Houston Consulate visa page Try a visa or travel agency, if they won't help you at the consulate. -

Interview date set ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Randy W replied to m-coon's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
My understanding is that the financial information is for the form I-134 which is taken to the interview. If the VO wants to look, he will ask. Send bank statements, brokerage statements, receipts for house payment, reference letters from bank and employer - everything asked for in the I-134 form, anything that indicates financial stability, net worth, and income. I am unable to be at my SO's interview, since I have no more vacation time. Congratulations!! -
I agree with Lee. I think the same students will do well under either system
-
My approach is to provide everything called for on the form - the letterhead, paycheck stubs, and tax return indicate employment and steady income. I also included recipts for the house payment, brokerage statements, and bank statements (and letterhead). The 401K stuff, I believe, is not asked for, but, of course, could be tossed in. I believe you have these things available just in case the VO asks for them.

Sorry for the confusion - his father has custody of the son, he is 18 and has chosen to NOT come to the US. I'll still try to clarify with the GUZ that he doesn't need to come to the interview.

This was the OTHER answer I was looking for - I have emailed GUZ to (hopefully) resolve that matter ahead of time. Thank you, again

Sorry for the bad news. Best wishes to overcome!

Shanghai Visa Center Trouble?
Randy W replied to castaway109's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
The GUZ already enters information for the NVC on the computer - if this is the same information available to Shanghai, then we would be paying for information that is already available to us through the DOS phone lines. This would make it VERY difficult to get help with a specific issue. -

Or is the information available to SHanghai the same information the GUZ enters in the computer and is available to the NVC?? -

Quick question about pic requirements

Statistically speaking, there's a 50-50 chance that 2'' SQUARE means 2"x1", or 2"x2". -
WHO HAS INTERVIEW 11/21/05
Randy W replied to bobmal99's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
We are on the 22nd at 7:30AM. I don't have any vacation time left, unfortunately, so I won't be able to make it. She will be staying with relatives and seems to have things under control. Mark (mlspyl and Timeline) and Doug (Mengxin) are the two others. You guys get the approvals rolling for us! and Tian9426 on the 22nd! -
Airline Flights Leaving China
Randy W replied to BillV 8-16-2004's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
I expect to pay $1130 for a one-way from Beijing to Houston - pretty close to the round trip price - for a flight where she doesn't have to change planes outside of China. This saves me buying a round-trip ticket for myself to meet her at her port of entry, and gets her here a day earlier, since she can fly while I am still at work. Except for that requirement, the prices go down to to the $700's, and, like I said, close to the round-trip prces. Check fly-china and some of the other sites mentioned here. I've only checked Travelocity so far - she will check for prices in China. -

Does This Mean my NVC has been approved?
Randy W replied to Thomas Promise's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
It means it was approved by the INS and sent to the Dept of State's NVC(NOA2), . After processing there, it will be forwarded to Guangzhou. -
It almost seems like they fill the slots in inverse order - beginning at the end of the month, and working toward the 1st. The Nov. 21st dates were the first we heard about for Nov., now they are filling early Nov. I believe the same was true for Sept. and Oct. as well.

What can be brought for P4?
Randy W replied to Homeprincess's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
thanks guys. So will the I-134 form/employment letter be outdated in around five months? I just know it won't regarding the 2004 tax transcript/W2. I guess salary stubs have to be kept updated. I read David's list and he mentioned bringing all the submitted paperwork. Is this compulsory? Obviously GZ already has it in file. Thanks. 161111[/snapback] Six months is definitely out of date - I figure less than 2 months is appropriate. No - the previously submitted paperwork is not necessary - I believe they do have it at hand, but it doesn't hurt to be sure. -
