  1. Good luck! You will prevail. They don't care a whole lot about their holiday schedule, or airline arrangements. I was glad I had scheduled flights out the following SATURDAY (she interviewed on a Friday). There was Martin Luther King day, and she got her visa at 4 PM on a Tuesday. I allowed the extra days just in case we had to go through the hell you are going through. You will prevail! Mark
  2. Great idea! Now that Leigh is over here, I will write to them. The most frustrating part for me was being a US citizen and not being able to go in with my fiance. Other than that, we didn't have any problems once we finally got the interview! Mark
  3. Hey Congrats! Where do you live? My wife is from Nanning as well. We live in Seattle. Mark
  4. Congrats! Another one for the good guys!
  5. Jim, We decided the little girl needed to go back to Nanning earlier than by Tuesday. So we took the train back and Leigh flew to Guangzhou to pick up the visa. She called me the instant she got it. How is the jet lag going? The daughter has her nights and days mixed up so far. Leigh is not much better. On top of it all, I had to work! Hope all is well with you!
  6. Wonderful!!! From bad comes the good. Mark and Leigh
  7. Congratulations!!! CFL has been so supportive. Now we go through the culture shocks with our loved ones. So far, so good! Mark
  8. We made it home, yesterday at 7:30 AM, Seattle time. Few questions in the entry line, but I was glad I went in the line with Leigh. She had some hesitations and the officer was not very patient. Just, when will you marry?, where will you live?. Asked the daughter if she spoke English (no), and where she will go to school. Then said "welcome to the US." And we were on our way. Customs was easy. They didn't even look at our bags and waved us through. Home by 9:30! Any ideas on how to ease the culture shock for them? Mark
  9. Jim, Great to see you in Guangzhou! We just arrived back in the states yesterday. Wasn't the wait until Tuesday for the visas the worst thing? oh well, we waited so long...a few days more. We made it back safely. The culture shock for Leigh and Michelle has begun. LOL Mark
  10. Leigh was very successful and got the white card! However, this being Friday and Monday being MLK day, we can't get the visa until Tuesday at 4:00. Then back home!!! Thanks for all your support!!!! Mark
  11. WONDERFUL!!! I'll be in Guangzhou next week! Mark
  12. We've all made our "mark" on the world. Interesting, though, because I don't know too many other "marks" except on here! One more Mark...
  13. Wonderful!!! Congratulations!!! Great news for the two of you!!! Mark
  14. All of us are behind you...you must feel like you are in the Twilight Zone. Mark
