1. I have email contact with Angela of these Guangzhou apartments spoken of near the consulate. My SO has telephoned Mr. Xie and made arrangements. Angela was very kind to me in her email. She responded very quickly. Mr. Xie was very gracious to Lucy. Looking forward to my trip to Guangzhou. I anticipate good results this time. We are prepared to succeed and I will send update to CFL as soon as we know of a decision. Best to all, wish us good fortune please! Eric and Lucy (esun41)
2. Write the actual city of her birth as it appears on her birth certificate. Ensure that all documents that are written in a language other than English are translated to English by someone that knows both languages and signs the document certifying that they translated it, accompanied by the date, their name, and the fact that they are qualified to translate. Forget the pinyun thing. There is your SOs native language, if from China there is mandarin and cantonese. Each of her official documents should appear in one or the other, or in the language of the area she was born. 162831 The most important factor is the part to be filled in of the beneficiary's native alphabet. My SO's alphabet is Simplified Chinese Charactor and that is what she printed in that area. You're right to say "forget the pinyun" Eric
3. I just had my photo taken for the Chinese visa. JC Penney photo studio gave me 4 for $9.99. 2X2 and full frontal. They were ready in less than an hour.
4. I am sorry for this news. I know the exact feeling. One thing to keep in mind and this advice was given to me from Donahso, GUZ officials are doing their jobs. These people consider you as just another file, not an actual person. I realized this before but hearing this from him gave me the determination to re-group and gather the needed evidence to overcome. The denial notice should detail all the evidence needed. I hope it is merely an overcome and not for admin review! As soon as you get more details, please inform this group. There is a grip of advice and support here, as I have found out from our denial. Funny that you referenced Guangzhou as Canton. My fiancee still calls it Canton and she also refers to Beijing as Peking. It sounds like you have contacted King as I hear he is based from Seattle and practices in GUZ. To my knowledge, from what members say of him, he is very trusting and will do what is required. Get the info, rally the troops and go get it done... Best of luck... esun41
5. I live in Southern California... Does everyone have the same ethnic background here? No way... I see a person of Asian background and wonder of the heritage (Korea, Philippines, China etc...) I see Hispanic and wonder Mexico, El Salvador, etc... My heritage is swedish but I've never been to Sweden. (Too cold) This Nation was founded on the ideals of freedom and diversity... this is what makes it so great. In my eyes... we all are of one maker... GOD! (One Nation Under!)
6. I have followed this procedure and will have the overcome proceedings in a few weeks. I am not going to post any specifics due to suspicious activity on this site recently but the process was relatively painless. Esun41

New Inquiry Rules

I had to pay the fee twice because I kept getting bumped or put on hold or.... The service really is for the beneficiary, not the USC. Just like any other business... the customer pays the way ultimately...
8. I know how you feel Eric, but don't beat yourself up too bad over it. When Bing had her interview we decided to save our money and vacation time to have a honeymoon. I was going to pick her up at the airport in San Francisco and we were going to spend a week driving up the coast seeing the redwoods and stuff. The worst part was I knew that she was nervous lonely and afraid in GZ. She really needed me then and I wasn't there for her. I have wrestled this demon for a year and a half and have finally come to grips with it. This is why I am such a strong advocate of being there for the interview. After all what could be more important than being there for the woman you are going to spend the rest of your life with when she needs you? We made it though and so will you Eric. Hang in there and you will prevail. 159980 Carl, I was busy making wedding plans and getting things in order here at home. There was no doubt in my mind we would succeed the first go round. I guess I was too comfortable and when the denial hit... It was like I started to second guess my decision. I feel God had His plan for us and in a way... it will be great to see all my friends In Nanning that I may not see for many years to come. It also is a chance for us to say goodbye together to all her family and friends as well. It's all good... we are stronger in this adversity. Makes it all that much sweeter! Eric
9. Thanks for all the advice. I have the confirmation number and the interview date and time set. I have all the information required and will be there with Lucy to submit the evidence. Already purchased my plane ticket and will send off tomorrow for my Chinese Visa to travel. All that is needed now is God's will and time to past quickly so we can finally have closure. I can't help but wonder if I should have been there for the first interview and if that would have made any difference but have reserved myself to just move forward with Lucy and this circumstance. Thanks again to all! Eric
10. This is how I see my telephone call from a humorous perspective GUZ official: "Mr. Petitioner...Please choose Hoop #1, Hoop #2 or Hoop #3" Me: "I choose Hoop #3" (gargle gargle swish swish) GUZ official: "I'm sorry but that is the wrong choice of Hoops to jump through... You need to try your call later when you choose the right Hoop to jump through" Here is the skinny on the call: I talked to a very pleasant gentleman and he was willing to schedule the appointment for me but said I needed Lucy's Chinese I.D. card number and her Chinese passport number to proceed. He did assure me, however, that I will have no problem getting an interview date during my planned travel there. The open dates right now starts on October 17th. For the record; The email I received back from GUZ said this: "Be prepared to provide the primary applicant name in pin yin and case number." Unless my English skills have diminished, I see no where in this email about Chinese I.D. card or passport numbers. At least there is light at the end of the tunnel and I have made progress.
