The Phoenix, has more than places that one thinks of, places like the MeKong in Mesa (Main and dDobson), Lee Lee's (Dobson and Warner) in Chandler to name a few.

I have heard of plans by both the Super L Ranch Market and Lee Lee's Oriental Market and they both want to build 2 new stores, Super l Ranch Market wants one in Chandler and where the other will be is unknown right now.

Chinese Pop. is around 20K

Moving this to the grocery store thread.

The Chinatown thread is about large concentrated Chinese communities, typically a street or neighborhood with many Chinese shops selling more than just food.

This is much better than the other place I previously posted:

Their selection is twice as much as the link directly above. Their prices seem to be a little cheaper too. My wife left the store completely giddy, comforted that she can easily find what she needs to make our American home, home.

I guess it would be hoping for a little too much to have something on the south side of Dallas or Arlington?

Went to both of these yesterday. If anyone is interested, May Hao is a Vietnamese market - close, but not quite what she was looking for, & Hong Kong Market is really just a warehouse. We'll try going way up north to yankee land (Dallas) and give more intell then. Thanks again for your post

Sounds like Lee's Oriental Food here in Rochester, NY, Lee's a warehouse style store, Asia Food in Rochester is like a modern Supermarket.

Yep you need to go through the list and visit stores until you find one that makes your honey happy.

99 Ranch Market

131 Spring Creek Parkway

Plano, 75023

We went there today. Almost an hour drive but worth every mile. We hit the motha load with this one. Everyone spoke Mandarin & had everything she was looking for including chicken heads & feet. We both felt as if we were back in Beijing. There are five other markets in the Dallas area we have yet to try, but the 99 Ranch Market will be tough to beat. Thank you so much for lighting up our day with your post, Chen & Steve

NY is really easy for us, China Town and even closer, Flushing, have a lot of Asian markets. It feels like being in China when we go there, the way the markets are set up. But when we don't feel like driving to that area, if anyone is from Long Island, NY. H&Y is in Plainview, NY, it is a Korean market, but has all Asian brand names and the prices are so cheap. I can walk in and come out with 8 to 10 bags packed with all vegetables and fruit. If I go to Stop & Shop, I would come out with 4 bags for the same price. My wife really likes H&Y, they have most of the vegetables that you wouldn't find in an American supermarket, but they do lack in some Chinese products, mostly Soy Sauce and vinegar, but the Korean brands are very good as well in that area. The most important piece was finding all the great vegetables that we would eat in China, which H&Y has and feels 100% organic, straight from the farm. Although we still buy our meat, which is rare because we are borderline vegetarian, from Whole Foods. My wife and I don't eat snacks so I can't say if this market would have all those snacks that one could find in China, but they do have a great bakery next to it which makes some very warming treats that make you feel you walked into the bread store in Shanghai, haha.

Our last piece of the puzzle is to find is a dumpling and noodle maker!, lol we both really miss walking into town and getting fresh made dumpling wraps and pulled noodles to cook with. Our next mission!, because making them ourselves is an all day event, and working half the day doesn't give us the time : (.
