  1. Mexican food for us tonight - the Chinese restaurants are all too crowded.
  2. You just posted in it - http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...ost&p=92107 There is no petition - your parents apply directly at their consulate or embassy. Appointments are usually in the 30 day range. Check at their consulate.
  3. If they decide an interview is required, it will go through MSC. They sometimes change their minds. thanks Randy I could of paid a lawyer $$$$$ for that answer hey are you a lawyer ? How much do you pay? It's not that the California people don't like interviews. They LOOK at the cases at MSC and decide whether to send them to California or not.
  4. If they decide an interview is required, it will go through MSC. They sometimes change their minds.
  5. I'm pretty sure it's "A", since you need the I-130 for a K-4.
  6. Houston has another new one - Asia International Market - on Bellaire Blvd. near the Hong Kong Supermarket.
  7. Go here: Hong Kong Categories of Immigrant Visas click on the link: K3 - Certain spouses and minor children of a U.S. citizen This takes you to: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/ty...types_2993.html where it tells you:
  8. Thanks Randy, Man she is not going to like my answer. I told her maybe 30 days and she thought that was a long time. Maybe I can talk her into a nice new 50cc chopper. After 90 days I could ride it, I could use one at the track anyway. Check your state's requirements, though. Jiaying was able to get her DL and EAD cards on the same day
  9. She would most likely need an EAD card. Then study for (and pass) the written and driving tests. Tell her to NOT show her Chinese license, since they may want to keep it.
  10. Give it a break, Dan - he's a US citizen, and that will not be revoked because he lived/s in Canada. What are the ways you can lose citizenship? Treason? Anything else? I don't see any issue, but if they ask, you have an answer. He hasn't been "found to have abandoned your permanent resident status ".
  11. At least you know you'll never be wanting for toilet paper!
  12. Any reason why ? I have no idea. As the OP stated, its hard to get a hold of a warm body, at least a warm body that knows anything, and infopass has been useless. There were no problems at the interview. My status on the website was last updated Oct 07. I have no criminal history if in fact the FBI is checking me. The only flag I can think of is I have traveled to about 65 countries. contacted onbusman ? yes - do this. We had three different ways to rattle their cage. They all said to check back in 90 days, so that gave us one probe every month. Try the ombudsman, find a Congressman who will at least forward your inquiry to the USCIS and pass along the response, and schedule an InfoPass appointment. In our case, the first round got the response that they had just initiated the program where an AOS could be approved without waiting for the FBI background check and to wait and see if that would get it going. If you file a lawsuit, or file a Freedom of Information request, that can provide an excuse for them to do nothing while that request is being processed, although others have had luck with filing the writ of mandamus lawsuit.
  13. Before you talk him out of a visa, you may want to tell him what section you are quoting. I would find it hard to believe that this section is telling him to NOT submit what the VO is asking for, especially since he has submitted an I-134
  14. I-129F is a separate petition (requiring a copy of the receipt NOA1 for the I-130), which may only be submitted in the US (Chicago). Check timelines for Canada on Visa Journey, but I'll bet it's a lot slower than the I-130 DCF.
  15. You should PM Toplaw, Tony. His wife is from there, still has plenty of contacts, and, I'm sure would appreciate your interest in music.
  16. They have passed people with $0 taxable income before, but, like you say, comply or get off the bus - you need to find a co-sponsor.
  17. http://i28.tinypic.com/2mruqv6.jpg Congratulations !! http://i1.tinypic.com/3ygwmdz.gif
  18. . . . or MAYBE . . . . . . just MAYBE . . . Mark's K-1 fiance wants to MAYBE get married in Hong Kong and do a K-3 there.
  19. There are also Congressional elections - one third of the senate, and all of the House is up for election every 2 years. The power in thye Congress has changed hands twice (once in the House and once in the Senate) in the last 4 years. The Supreme court judges are nominated for life by the president, and approved by Congress.
  20. Read above that: Yes - here in the US, they do this at the ASC (Application Support Center)
  21. Make an InfoPass appointment to talk with an Immigrations officer http://infopass.uscis.gov/ Take all your documentation - they should be able to change it on the spot
  22. I often can't even answer that kind of questions about myself - for those "password reminder" questions, I started using the same 6 character answer no matter what the question was. Best way to handle these is to just remain cool, calm, and confident and have some kind of a response.
