  1. In China every year is an election year. The grandstander is a US Senator, who was in the presidential race.
  2. "the Blue Kite" is one of those "Chinese Gone With the Wind" movies - very good
  3. Think of it as one, four-page document and don't worry about who gets what page.
  4. What were the circumstances here? Why? Was she sick? She had been exposed to TB as a child. She was required to take extra tests at her GZ physical and got a clean bill of health there. USPHS followed up once she was in the US and asked for the GZ x-rays. This is the only report we've ever gotten of someone being asked for the x-rays - I guess the Public Health Service was alerted by the USCIS.
  5. Here is the direct link to the Washington state Chinese manual http://www.dol.wa.gov/cn/docs/TCH%20Comple...ver%20Guide.pdf and the English http://www.dol.wa.gov/driverslicense/driverguide.pdf It looks like they have them in Spanish, Korean, Russian, Viet Namese, and Japanese as well.

  7. Assuming you're a K-3 who applied for EAD separately, yes you will need another biometrics appt. Thr EAD biometrics are not enough for the green card.
  8. I think I still have both copies of the Washington manuals PM me with your email address and I'll get them to you. These are side-by-side, page-by-page English and Chinese translations
  9. If the expiration date is the same, the 90 day periods coincide. You may add her to your wife's form where it says about children, and pay just 1 fee.
  10. You must apply within the 90 day window prior to expiration of each green card. If the windows overlap, you can apply for both in that way. Otherwise, you must file separate applications. This is a little USCIS gotcha, just in case one of the 2 I-485 applications had been delayed for any reason. I am a little confused, what do you mean by "If the windows overlap"? Thanks What? Sorry - I had hit "Add Reply" too early - see my edit above.

Thanks You must apply within the 90 day window prior to expiration of each green card. If they have the same expiration date, the 90 day period coincide. If not, then the overlap period is smaller - if the expirations are more than 90 days apart, the windows do not over lap at all - 2 applications must be filed.
  12. You must apply within the 90 day window prior to expiration of each green card. If the windows overlap, you can apply for both in that way - one form, one fee. Otherwise, you must file separate applications, each with its own fee. This is a little USCIS gotcha, just in case one of the 2 I-485 applications had been delayed for any reason.
  13. From the OF 169 - http://www.candleforlove.com/FAQ/Forms/P3/OF169_English-1.pdf
  14. The "piece of s**t" story was from May, 2007, so it's not a new bill
  15. Without it, she will need to take the shots again
  16. It's unclear from your post, also. It sounds like all you need is proof of your mother's income. Doesn't your mother get a statement of some kind from her pension? A check stub? A 1099? Did you mean 1044 for your own return, or was it a 1099? You don't have W-2's because you were working in China. Explain this in a letter, and include it. I would re-send both I-864's. Explain that in a cover letter. You need to establish what your sources of income are. The RFE is a standard, cookie-cutter form that they send out to everybody. Don't waste any time getting confused by it.
  17. Sounds like COSTCO shoppers are doing some hoarding. The Asian market we shopped last Sunday still had their full aisle stacked with bags of rice. The rice market makes sure it will go to where those who can afford it can buy it. Period. The biggest factor in the shortage is the increasing price. Those who can afford to do so, and can store it and use it in a reasonable amount of time, are buying up what they can - the commercial accounts.
  18. Who is where? What passports do you each hold? Change whose L visa for what? You can marry anytime, anywhere you want, but if he or you are on a visitor's visa in the US, they will have to leave before the visa expires "apply domestic cr1 with this L visa if he can stay here more than one year?" - CR1 is American, L is Chinese. There is no connection. CR1 would take approximately one year from I-130 application to visa
  19. The I-130 CR-1 application is filed with the USCIS in the US. The Interview for this would take place at GUZ (her home consulate). If he also files the I-129F K-3 with the USCIS, THAT interview would take place in Hong Kong (the place where the marriage took place).
  20. Slow down here, people. He's a K-2, follow to join. The only requirement is that he interview for AND USE the K-2 visa within 1 year of the date his mother enters the US. Jim - not true. The K-2 can file the P-3 and 4 paperwork anytime during the 365 day period. But, yes, get married BEFORE he turns 18 so that the I-130 (filed by his step-father) can be used as a back-up in case the K-2 doesn't happen. Aging out is NOT an issue as long as the I-130 is FILED before his 21st birthday, IF it becomes necessary.
  21. Why not respond to the RFE? Seems like an InfoPass appt would either find out what it was for, or get a new one sent to her. If you want to get real sneaky, change her address to yours.
  22. You again. Hello, there! They would definitely need a work visa, for which they may or may not need to leave the country. They can't simply over-stay the visitors visa
