  1. HI.I think that white booklet is the notarization. I'm going to do this tomorrow. I went to the office today, and i saw those little booklets. they are white and look like books. you can ask your girlfriend to take the household register to the notary office. if the household register has all the family members on it, it's probally fine, the office will accept it and give you the "white booklet". I don't have the hospital certificate either, because my parents switched it into a" one child honer certificate¡® for me. (China has one child policy, and the government will give you an honer certificate if the parents are willing to have only one child.) so, i asked about the information from the local notary office, they said anything that can show you are the daughter of your parents is fine. so, don;t worry about that. I'm sure your gf can figure it out. Good luck.
  2. These guys always have done a good job for me!!! http://avschicago.com/ I also have used AVS for my last two visa's...but when i called and talked with them one week ago about getting a new visa, they told me i cannot get a visa without first having proof of round trip tickets already purchased and proof of hotel reservations for the duration of my stay.....they told me there were no exceptions to this new requirement....these restrictions went into effect April 14th, and will be in place until sometime in August when things return to normal....so i will be looking elsewhere.... My current visa is good until 18Sept08 then we may go back during a holiday?? So, Steve let me know if you find a cheaper and better service!! my boyfriend will also come here in late May, this time, we used a visa service, too.but we won't know the final result till tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.and he lives in C.A. so, once we got the information, i will tell u. hope everything goes well. they asked for round tickets, invitation letter and hotel stuff. we dunno whether ours will work fine.anyway , not so long. just wait till they give us the result. good luck to all.
  3. For us that have our tourist visa already do you think we will have a problem getting into China without having a hotel reservation? Should I have her send me an invite to visit and could this be done by email? I will also be entering China via Hong Kong. Hey Ironman, just flight itinerary and hotel reservations, you will be fine!! Did it the last 2 trips and no snags!! for ur question. my bf will be here in late May. this time is more difficult than before. last time when he came here, they asked for nothing.no round tickets and no hotel receipt. but this time, they asked for that. and i wrote him invitation letter two days ago. we are waiting for the result. dunno whether they will refuse assit him with china visa this time. and also since april 14th. tourist visa will just for one month. anyway, hope my answer can help you.
  4. It sounds like you are both in China. First of all, you can get him an L-relative visa if you are married. It's tricky about where you go to get it. You may have to go to your home province which is where you would have to go anyway to get married - you can do it all in one visit. However, there might be some complications with the Olympics, I know they have been making it difficult to switch visa types... Next, you can apply for a cr1 (DCF - direct consulate filing) after he has been in China for 6 consecutive months - I don't think it matters how long you have been married, although longer looks better. I hope this is the information you were looking for. thx for all the information. feel so bad now. i love olympic games. but, it makes everything harder for us. we will check whether we can get a travel visa first. and then deal with other things. thx for all. well the things we are worried about now is switching visa for him in china. he doesnt like to go back to america to renew it each month. it is a waste of time and money. even if they can allow us renew it each month here and pay them money is ok. we just wanna make sure whether he can renew his visa here in china. hmm. thx for upstairs.

  6. hey, everyone, i am new here. i have a question. well, first, i need to say something about my case. both my bf and i are students now. and he will graduate this may. i will graduate in 2009. we planed to apply work visa(f) for him first. someone can help us. but they need his degree. but we just know that he cant get his degree till 8 - 12 weeks after he finishes his classes. that is long. last time he came here was June, 2007. we wait so long time. cant suffer more. so, i wanna ask whether he can hold travel visa here, and then we will be married. after marriage whether we can change L visa for him in china if we bring our marriage certificate? and whether we can apply domestic cr1 with this L visa if he can stay here more than one year? please help us. thx.