11. I emailed the GUZ through the website contact page with the same question. The reply was canned and said that this happens always and is taken into consideration. The petition I submitted would be automatically extended. I am guessing this is common protocol for I-129f petitions due to the long waiting period. I would email GUZ through the website so you can receive their reply and alert them to this fact. Good Luck
12. Well... I should have known all along... after waiting out the processes of California to NVC to GUZ, P-3 and P-4 to interview day to blue slip to................ aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Called the Visa Information line after getting a pin # for $6.50. Had to wait to call because of the holiday schedule and all. The first call was funny... went through the voice system and was told to press 1 for immigrant visa to USA or 2 for visitor. I would press 1 and the same message would come on again and again so I hung up to try in a few minutes. Called my SO in the meantime because she went back working for now until we get this whole thing finished and she said maybe busy because it is time for interviews and such. (This is why I love her so much... common sense) Did I listen??? Nope... got right back on that dang phone because I am a glutton for punishment. Got to that same point again and this time was put in the queue!!! After keying in my pin number and being told by an recorded female voice... (by the way... her English was very good...) that I was starting my 12 minutes only to be told 2 minutes later that no one was able to help me on the English line and to try my call LAY TAH-CLICK So.... I am staying up till 12 midnight on my only day off in 17 days... to be punished some more... At least the Angels are winning!!! Anyway, I am planning on getting my airplane ticket as soon as I secure an interview overcome date. I am hoping they will be able to schedule Lucy for November 3rd or 4th as this is ideal travel time in the industry... before the holiday crush starts! I am prayin' and ah prayin' If not... Christmas in China... New Years in Nanning... Ground Hogs in Guangzhou... I am prepared to wait some more... with plenty of mouthwash beside me!!! Everyone take care... and God Bless!
13. Welcome, You have made a wise choice in joining on here. Good advice and a good people. Best wishes and God bless Eric
14. If you have all the necessary documents proving divorce, custody, single-status, etc., then I wouldn't bother with the ex-spouse thing. Gene says the "kitchen sink" approach. And that's okay if that is where your comfort zone lies but in this case I say the "don't ask don't tell" approach. Why fix it if it ain't broken?........ 157979 Mine was broken... needs fixin'... haha Just be careful of the husband-wife calling (unless you are truly married) and save receipts and paper trail of everything. I mean everything!!! I am so glad I did because it is coming in handy now.
15. The ex-spouse location seems to be a hot button in my case. This is where I needed to get documents specifying that my ex does not reside with me and my SO needs to locate her ex for that photo-paper holding thing. Kitchen sink approach is what I am preparing for overcome of denial. Lets pray you don't go there... Be ready! Best to you... Eric
16. Hi, I should be in China around that time for different reasons but with the same outcome in mind... to bring her home... Congrats to you Eric
17. Truly happy for you Lee... come home safe please! God Bless, Eric
18. I have good news... Now that the verdict has sunk in, I talked to Lucy and saw her on Yahoo for the first time since her interview. She was very depressed and tearful as I was expecting. You might wonder why I was calling this good news? Because it is showing me the reason she wants to come to the USA. FOR US TO BE TOGETHER!!! The line has been drawn... Lucy and I are on the same page but a lot wiser. We are crossing that line upcoming and this time we will get that WAHOO!
