  1. When the cosulate receives the petition from the NVC it is my understanding that they then request a second namecheck and a security clearance. Once the name check and security clearance has been completed and returned to the consulate does the VO ever request another security clearance or any additional clearance's ?
  2. I think that all of us here that go through the visa nightmare of legally bringing our loved ones home would be more than happy to help fight fraud in any way possible if it could ease the burden that this process brings upon us. I for one am outraged by the amount of illegal alians that cross our borders every day with little or no consequence other than the fact thet every few years we offer them amnesty and give them resident status despite their illegal US entry.
  3. Still waiting for the P4 so I can not answer that question at this point. However it is my understanding that only a previous immigrant visa denial has any relevance on a current petition as there are literaly thousands of B2 denials.
  4. Physically go to there offices and camp out with pics. It will get you a lot more results than just an email. Trust me I know.
  5. I tried the B2 for my wife last Christmas and after she was denied I had some correspondence with the Shanghai consulate. I was told in no uncertain terms that if an immigrant visa is already in process there is not a chance in H--- of them issuing a B2. Lets face it once our loved one is here the temptation to file an AOS and keep them here would be very tempting.
  6. Hi Carl I know all about it, my wife went with her for moral support:D Good luck I am sure all will be fine she has everything ready and will breeze through this.
  7. CONGRATULATIONS My sincere wish's for a bright and happy future.

    GUZ

If as GUZ says they do not predetermine the results of our loved ones interview based on the fact that they do not have the time to review the applicants file prior to the visa interview, could they please explain the below State Department directive? U.S. Department of State Foreign Affairs Manual Volume 9 - Visas 9 FAM 42.62 PROCEDURAL NOTES 9 FAM 42.62 PN1 PREPARING FOR APPOINTMENT WITH APPLICANT (TL:VISA-584; 10-14-2003) a. When appearing at the appointed time for the formal visa appointment, an applicant is entitled to receive prompt attention. The post should pull and review the following prior to the appointment, preferably the preceding day: (1) Form DS-230, Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration; and (2) Any documents that may have been filed in the A-Z file. b. The consular officer shall send unclassified material to the document checker for review. The consular officer shall review classified material.
  9. An uncommon name reduces the possibility of a name hit in both the name check and security clearance.
  10. CONGRATULATIONS Carl I heard the good news from my wife last night.
  11. I think they have a genuine interest in trying to respond to some of our questions. But I also think that if they have come under any kind of scrutiny because of complaints from our membership this would certainly be one way of saying (see boss we are trying to help them) So KEEP complaining guys I think we got someones attention.
  12. hang in there. just the first round. Hit them with the overcome and bring her home Good Luck
  13. Yes I am aware of the consent form that is needed but as was stated to me rather than give me the generic answer they would prefer to wait until after their meeting, where they are hoping to get some diffinitive method of being able to track the progress and expedite requests.
  14. I called my Senators office today and was transferred to an assistant who takes care of visa issues. He was very helpful and here is what he told me. Regarding the name check delays (and our State evidently has many of them) they are mainly associated with visa requests from China, Mexico and Pakistan. Currently there is no viable pipeline for there office to obtain information from the F.B.I. other than name check pending (sound famillier) Because of the amount of requests that they have for assistance with name check delays, they had requested a meeting with the F.B.I. That was supposed to have happened the beginning of October, however that meeting has been pushed back by the F.B.I. until the end of the month. They requested this meeting to try and establish some way to help there constituants who are currently caught up in these delays, some for as long as 3 years. Anyway the wind up to all this is that the Senators assistant sounded as frustrated as we sometimes get and seemed to have a genuine desire to help. I will be in contact with him again after his meeting with our friends at the F.B.I.
