  1. The interview appointment comes with the P4. Your appointment could be anywhere from 2 weeks after the arrival of P4 to six weeks. There is some sort of P3 for the I-130. The SO needs to fill out the DS-230 Part I and send it back. As well as sign the OF-169 (is that the right form number? Something like that. I have forgotten). Just wanted to clarify this for any new members reading.
  2. Congratulations and good luck at the interviews!!!!
  3. Congratulations and best wishes for your future together!

  6. Congratulations and good luck at the interview! That's great news! I know you were worried about her finishing before you have to go back to the states.

  10. I agree with everyone else. I've looked at DCF timelines. They are the quickest and like everyone said, you don't have to do Adjustment of Status once in the states.
  11. brutrigem is teaching in China and hasn't started the process yet. Only trying to get a handle on how the process works before starting. I think plans to apply CR-1.
  12. Congrats and good luck! We are just five days after you guys!
  13. But to get married in China your SO doesn't need a single certificate, unless something has changed since we went. You just need to go to the consulate in Beijing and get your marragiability certificate to get married. Like the others said, after you are married you will never need it again. You only need it to get married, not for your immigration application.
  14. Congratulations!!!! Enjoy your lives together!
  15. Congratulations!!! I hope you have a wonderful and happy life together!
  16. I have now idea about setting up a provisional file, but something i noticed in the I-864 papers. If your mom carried you on her taxes for that tax year the two of you CAN add your incomes together. From the I-864: "When determining your income, you may include the income generated by individulas related to you by birth, marriage, or adoption who are living in your residence, if they have lived in your residence for the previous 6 months, or who are listed as dependents on your most recent Federal income tax return whether or not they live in your residence."...Then it goes on to say they need to sign a contract between sponsor and household member, the I-864-A.
  17. Well, good news! We got the P4 today and our interview is April 25th. That is my grandmother's birthday and my birthday is only five days later on April 30th. Then is the May 1st holiday. So, we have two weeks of celebration after the interview (because we WILL pass). Confidence is the key!
  18. Hi, I'm a DCF'er living in Liaoning province. It's really easy and the best way, in my opinion. If you would like to talk to someone who has done it you can PM me and I will give you my number.
  19. I know a lady married to a non-U.S. citizen, but he is not chinese either. They have four children, all born in China. So, her kids have passports, ect. But, they get a work visa because she has a work visa. I don't know if this helps you guys, but maybe you can get a work visa for the children.
  20. Shouldn't be too hard. There all kinds of ways you can go. I live in Shenyang, in the north east of China. There are no flights to the U.S. So, usually I fly through Seoul. They have planes from Seoul to LA every day. I usually fly Shenyang to Seoul, Seoul to LA, La to Dallas. But, other people here who live in different states fly Shenyang to Beijing and then home. She may have to go some strange way but I think it will be ok.