19. David, The plan to dupe the petitioner is probably the conclusional method the VO suspected. It was also mentioned to me from a legal aid resource I have contacted here in California. I fully feel in my heart that this is not the case and will provide the sufficient evidence to overcome this decision. I have had limited contact with Lucy since this all came down yesterday. I told her to keep quiet and get back home where we can start communication again to plan our case. Thank you for bringing these concerns to the surface! Eric
20. Both the petitioner and beneficiary must prove by certified and documented evidence that they are free to marry. Documents must show that previous marriages ended either in legal divorce or death. If there are underage children involved there must be a clear order as to who retains custody. 157154 True, but I'm thinking of esun41's case (I believe Eric) and the overcome evidence that is asked of them: I'm sure they submitted divorce decrees and all that stuff - but then they want proof of her (and his?) ex's whereabouts. My question is - can the same thing (or any other difficulty) occur if the petitioner was married before (even though all the right paperwork was submitted)? It maddens me that it is made so difficult for people who love eachother but such is the way of things and we just have to deal with it. 157159 As far as my ex, she is 1000% in support of me and has already given me the documentation needed for this issue. We are very civil towards each other and have a good relationship. Divorce papers and marital agreement show us both having joint custody but also shows myself having physical custody of our minor son. All this was provided to my SO for evidence. As far as my SO's ex, he has no contact with her except for a few months ago when she found him living in Guangzhou and he signed a paper allowing the children to immigrate to the USA. I do not know the details of this but the possibility of 3rd party has crossed my mind but this is only suspect intuition and has no real evidence behind it. I am in total awe of all the support and well wishes we have received. The plan to overcome is being devised and all advisement from this site is being considered. Thank you to all for your un-wavering support!
21. Weird thing... Last night during the little sleep I was getting... I dreamed that I was carrying Lucy around like a little baby and taking care of her every need and want... I have all the things requested by the VO or have easy access to them. My only concern now is getting Lucy to carry her load. It appears that she 'Dropped the Ball' during the interview and didn't carry out the 'PLAN' as we had prepared. My emotions are in check as of now. I appreciate and am so thankful for the many friends and concerned CFL'ers I have here to pick me back up. I will fight the fight and bring her here!
22. Now that I am over the intial shock and have shed a few tears, I am ready to tell our story Talked to Lucy at 8 PM Pacific after she received a blue slip for denial. Many items were checked on the documents in which she had sent to me by Yahoo. I have the print outs in front of me and these are the reasons given. "Further consideration will be given after presentation of..." 1. Who wrote the emails which are supposedly from the petitioner? (I wrote those emails and had the English translated into Chinese alphabet using Alta Vista Babelfish so Lucy could read in both languages and help her understand my messages) 2nd page; Correspondence: 8. Records of telephone contact made by the petitioner. Statements: 9. A detailed statement, written by the petitioner, describing the evolution of your relationship, how met, when started dating and when-why became engaged. 11. A statement, written by the petitioner, listing every trip he has taken to China. Explain how time was spent together. List dates and events. Who arranged trip to China, purchased plane tickets for him etc... Travel: 13. A notarized copy of the petitioner's passport pages clearly showing Chinese visa and entry and exit stamps. 14. Evidence of the party that purchased your petitioner's plane tickets he used to visit. Page 3; Residency: 19. The consulate has insufficient evidence about the residency of the following people marked with an X. Petitioners ex-spouse and your ex-spouse were both X'd As you can see, it did not go well and she was scrutinized deeply. Either she was not carrying all the evidence I had sent her (and I sent her boxes of stuff) or she was in a panic after her VO could not speak Chinese. I am so hurt and angry right now... after all these success stories I have been reading on this site... Lucy was approached by a lady named Tammy after she left the consulate who offered her legal services but told Lucy $4000 USD to get her visa. This is for another post for another time. I just told Lucy to get back to Nanning and we will deal with this in an appeal after I compile all the necessary items the consulate is requesting. I guess my natural reaction to all this would be WHAT WENT WRONG? Any comments are welcome but would prefer if you PM'd me or send me an email. We really could use some help here. Eric (esun41)
23. David , is that right it took only 10 Months from the filing of the 129 to get your interveiw How did you do it SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO fast congrats Richard 155375 Actually, I was delayed three weeks by an RFE... so it should of been faster... B) But I filed through VSC; 9-10 months has been the average for the few K1s I know through VSC... 156717 Just a note... I filed through California and it has been almost 9 months to the day. My SO has her interview in 13 hours (9-27) and I received confirmation of accepting I-129 from California service center on 12-28-04. That 3 week delay you experienced David would have put you right on track with me in amount of time. I wonder why some cases breeze and some just are filled with chaos? Another topic I guess...
24. Alex, Count me in... I'll do what is right and just! Eric
