  1. Cheer up Dave. Las Vegas is a year and a half ahead of Atlanta. Last time I checked they were processing AOS applications from July 9, 2001.
  2. Great news Stats. Have a blessed reunion and life together.
  3. Yaaahooooo!!!! Way to go Carl! It's about time don't ya think?
  4. Congrats Patrick and Li. Sorry to hear about the snafu with the son but I trust it can be worked out soon. Best wishes to all of you.
  5. Congrats Frank!!!! I know it was well worth the wait.
  6. Congrats Kim and Jake on passing this major milestone in the process. I am sorry to hear the VO was such a hassle but, as you put it, Jake stood firm in his faith and made it through. Best wishes for a happy future together.
  7. Well, just checked the old Atlanta USCIS web site to check on their progress in the last 30 days in terms of processing AOS applications. As of the latest update, February 13, they were still processing applications received on July 9, 2001. Same as they were in December and January. What does this mean? Have they stopped processing AOS in Atlanta?
  8. inked or scanned? Scanned into a computer.
  9. A big congrats to you guys Don! Amazing how fast things proceed in Oregon. Atlanta still processing 2001 AOS cases. Anyway, now sit back and enjoy the time where all you have to do is wait rather than deal with more forms, hassles, double-talk and the like.
  10. Really great news Rob! It's about time. Glad the interview was brief and painless. Now get on home with your family.
  11. I agree completely Eric. At least in the Black Hole days, we got to listen to the double-talk and disinformation for free. And I will bet you a dollar to a doughnut this telephone service will be subcontracted to an outsource. When Owen and I met with the folks at GZ, lo a year ago this month, they acknowledged they outsourced the phone answering system. No reason to change that now.
  12. I am not sure if you have to marry first, but I think so if you are K1. We filed AOS, EAD, and AP all at the same time, after the marriage. I think AP has to be associated with an AOS petition. I may be wrong about this, however.
  13. Have a great trip PJ and a safe one. Enjoy!
  14. Took us exactly forty-two days from the Atlanta Center. Go Boston!
  15. Not exactly the same, but we had to drive 275 miles to Atlanta for EAD.
  16. Well, Li and I drove down to Birmingham yesterday and she was fingerprinted. No problems. The guy was a real card, joked around the whole time and didn't even ask for identification. Go figure. Not that I am complaining. We were in and out within 20 minutes or so.
  17. Sounds like you have the bases pretty well covered Carl. I agree with twyw 99 in that I am certain the packets at the consulate are pre-screened. The VO we had only asked a few questions but those questions were directly related to what was in our P3-P4. Never even looked at financial documents or other materials we had brought along.
  18. I sent Owen a PM a couple of weeks ago to check on his whereabouts but got no reply. I know he was pretty busy, working about sixty hours per week for awhile.
  19. Watch out with that "h" thing Robert. My experience in China is that is the sound, the one made deep in the back of the throat, that someone makes just before they spit.
  20. Thanks for sharing your experiences Frank. Looking forward to more installments. One word of caution: Dealing with Atlanta BCIS is no picnic. They make GZ look like a model of efficiency.
  21. Might work well in Boston Bob, but not Atlanta. They stone cold refused to issue temporary EAD. Said K1 was not eligible. We couldn't even get an interview or appointment to ask questions. Further, they will only accept applications by mail.
  22. Li is doing fine, 27 weeks along now. Belly really big. Pretty easy to feel the little lady kicking now. So far, all is well thank God. And thanks for asking Tine. Hope all is well with you, Ella, and the family.
  23. Interesting. Everything we have received says Department of Homeland Security. No reference to either BCIS or USCIS. Again, different offices, different procedures. Even different names.
  24. Not exactly. Fiance cannot work either until she gets the EAD. Only difference is fiance can get SSN without EAD, wife cannot. Either way, neither wife nor fiance can legally work without EAD.
