  1. First of all: Welcome back, Welcome back, Welcome back (To the tune of "Welcome back Carter"). And more importantly: Congratulations Ninging on getting your 10 year Green Card, and becoming a legal permanent resident.
  2. Thank you all. For those who are still in the process, hope that you receive yours as quick, if not faster.
  3. Yes we went through the Laguna Niguel (spelling ?). That service center has been fairly quick.
  4. We received both with in the last two weeks. How great it is!
  5. scooby94 is right: You must have Vista ultimate to see and use Chinese. I have this installed on my system and have had no problems. Works great!! Always do your home work and research before buying software. But Vista ultimate needs a powerful system to run the way it should. Like this one. I can build ya one for a small fee $$$$$$$$ I use Ultimate with an older system. Athalon XP 2200 and it works just find. I did get a decent graphics card the lower level 7600 Nvidia card. I run chinese just fine on this system. I have always built my own systems. You can not get a system like this any where in any store. Here are the spec's. If your understand computers you will understand these spec's CASE NZXT|LEXA BLACKLINE BK RT MB ABIT IP35 Pro 775 bios 14 CPU INTEL|C2Q Q6600 2.40G 775 LIQD SWIFTECH|H20-220-APEX-GT RT VGA EVGA 512-P3-N841-A3 8800GTS 512 2=seagate beracuda HD 250G|ST 7K 16M SATA2 Running Raid-0 PSU ABS|BZ700 700W RTL MEM 2Gx4|GSK F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ R CASE MOD|COLD CATHODE KIT CLK15BL 5LED LAZER LIGHT |LOGISYS MDLED5RGB CASE LIGHT LOGISYS|CLK12UV2 OEM Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit Look at line number 4) That is a water cooler. And look at line number 9) mem 8GBs And of course mother board ABIT IP35 and to top it off Itel due 2 quad core. Any questions???? I'll pit my Sun M9000 against your Wintel System 64 CPUs - quad core , dual threaded (Can run up to 512 concurrent threads) 2 TB of memory 288 I/O slots etc Of course it a heck of a lot larger then a desk top system, it 2 full sized stand-alone cabinets. Not exacts something you can put under your desk...
  6. Authentication: You need to go to your local notary (within the county you live in), and have your document notarized. $10 - $15. Then you will need to go to your county office and pay them to certify that the notary is indeed a registered notary within your county of residence. $26.00. You will then need to have the Sectary of State put there seal on the document once they verify everything is kosher. $26.00. Then all you need to do is run on over to your local consulate and pay them 40.00 to authenticate the document -- they will put their seal of approval on it.
  7. We still use broadvoice (www.broadvoice.com). $22.00 + taxes / month, free land line call, 2 cents per min on cell phones. Our Monthly phone charges are never more then $25.00 per month... Too bad my cell phone plan isn't this inexpensive...
  8. Congrats !!! Looks like the process was about 3 months start to finish. Pretty quick too !
  9. Sorry to hear that you hit a bump in the road. We didn't submit G-325A forms either. I didn't see that requirement within the I-751 instructions or the Step-by-Step instructions posted at Visa Journey. The above links looks like it is related to the AOS process... Wishing you and Ninging the best, and a speedy review of your re-submission.
  10. When I was introduced to my honey, she used the English name Joanna. Since that was the name we were first introduced under, we have kept using it. Obviously she also has a Chinese name, which I also like very much. So, we use Joanna as more of a nick-name -- not formal.
  11. but right now, i just moved, do i need to inform them? i'm not filing the document for 20 more months as we just got the GC 2 weeks ago. thanks guys. for some reason i had always thought you could do it 90 days prior to the marriage anniv. I believe it is a requirement to let the government know when a resident alien moves. Why would they have a form for such a purpose if not? Then again I am not 100% sure on this. It could be optional. Here is the form: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/ar-11.pdf You can also submit online according uscis website, and it doesn't cost anything. The rule is AR-11 must be filed within 10 days of any move of a resident alien, AND form I-865 must be filed also within 30 days of the immigrant sponsor's move, this is required by LAW. This all ends only after Resident alien naturalizes and becomes a US Citizen. http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD I-865 Sponsor's Notice of Change of Address Good to know, as we are planning on moving after Joanna gets her 10-year green card.
  12. I just read the instructions, in particular: AR-11, Alien's Change of Address Card This card is to be used by all aliens to report a change of address within ten days of such change. The collection of this information is required by Section 265 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1305). The data issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services for statistical and record purposes and may be furnished to Federal, State, local and foreign law enforcement officials. Failure to report a change of address is punishable by fine or imprisonment and/or removal. So, looks like its a requirement -- and within 10 days of the move.

  14. As Tony says, 90 days prior to the GC expiration date. As for notice of moving, yes. You would need to inform them of a move, so they can send you the proper information to the correct address.
  15. You need evidence of a continuing relationship -- i.e. shared bank account, birth certificates of children born into the relationship, shared loans, shared memberships, tax returns, etc. Here is a link for you to review: I-751: Step-by-Step
  16. We updated Joanna's passport at the Chinese Consulate in Los Angeles. Marriage Certificate and Green Card copies were provide. The cost was $10.00. The consulate just puts an amendment to the passport stating that she is also known as New Name. We did it so her green card matches her green card.
  17. Cool. So, I will have a Christmas / New years gift from USCIS We'll give you a ring tomorrow and catch up
  18. Not only can you file before two years is up, you must file before two years is up. Otherwise she will be out of status. Jim you can file the I-751 to remove conditions anytime within 90 days of the green card expiration. The process took us 7 months so I recomend you file as soon as you can. Thanks Carl, After I posted this I actually read the link. Too bad I will have to file before I can get Jen on to the title for our house. Oh well so much for my ace in the hole. Since Jen wants to head back to China for a visit, she won't be happy if it draws out to 7 months, guess we'll have to see. It's ok Jim. She can travel with the I-797 NOA 1. It states right on it that the green card is extended for one year. That is good to know, as we are also thinking of another trip possibly in April. Currently California is processing I-751 requests within 6 months. April is cutting it close. By the way, how soon did you recieve the I-797 NOA 1 ?
  19. We just submitted the I-751 for Joanna -- Priority Mail + Tracking Number + Registered Mail. I should be getting a signature note stating they received the package by next week. Hopefully I will get some kind of case # that I can track the progress....
  20. We have the Aroma 10 cup -- bought from costco as well ($29.95). Coming up on three years of ownership. I guess mileage may vary.
  21. I thought this link may be of some help to those of use looking at removal of Conditions: I-751: Step-by-Step
  22. Previous message was intended for JimandSara. As for the show COPS. Both wife and I enjoy it. We like to see the bad guys get taken down -- and yes we know the clips are for rates, as are most other shows. Would it be stupid to put something on TV that did not get rating?
