  1. Congratulations! Tom and Ling
  2. Hi dnoblett, No...K3 does not suck and I am a K3 petitioner. It cost me more money but my wife and boys were here in the US 5 months sooner than the CR1. If one checks the timelines for K3 and CR1, the CR1 is taking about a year while the K3 is taking a shorter time. Now,,if electronic processing cuts the time down than it would be better to do the CR1 verses the K3. But this is everyone's own opinion and what they choose for themselves. But the K3 does not suck ( in my opinion) and we got EAD in one month and SS# two weeks later. Tom and Ling
  3. Hi twoinchina, I would assume that your wife is getting a Russian police clearance too. It will be interesting to find out what a non-resident can expect as far as police clearances in China. keep us informed. Tom and Ling
  4. Same Here, both ACH and ACS very useful........... I spent 10 days in Guangzhou an all my expenses plus airline tickets was probably $5000.00 USD....so I don't feel sorry for this guy.. Tom and Ling
  5. Hi Corey, I would go back only to the 9th grade because most middle schools in NC are for socializing........ As far as Math goes they will test him and they will check his English too. It is good he speaks English...He is far ahead of my boys... . I don't know whether they will give him credit for subjects taken in China (Probably not). Tom and Ling
  6. One of the more important things needed is proof of certain vaccinations that are required by all students. You can ask the school about what vaccinations are required. Hi Corey&Xu, Like samsong said...get what the High School requires for immunizations. Ling and I got all the immunizations in GUZ and it was enough to satisfy the High School. The boys brought their immunization records from China and make sure that Xu gets those records. Ling translated the records and the doctor in Chapel Hill was satisfied with the translation. And what the boys had in GUZ was mostly booster shots. One of the biggest problems the boys had was English. They don't speak english and so the middle school put them in the eight grade, and they would have gone on to High School next year ,,based on age. I was totally against this but the school was insistant, however, two weeks later the middle school agreed with me and placed them back one year so that they could get more English behind them before going off to High School. You won't have that problem since your boy is already in High School, but how well does your boy speak Engish?? You might want High School records from China and have them translated. There are translators here in North carolina at most schools but it might be easier to have it done there,,however it is free in North Carolina,,atleast it was for us. Phillips Middle school had a Chinese translator for our parent/teacher conference. Tom and Ling
  7. Hi Missingyou and All, Received today (Monday 6-8-09) the appointment letters for Ling and the Boys for Biometrics. The appointments are for June 25, 2009. These people must be working on weekends....... It is interesting that the Biometrics will be in the Raleigh office, and not in the Charlotte office. Thank goodness they opened an USCIS in Raleigh. What is funny is that the building for Biometrics is in Durham. So moving right along.......... Missingyou, Have you received anything yet??? Tom and Ling
  8. Welcome Gamal to CFL, You will need three years of taxes, Letter from your employer, and about five of the most resent pay stubs. for both you and your co-sponsor. See I-864 instructions: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-864.pdf others will give you more advise............ Tom and Ling
  9. Hi Missingyou and All, Received all I-797C's for Ling and the boys on 6-6-09......... By filling out the G28's ...I got a copy of each I-767C as well as each family member got theirs,,if I had know this ........ As it is...we will see how long the filing's will take to get approved and the GC's received....... also if there will be an interview or not........... B) I am hoping that there will be no RFE's on the TB skin test, but who knows and I will see.... B) Tom and Ling
  10. You can also use the Instructions for the I-134 since they address the same employer question. I had mine notarized in GUZ at ACS with an appointment and they never asked Ling for the I-134,,but I did three I-134's.... Tom and Ling NOTE: Nothing needs to be notarized. Signing the I-134 is Swearing that the I-134 and attached evidence is true and correct under penalty of perjury. Hi dnoblett, So Noted, however, having it notarized in GUZ gives one an excuse to go to ACS and then they know you are there , as well as, I was able to talk with a VO that put it in my file that I was there to support my wife and since it was notarized ( I am sure that it was scanned),, and they never asked for the I-134 at Lings interview. ...just my opinion... Tom and Ling

  12. Hi dnoblett, I had a nice Chinese waiter when I waited..I paid the usual price for the first order, but after that every other cup was half price...really nice Guy........ and Mark like dnoblett says have her bring your passport to the interview.. Tom and Ling
  13. Hi Mark, I didn't read that she is insisting on you going to ACH.... So, it that case....do as she says....it will make her happy and how else is Guz going to know that you are in town to support her.... And they are getting paid to do ACH...so go to ACH and ask a few questions...... Tom and Ling
  14. Hi Mark, dnoblett and Sebastian are giving you good advice...... Ling's interview was on a Thursday also. I got everything done by flying in on a Saturday. North Carolina is two days to China so I left on Friday due to stormy weather and arrival on Saturday. You don't do everything her way or only your way...it is all a compromise....... But what you want to tell her is that you have to Go to ACH on Monday at about 1:00pm and if you want to have anything notarized than make an appointment for ACS for days that you will be free. ACH is important to ask a few questions but to also let them know that you are in town to support her....... Tom and Ling
  15. Congrats! And Yes 10 days before is a good idea, gives you time to: Pay visa fee at CTIC bank Do medical Perhaps ACH to ask a few questions dnoblett is absolutely correct and 10 days is a good set aside. also don't forget to use ACS for some notarization's. I found that Documents that I had notarized ,,were not asked for like the I-134 and an updated Letter of Evolution of Reationship...just a reminder. And Congratulations on the next step.... Tom and Ling
  16. Hi Missingyou, Your check should be getting cashed soon too..... Now,,just hope for no RFE's... Tom and Ling
  17. Hi dnoblett, I know Charlotte is the field office since I have dealt with them before for my 2nd wife and her children....... What I was wondering about Charlotte is that they specifically say on their website that they handle I-485 and they list it as 4 months for completion. So,,from what you are saying is that "Field Offices do not handle I-485"s...is that correct?? What you are saying is that it doesn't go to Charlotte for processing..is that correct?? Any interview or finger printing, as you say, would have to be done in Charlotte although as I hear,,They also have a sub-station in Raleigh. Tom and Ling They handle the I-485 IF an interview is required, if not then the service center (California) will handle it. No way to estimate processing time if it gets sent to CSC. Hi dnoblett, Fair enough...... Tom and Ling

  19. Hi Everyone and Missingyou Well, I checked the old checking account this morning and I was happy that the checks were Cashed............. Happy.....well maybe half happy... This is a relief (I hope) since applications that have had trouble were sent back without cashing the check...What do you Guys think?? The only thing I can think of ..would be an RFE for TB skin test,,since I am not sure that the Civil Surgeon was completely correct about section 2............ I am guessing that since the checks were cashed that all the applications were accepted....would this be correct??? For Ling it was only the AOS (I-485). For the boys it was the I-485 and I-130's. So what happens next?? I know about the bionumeric's and this would be set for Ling in Charlotte, NC. The boys are 13 years old and I am assuming that they won't be finger printed, however, their birthday is July 24th and they will be 14 years old ..so they are getting close to the 14 to 79 range. What I am curious about ....will Charlotte, NC handle the AOS applications or are the applications sent some where else??? ****Missingyou,,,,My checks were cashed,,,so yours should be soon too.......... Tom and Ling
  20. Hi Jimi, You and your wife deserve the pink!!!!!!! Congratulations Tom and Ling
