  1. Congratulations, great news coming out of GUZ for the July people
  2. Absolutely, don't let the VO come over until pink is in hand Congratulations
  3. The challange here is that such a letter can be long, yet the VO probably doesn't want to spend x number of minutes reading page after page, also it would be easier to read if it was typed, and a timeline at the end sums up the highlights, or important key dates. IMHO
  4. Here is their contact information, best to have a Chinese speaking person contact them. http://i350.photobucket.com/albums/q408/ltbadd/Yangs.jpg
  5. Congratulations, my wife had the same VO, very easy interview for her also.
  6. See the women standing on the right side, you can watch them try to corral everyone that comes down from the fifth, trying to sell them their services, it's almost funny at times.
  7. Are you doing ACS? Make the appointment* before leaving the states, get your evolution of relationship letter notorized, they copied mine and the VO used it to ask wife some questions. *thru the US Consulate (GUZ) website
  8. I flew into Beijing on July 4th, the tech's that came on board had mask's and goggles, but the way they were dressed made me think they were just trained airline employees. Very quick to take temps, no problems.
  9. Yes I agree, and with a pair of binoculars it is even better. I remember seeing the shuttle chasing ISS just before docking, that was cool. There are also many satellites that can followed, or tracked if you have the desire to do so.
  10. Great news, Congratulations
  11. Our interview was on 7/9, wife arrived on 6/30 to have plenty of time to get the medical done, and adjust to the area and the heat. The first couple of nights she stayed with a relative, but was not satisfied. At the medical examination she met Mr. Yang in person, and after speaking with him, she decided to rent one of his apartments. The consolate was just around the corner, (really) and this was a great convience along with Mr Yang's more than 10 years experience in helping couples prepare for their most important day. Taxi's can be a little harder to get in Guangzhou so we have been told. So being able to walk out of our building and within one minute be at the consulate was very convienent for me to attend ACH & ACS, and her to "line up" the morning of the interview. We (mostly my wife) had done a good job to prepare our case with a lot of edvidence, she is not only a member of CFL but also 001, and as such she is well versed in all that goes into putting together a good case. Along with this, Mr. Yang and his wife's advice and encouragement helped her to feel more confident. Staying at the Yang's, we got to meet many other couples getting ready for their interview, talk with them and share our experiences in preparing for the big day. On a final note, on the way to the Guangzhou airport, son discovered he had lost a memory card for his handheld computer game, after a phone call to Mr. Yang, he found it and said he would mail it to us in Harbin. This was our experience, and we wanted to write about it so others can have more information to make their own choice in preparing for the interview. http://i350.photobucket.com/albums/q408/ltbadd/Guangzhou/IMG_0758.jpg Wife and Mrs & Mr Yang and son
  12. A few photo's from GUZ, those that have been there should recognize the area. http://i350.photobucket.com/albums/q408/ltbadd/Guangzhou/IMG_0741.jpg Across the street from ground zero http://i350.photobucket.com/albums/q408/ltbadd/Guangzhou/IMG_0745.jpg The square across the street from the consolate http://i350.photobucket.com/albums/q408/ltbadd/Guangzhou/IMG_0743.jpg More of the square
  13. Thanks, we feel a great relief, we just got our actual visa's so we will fly to Harbin this evening, then we will be able to post some photo's and tell more about our experience.
  14. Thanks, we will have photo's and more details, after we get the visa in hand and fly to Harbin. The connection here is slow...almost 56k like at times. But after getting pink we have no complaints
  15. I waited until about 9:50 in the infamous coffee shop, and we were done, very easy interview for her, and son was told to go and sit down during the interview. No more than six easy questions. VO commented on her good english. Before she left the window she wanted to ask one question, this seemed to surprise him, it was "is there any further procesing on my case?" No, just wait for a couple of days. Thanks to many people here, we prepared so many evediences that wasn't asked for, but there is no way to know what the VO will require. We were very well prepared, and wouldn't have done it any differently. Details to follow later...
  16. Yes, it's now the rainy season. In any event, welcome to China and good luck to you guys. Thanks, I have finished ACH & ACS, it's up to her now Will have more later
  17. Thanks everyone, I arrived very early Monday morning (China time) the plane from Beijing to GUZ was delayed for about 4 hours. From the airport gate we had to take a bus to the plane, a delay of 30 minutes. Got on the plane and more delays, the pilot come on and said they don't know when we'll take off...later said that planes from 3pm had not yet taken off, we were supposed to leave at 6pm. So they served dinner...then came on and said again don't know when we'll take off and if anyone wanted to canel this flight, get your carryon and see the flight attendent then five minutes later the pilot says we will taxi to the runway and takeoff so we taxi and then wait another half hour. So after 34 hours from leaving home I arrived in GUZ very tired but excited to see wife and son. edit...the delay was because of rain
  18. Wife and son are already there waiting for me, there's a long day of flying ahead, we will report later from ground zero.
  19. Thank you, I will leave Saturday morning, wife and son are already in GUZ and have finished their medical
  20. I wonder what I am in for
  21. Our interview is two days before your interview. If I see you around, I let you know how it went. Ours is on the 9th, depending on how long we have to wait around for the pink maybe we'll bump into you, or others, there.
