tonyuab Posted May 20, 2003 Report Share Posted May 20, 2003 Hi, everyone, i am so glad to find this site today. i read many posts today and seems like most of you already know your name check status. i didn't hear anything after my wife mailed her package #3 to the consulate. what should i do to check the name check status? thank you so much for your help and wish everyone luck here. chinadave2001 Posted May 20, 2003 Report Share Posted May 20, 2003 Call DOS at 1-202-663-1225, hit 1 then 0 then wait an hour or more - then give your GUZ# to the operator and she'll tell your status. Ours took two months from submission from GZ.....that seems to be about average these days if there are no "hits" on your name, causing you to be put "on hold" for several more months. To see if GZ has submitted your fiancee's name for a name check yet, you need to call DOS at (202) 663-1225. Bypass the recording by press 1, then 0, and it will put you in the waiting queue. Expect to wait 30 minutes to an hour before a visa specialist helps you. JC Link to comment

tonyuab Posted May 24, 2003 Author Report Share Posted May 24, 2003 thanks for all your kind help. i call dos and it took a little over 2 hrs before the visa specialist answered my call. she told me my wife's name's check was cleared on May 9. i just updated my time line. now, waiting for the p4 and interview date... thanks again for all your help.
