slw268
Went to replace my printer ink cartridges and the price was unbelievable ! I was thinking of just buying a new printer, but don't want to have the same ole' problem. Best way to go? Refilling the old cartridges is not an option. Zhou Zhou
Pen and paper, write down everything. No need to print. There are some "off brand" printer ink that's more economical than the "HP" or Cannon, etc...
Sam and Fen
Pen and paper, write down everything. No need to print. Jokes apart.Look at Ebay. A lot of times buying a new printer is cheaper then buying new ink cartridges.Printer companies will sometimes have good deals on printers, the thinking there being they will make it up in the cartridge business. dnoblett
Hated the ink carts, so switched to Laser Printer. The toner carts for laser printer are pricey too, however I simply modified a toner cart and refill it with bulk toner which is CHEAP!!!

HelloWorld08
kodak printer is good for color and black, if you are mainly printing black, then laser would be a better option...
slw268
Sounds like laser might be the way to go.Need to check prices.
Smitty
Newer laser printers are cheap! However, I haven't seen any that have Postscript, which may or may not be important to you. Then again, I'm fairly sure I'll be using this LaserWriter till they pry it from my cold dead hands, so I'm not really looking for a printer. With inkjets, it really does seem like the pricing model is that it's cheaper to get a new printer rather than buying a cartridge.

chilton747
Sounds like laser might be the way to go.Need to check prices. I think you are right. There are ink jet printers with cheaper cartridges like my Canon Pixma.......$8-$9 for the black but it has the usual problem found with ink cartridges.......they dry up after sitting for awhile. Also when it looks like you are running out of ink, you can remove the cartridge and shake it. This will get you several more pages of print.
