What a nightmare P3 still at customs

Recommended Posts

January 12th our paperwork left NVC...May 11th P-3 in my girlfriend's hands= 118 days. And to top it off, DOS told me that in late April the application was entered into GUZ's computer. I waited a week and out of curiosity called the DOS again...LOL...they told me the P-3 was sent out the same day that a week previously they had told me the case was entered onto GUZ's computer. Go figure, ya really think the P3 was sent out the same day the case was entered?

Michael, it will just happen when it happens, sorry I can't give ya better news. You will find that you can really trust next to nothing you hear from the DOS or the Consulate, either about timelines or anything else...you can only trust what your lady has in her hand.

I can only hope, I'm sure it's a very optimistical hope, that we'll hear something from "Miss Wiz" in as little as 118 days about our open ended "90 day" blue slip.

Good luck Michael, and the rest in line, you'll be at the next step of the dance soon.

Um...

I don't mean to be picky. But I actually feel much worse after posting this. (Not usually the case here). It seems like everyone who answered had nvc to p3 times of about 2 and a half months. Except David and Wendy. I'm going on 3 and a half months now (but I haven't even heard that the consulate has received my file, which means even after that it will be about 2 weeks before it gets mailed out). Also, the post took a turn and everyone seemed to start talking about their estimated p3-p4 and p4-interview dates. I'm still waiting for any info about my p3. Feeling more isolated than ever.

Pha,

You're just about one month to the day ahead of me. My P2 was 6/29 and mailed to China on 7/25. While I empathize with you on the wait times, I sure hope both our P3's come very soon!! So far, every email and phone call to GUZ and DOS says that they have not received my case, even though one call back in Sep to ACS in China told me it was in the computer :cheering: .

Hang in there brother! All will be revealed!

There is no rhyme or reason to the various delays some people have in this process.

I can tell you that once your loved one arrives the pain and frustration from waiting soon becomes a distant memory, because you will be too busy with life together.

Jeez I hope so, I think its just frustrating as it seems we are just a file to them, not real people. They seem completly indifferent to improving the system and for some strange reason seem to think that leaving petitions in boxes at USCIS for months or in warehouse in China for months is in someway a acceptable way to treat people. Somehow I believe if came in to my ED with chest pain,or after a big car crash, or a stroke, they would expect a bit better service. It is not that hard to collect and crunch data. They are getting big money from fees and taxes, time to vamp up their systems I think. IMHO

Pha,

I'm in the same boat. According to DOS, our K1 paper work was forwarded to Guangzhou on June 25. Guangzhou has still not received it. I know of one other person in the exact same situation so you are not alone. All we can do is wait it out.

Look at the bright side, at least you didn't get stuck at the NVC for 5 months like we did.

Think of it this way Rob. You and your fellow nurses and doctors (let's say a total staff of 15) suddenly have 10,000 patients come in all at one time because a big bomb blew up in a football stadium. 15 staff accommodating 10,000 patients, all of whom think their own case is the most important. What can you do? Even if you triage, you still have 10,000 people waiting in line.

That, in essence, is USCIS and GUZ. So many applicants and petitioners, so little resources to handle them all.

Nevertheless, I understand what you're saying. We've ALL been through this before. Every single one of us had to wait. Some a little longer than others, but we all had to wait. We all bitched as well. :P

Eventually, you'll have your SO by your side and then it'll all be a passing memory.

Maybe it's like giving birth. :) It's unbearable at the time, but afterwards one looks back with fond memories of the pain. :D

That's great, Pha! Our files must have been in the same box, because we got ours too!

So ... anyone have an idea as to what the inteview schedule is like? The K1 gals told my fiance that December dates are already filling up... That would mean our interview could be sometime in Feb/March ...ugh.
