This is China’s first world-class hiking trail. Following ancient paths used by villagers for centuries, it reveals a rarely seen side of the country.

According to the BBC, the Chinese government has called on local tourism officials to conduct “comprehensive safety assessments” of glass structures. But ECNS reports that Hebei has been the first to introduce “regional requirements on construction materials, design and visitor numbers” amid “a lack of national standards and supervision over such facilities.”

Even though we were short on time, we were determined to do the Huashan Plank Walk. Busses, cable cars, long steep hikes and an impossibly slow line stood between us and the hike but somehow we still made it to our train in time! Hope you have fun joining us as we do one of the deadliest hikes in the world.

Now this is the kind of China that I want to see if I ever get to go back. Not the glass and steel sky scrapers of Beijing. I know that the wife would never go to a town like this. Might just get her hands dirty a tiny bit or maybe a couple of germs on her.

WHO'S DESIGNING FOR MODERN CHINA?

GRACE CHEN said:

“I used to think I was creating an “East-meets-West” style. But now I see more clearly. I think women all over the world are the same. They are both vulnerable and powerful at the same time. They desire to be both loved and respected. Our customers call us “the designer who understands women best.” My aim is to unleash the power of femininity, for women worldwide.”
