Chinese New Year

Recommended Posts

Im just curious if anyone will be traveling to China for the Chinese New Year. My wife tells me this is the biggest and most important holiday for the Chinese. I plan on going because I have spent every Chinese New Year with her, this will be our third. But mainly because our first anniversary is soon after on the 12th. So hopefully I will be able to spend a few wonderful moments alone with my baby inbetween all the celebrations with the sister and parents and friends. :greenblob:

im very excited about it though. Only 33 days until I leave.

:greenblob:  :redblob:

My Lao Po said the same thing. These trips are getting expensive now. I asked her what was more important for her. Being at the Interview with her or being with the family at New Years. She replied that New Years was more important. She explained the importance the newest family member being there. I believed her already, but this is the 1st I heard anyone on the board say the same thing about it. Cool.

I speant New Years with my wife in Hangzhou last year. There is nothing like it in the US. If you think you've "seen it all" and haven't been to China for New Years, You haven't "seen it all" yet.

That will be wonderful! I was there for New Year's last year. It is an experience not to be missed, especially with your loved one. This year, we were disappointed the interview was not before Christmas, and then not after New Years. But we'll definitely take the interview now!!!!

9 days until I leave for Guangzhou.

I'm going there Jan. 28. Unfortunately because of work I can only stay nine days and I have to return before the holiday is in full swing. My SO said she kind of wants to avoid the craziness of traveling during it anyway. We are both meeting up in Shanghai.

My next trip there, in the summer, will be longer and I'll be able to travel to her hometown of Chengdu.

I used expedia.com and got what I think is a pretty good package deal...$1,150.00 complete for R/T flight, nine days hotel, taxes, etc. in the center of Shanghai.

Everyone have a safe and fun trip!

I was planning on sending the wife home for the holidays, and she said to expensive, and I looked at the tickets, and they were the same price if she went now or later, and then she explained to me, the red envelopes, all of the family, so is she stays here, well you can figure, if she is here, she does not have to give. For me, not a big thing, to her, it is
