  1. Just recieved Hoyt's book about the U-Boat offshore. Can't wait to start it. Working on a set of books about the Vietnam war first.
  2. Love history. Started with WWI and now working on Nam. (Good golly Tsap!) I can not remember any mention, maybe a tiny bit, about this here subject. Ordered the book, can't wait.
  3. Well Carl I'm back. Perhaps it was all the true cofessions of struggles with addiction, My ultimate plan for Portland is to get a job as a D&A counselor. I wanted to make it out in spring, but life is what gets in the way when you make plans. I am working on a plan, lets see how it goes. Hope your health is improving. I would like to become a fixture here again if I don't get hasseked about things beyond my control. As there are a few here who really understand teh troubles of muti-cultural marrages - especislly with Chinese. Also looking at your work is an inspiration to work with you. Take careand best regards. Steve
  4. If memory serves me correctly, this was brought up before and the end result was no visa. If a person has sufficient assets in China to satisfy the VO that they would return to China then best not to say anything else. Interesting. Though, that makes sense on the idea of saying as little as possible to get the visa. I think that if one would apply under medical necessity it would open up a whole new can of financial worms. Anyways, we are in the process of converting our shops to bar code technology and Meimei wants to wait to Chinese New Year to come over. Of course it's useless to argue or point out that her symptoms spell major kidney disease. But . . . I thanks you all anyway.
  5. I agree, even though it's one of the reasons it's best left unsaid. Thanks Carl
  6. My MeiMei sister in law is very sick. She apparently has kidney disease. Course the Docs there say it doesn't matter and NEXT! We want to try to get her a visitors visa. She has plenty of money, family and owns our shops in China, so as for returning I think that's enough proof. We have the room for her here. http://i53.tinypic.com/28tlbb.jpg I am very close to MeiMei and since I almost lost my wife to the medical system in China, I am deeply worried. Need some guidance, please.
  7. Let me know when yer home.
  8. Yeah. Now that's what I'm talkin about. Maybe, if I can't do it, I could always send a thumb-drive through the mail. But when the word gets out everybody will want one and then I'll end up further in debt. Then I'll become famous and start indulging in all sorts of bad behavior and end up all bloated and living in a dumpster because I got caught with twin cheerleaders in a lewd position and on and on! Sheesh, I knew this would be difficult. Frickin' computers!
  9. Now Randy, I hope you didn't take offense. How could you even think that? Love and man-crush kisses, Steve
  10. That's all!!! That's it???? Frickin' thread didn't even require a decent response. Man, I am such a maroon
  11. I've had mine since around '94 and I play a lot. Only a few minor scratches. Course, nobody is allowed to touch it! Except this one guy who worked in a music store in Fouzhou, he did some neck work on it. Plays like silk now. I liked that guy. But nobody else! Well maybe one or two close musician friends, But that's it! Wow! Since '94. Spanning two centuries. Solid ax.
  12. The seed has been planted. Now let's just see how much, ahem, fertilizer I need to, uh . . . spread.
  13. I would like to send an email, or maybe PM it here, or both, of my music. If I record it using Mac Garage Band what would be the way to do this? Keep in mind my computer abilities are somewhere between a block of government cheese and a Commodore 64. Thank you, thank you very much. B)
  14. Thanks Carl. I am a very sensitive to music and vibrations. I also appreciate woodworking. I'd like to give it a try. The finish on mine doesn't show very well in this pic. It is not glossy, except where my elbow has polished it. I've never seen one without a finish before.
  15. This is my guitar. Martin DC 15E Mahogany top. Smaller model but plays good http://i55.tinypic.com/35n9aaf.jpg Probably could be better focused
