  1. Congratulations Phil & Ningning! I know you two are really happy now!
  2. Congrats from us too Gene! I told Shaoyun the good news this morning, and she's very happy for you, and your family!
  3. This is where it gets confusing! Gene, and I are both K-3. We had to file a I-765 (EAD) along with our I-485 (AOS). I was told that until we received our EAD approval that my wife could not get a Social Security number! I know that on one of the forms you fill out before the Guangzhou interview it asked then if you wanted a Social Security number. If you did not check it then, you have hell to pay later!
  4. I too just got off the phone with USCIS customer service as we just received our NOA's on the I-485, and I-765. We are also doing the K-3! It was a very nice lady on the phone who asked to speak with my wife to verify that she knew I was making this appointment! She then asked for the ASC Codes on both letters, and the applicants "A" number. After she verified my wife's birthdate, she proceeded to schedule the appointment. The earliest was in the last week of May, and she said whatever was convenient for us. We made it on the following Friday which is the 3rd of June. The appointments were spread out in hour intervals. This will be in Memphis Tn. about 177 miles from our home. Items she said bring: (1) Photo ID.... Passport (2) Letter we received, (I-797C NOA) (3) Any other items pertaining to this case which I could leave in the car! "You never know what they may ask for so be prepared"!
  5. Let the "Good Times" roll! I knew it all along Lowell! Shaoyun, and I just read your post, and are very happy for the two of you! Yes the CFL has done another great job of helping others bring their loved ones together! This is truely what this forum is all about! Get your visa, and have a safe trip home! Your Candle Friends, Ken & Shaoyun
  6. Take a deep breath, and relax! Just came from the interview last week! They seem to only be interested in pictures, and the last two years of your tax returns! They did not even want to see my I-134, letter from employer, or letter from the bank! Your already married so they just want to know if you can support your spouse now! If your W-2's or tax returns you have shows you above the poverty level, you should be safe! But get everything faxed to you that you can just to be on the safe side!
  7. Stay RELAXED! Trigg has now got you under his powers!!! Best of luck to you, and Amy!
  8. Congrats Bruce & Ying! It was really a great pleasure meeting you guys here in Guangzhou! You two are really a great couple! Shaoyun, and I wish you two great happiness in your future! Maybe our paths will cross again some day! Take care, Ken & Shaoyun
  9. I'm not sure if getting there at 6am will get you in for a interview before lunch! Seems like they have different rules every day! I would like to thank everyone on the Candle for some great information that helped Shaoyun, and I through the process! We knew what to expect once we got here, and had our I's dotted, and T's crossed! We are now helping some friends who got a blue slip with request for additional evidence of their relationship! His handle on the Candle is Max! Today we thought we would go ahead and make a 5 minute video just in case they get asked for it! I think their problem was his financee' got the black woman who others have had problems! Anyway we are coming home tonight! It will be really great to breath some clean air again! Thanks again everyone for your help!
  10. We Got It!!! Arrived at about 7:00am to find about 50 people in line ahead of us! Was told that some people arrived as early as 4:00am! About 7:30 my wife was able to go inside. About 9:00am people started coming out! Some had the white slip in hand, while others kept theirs hid! At 10:00am my wife came out with a paper saying come back at 1:00PM. We arrived back at 12:00 to find around 75 people waiting in front of us! At 1:25 my wife got to go inside to come back out at 2:10 with the good news! Several people tried to get information from her but she did as I had suggested & said nothing! Not even a smile till we were far enough away! Interview went as follows: My wife was called to window #11 where a white american about 30 years old was! vo: Who is helping you to get your visa? wife: My husband sir! She then handed him my passport & said he is outside waiting on me! vo: Do you have photos of the two of you? wife: Yes! Then she handed him the photos! vo: You have a very handsome husband! wife: Smiled, and said thank you sir! vo: What does your husband do for a living? wife: He works for a school bus company in Arkansas! vo: Do you have your husband's tax return? 1st time in English, then asked in Chinese! wife: Handed him tax returns for 2004, 2003, & 2002. vo: Looked at W-2, and return for 2004, & 2003 only. vo: Do you have any children? wife: No sir I don't! vo: Smiled, and said, "You Passed"! Come back tomorrow at 4:00 PM to pick up your visa! wife: Thank you sir! We went back the next day, and had no trouble! Have visa in hand, and coming back to America on Friday!!!!
  11. Earrings! Yes that is the perfect Valentines gift! Maybe it can be a late gift after we get back to the states! Then we won't have to claim it through customs!
  12. Hey Phil! Very happy to hear that you, and Jiening made it home safe! Sorry to hear of your minor problems getting out of China! Now you can settle down, and let things get back to normal if there is such a thing! It was great meeting you two in Nanning last week! My wife said Jiening really helped her with the interview stuff speaking to her in Chinese, and not English translated! Hope our interview goes well next week as well! We wish you the best of happiness! Ken & Shaoyun
  13. You mean to tell me there is more than one??? I just gave my wife 3 dozen roses today here in Nanning, and she was very happy! She knew just what today was when I gave them to her!
