Coronavirus/COVID in the U. S. & Elsewhere

This is interesting, regardless of how far out you may think the idea is, and not his usual pro-China wingnut's self. It's actually pretty well thought through, points out potential flaws in the theory, and doesn't jump to any conclusions. Give it a listen, if you have 18 mins. to spare for a (usually) pro-China wingnut.

Nathan Rich - did COVID 19 come from the US?

DISCLAIMER: Nathan Rich is usually thought of as a paid shill for the CCP.

Yes - Nathan Rich is someone we probably DON'T want to cover here, but he's a fairly serious blogger. ALL of his videos are demonitized on YouTube, which he indicates with a red X in the title. He is on a par with China Uncensored, but decidedly PRO China. He has his own site where he provides more content and allows donations.

t's just a timeline without the evidence needed to connect the events. It would need to go unnoticed in the US, and then morph into something much more contagious once it reached Wuhan. Like he says, it's very unlikely that anyone would look into that. In any event, it became what it is only AFTER reaching Wuhan. Any outbreak in the US prior to that would have had to simply fizzle out for his scenario to have developed as per his suggestion.

Wait, "Scientology critic"?

I'm warming up to him a little now.

I think it was race-baiting but I also think it was deserved payback for the ccp saying the U. S. owed them an explanation for where it came from. Even though the U. S. is about to get slammed and numbers are down in China, it will probably boomerang and flare up again - esp in China. So people should chill out.

Why would the ccp permanently ban wild animal markets if the virus didn't come from there?

He wrote a book about how his family forced him to join and he eventually escaped.

They would ban wild meat markets because it's stupid to have them.

That picture of Donald Trump's speech prompt is apparently real. That is, he apparently DID replace the word 'corona' with the word 'Chinese' with his Sharpie.

The governor here in NV has required nonessential businesses to shut down for 30 days. That includes casinos, which means my idea of just walking over to the neighborhood casino and taking a s...t, if we run out of toilet paper is no longer feasible. My wife, of course, brought that to my attention. I told her that if we ran out of tp she could always use the Chinese newspapers she brings home from Chinatown. She was appalled at that suggestion. I informed her that newspapers and pages of catalogs, like Sears and Montgomery Ward, were used not that long ago in lieu of tp. I also pointed out that it wasn't that long ago when there weren't that many homes that had indoor plumbing that included toilets. I remember my grandfather's house on the outskirts of Columbus, OH had a pump handle for water in the house, and an outhouse outside to do your business in. That was in the late 1950's. I told her she should expect getting toilet paper for her birthday and Christmas presents going forward.

Yep, you had to wad those nice slick shiny pages 3-4 times to make them soft enough and rough enough to get the job done. I told the wife that if we ran out I would cut some short sticks off of a dead Dogwood tree in the back yard for her to use. That didn't go well and got me on a goose chase to at least 8 stores looking for tp. I will learn to shut up someday I guess. :bullshit:

It did come from China, but at this point he is trying to distract from his own incompetence. Not too different from the tactics of the CCP. Birds of a feather.

A Chinese friend of mine told me about growing up with community toilets, how they used newspapers for to.

But they had to be VERY careful to always cut out any pictures of Chairman Mao before using it.

I remember those communal pit toilets in Beijing. You could locate them by the odour from blocks away. I can remember being ill and hoping I didn't pass out in one. I had my own toilet roll which you could buy at the friendship store.

This is the "reasonable" Nathan Rich -"just asking questions", instead of the raving CCP shill he usually appears to be. As you pointed out the virus would have to fizzle out in the States, which is totally unlike how the actual virus propagates. I dont think anything is gained by posting this nonsense. I did listen to most of it, but I wish I hadnt.

I called a few places this morning (Trader Joe's, Costco, local supermarket) to ask how crowded and well-stocked they were. Trader Joe's and Costco both had very long lines out the door, partly because they now limit the number of shoppers inside at any time. Went to the local supermarket for a booster run around 10am and it was pretty empty. An employee told me the store is beyond packed from 7am-10am when it's fully stocked, but quiet throughout the rest of the day.

Things that were sold out by 10am: cheap meat (chicken legs/thighs, cheaper cuts of pork and beef), frozen vegetables, hand sanitizer and toilet paper. No sales at all so it was a pricey run. Stocked up on several racks of ribs, various cuts of pork, and two whole chickens, and hot dogs. We're good for at least another week.

At this point my wife wants to make sure we have a 20-day supply of "good" food at all times (mostly meat in the freezer), and another 20 days of backup food (beans, peanut butter, nuts, etc.), in case shit hits the fan like in Italy.

Also, new house law implemented by my wife: everyone in the house jogs 30 minutes on the treadmill every day to strengthen the immune system and increase lung capacity :sweating_buckets:

Everybody jogs on the treadmill, even the kids? I kind of like it, but why not go outside?
