  1. dr. arnold only filled out the vaccination section and the rfe requests that the 693 be completely filled out. uscis must have lost the exam papers from guz.
  2. your right randy. if i cant clear this up quickly i'll be forced to get another exam. this sucks!
  3. as stated in my post, i did have dr. arnold from austin texas to fill out the 693. he filled out the vaccination portion from our yellow book. the issue at hand is that the uscis adjucator is asking for a 693 completely filled out which would require a new exam and also is in contradiction to the 693 directions.
  4. hello to all. i just received an rfe stating that the i-693 was not completed. my so arrived on a k1 and had her medical in china july 2008. we had dr. arnold to fill out pages 1,3 and 5 of the i-693 transferring the vaccination info as per the 693 instructions and put in the sealed envelope. my question is: do i have any options other than to have a new medical exam so that the 693 can be completely filled out? i phoned the uscis and was told that i could write a letter explaining the problem and fax it to them. has anyone else tried this and what was the result? i'm just trying to see if i can solve this without a new exam. i have to act quickly as they only gave me 30 days to answer the rfe. any help is appreciated.
  5. i dont see this causing any problems with the k1 visa provided she doesnt overstay her visa. also, you dont need to hide anything. good luck!
  6. lets answer the questions instead of bashing the op. medical exam is 600-800 rmb depending on the hospital you choose. visa app. fee is 131 USD. visa pick-up fee is 20 rmb.
  7. sorry for the bad news, however i have confidence that you will prevail. good luck and wish you a speedy green card. perhaps you could share the details with us?
  8. its probably too late , but if you order the forms directly from uscis they will already have the holes punched in them. if you dont want to punch the holes the uscis can do this when they receive your app. good luck!
  9. the correct size is 2 inches x 2 inches, or 50 mm x 50 mm, or 5 cm x 5 cm.
  10. April 2nd will be a Thursday. He has full days of classes on Wednesday and Thursday. I don't know. Apparently law school is not that easy to catch up with if you miss so many classes in a row. Plus he pays like 100 bucks per class. I don't know. I think his school is more important. However, i didn't apply for AP. I am really in a dilemma! We are writing a letter to change the time to either May-Aug or Dec-Jan now. Hopefully it will work during the first period while we are back in WA for summer vacation. The AOS interview is not something I would recommend rescheduling they have been known to cancel the application if you don't show up, read the letter carefully. I don't think they consider inconvenience as a reason to reschedule. If you had put in a change of address they would have done it locally, but telling them you can't make it because you are living across the country and you have a more important appointment doesn't seem like a good idea. i agree with the others on this one.you should go to the interview. my son is in law school so i feel your pain, but 1 day missed wont hurt much. good luck whatever route you decide.
  11. From what I read on 001 Forum, GIV-24 is no longer needed for K1, K3, IR-1, CR-1. Some on 001 has asked GZ why they didn't get GIV-24 in the P4 package, GZ's reply is if it is not in your package then it is not required. My Fianc¨¦e received our K1 P4 today, but has not opened it yet. (She is in a different city now from where P4 was send). I will have her check if GIV-24 is in our package this coming weekend. george lee's CR-1 P4 contains GIV-24. So, to be safe I would download and print out couple copies of GIV-24 if you do not have it in your P4. If you do have it in P4, then fill it out and bring it to the interview. we're doing a k-1 and my fiancee's P4 (received about 3 weeks ago) has a GIV-24. my stepdaughter just received the p4 2 days ago. it had the same appointment letter and another letter attached stating the revised forms reqirements. on the attached letter the giv-24 is not mentioned as needed and it also states to only turn in the medical forms and photos at the medical and bring the rest of the forms to the interview. apparently, guz is still sendind out the old appt. letters (02/08) even though on their website they have the new one (01/09) available. some govt. agencies are well known to continue sendingout old forms to get rid of them. good luck to all and think pink!
  12. charles is correct. i started a thread about this a couplke of weeks ago. it appears that in mid feb. guz revised the form requirements.
  13. if they dont worry about the k3 then they will have to interview in guz with a cr1.
  14. i agree with crezba, i think the ir-1,cr-1/dcf is your best option.
  15. i dont think this will be a problem since your a citizen now.
  16. interview can be anywhere from 2-7 weeks in the future. i would guess that your interview would be in april, however since you are expedited perhaps late march. good luck.
  17. i would stick with may because you should be engaged before you send off for the fiancee visa petition. it doesnt make sense to become engaged after you send in the petition for your fiancee.
  18. in most cases it is only 2-3 business days, however sometimes it can be delayed for up to 2 weeks. good luck!
  19. this form was apparently removed from the guz forms list within the last 7 days. the instructions are also updated to reflect the fact that the p4 papers are now turned into the consuate instead of the medical facility. the new instructions also dont mention the giv 24 as a reguired form to turn in at the interview.
  20. this is an excellant question that is still being debated by cfl members. according to the i-485 instructions, if you had the medical exam within the past 12 months then your ok. it doesn't mention anything about a new tb test being done. however, i have seen many posts at vj that were rfe'd for a new medical exam, so the bottom line is that it depends on the uscis person that adjudicates your i-485. It's a new requirement for AOS: Changes to the Tuberculosis and Vaccination Requirements Required for Adjustment of Status. i wonder if the guz medical facilities are doing the medical exam according to the new tb test standards? we had our medical done in guz on july 25th 2008.
  21. i was browsing the guz website looking at the p3 and p4 forms and noticed that the dreaded giv-24 is no longer listed in the forms section, nor is it listed as required to be turned it at the interview. does anyone have any info about this? here is the link. http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/fo...and_packets.htm

  23. She shouldn't need a single certificate as it isn't legal for her to marry at her age, but if she can get one it wouldn't hurt. We only provided notary documents for our son, his birth certificate listed his mother. I can not stress the importance of relationship information for her mom and you, it seems to have come up more than once at a follow to join case. thanks lee. we will make sure and bring lots of photos and insure that our daughter can answer relationship type questions similar to her mothers interview.
