-230 : $335.00 Immigrant visa security surcharge, for all IV and DV applicants: $45.00 Affidavit of Support Review (only when AOS is reviewed domestically), Form I-864 : $70.00 http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_1263.html
  11. A.4.1.2 I-864 (Affadavit of Support) -- for CR-1 You are going to need to sign page 6 of the I-864 in front of a public notary before you mail it in. After the DS3032 and I-864 is the DS230. Affidavit of Support(1-864) processing Fee Bill for $65.00 Welcome Toad, you did not find the fee listed by the USCIS because it is a DOS fee for reviewing the I-864. I believe the fee has now been increased to $70.00
  12. nine weeks after the fees for the visa, etc., as in CASE COMPLETE ??? 139774[/snapback] Hank, I updated our timeline, maybe it will be easier to follow. Actually, the last document I returned to NVC was the DS-230 Part I on March 8th and the Case was Completed at NVC on April 4th, so it was about four weeks.
  13. Hank, for our CR-1, it took the NVC about 9 weeks after we had sent everything for them to approve it and forward it to GZ.
  14. MARI, speaking as someone with a public safety, law enforcement and security background, I would be very careful about starting any immigration business until after your SO has completed the process. You don't want the USCIS investigating your true intentions. Believe me, there are plenty of other things that can slow down or delay the process, you don't need them suspecting fraud. Please understand, I am not questioning your motives. I know immigration legal fees can be excessive for sometimes incompetent work. It would be nice if couples had a more reasonable alternative. Just carefully investigate your state's laws and wait until your SO has completed the process. I wish you Good Luck with the immigration process and your business opportunity.
