COngratulations JC

Hi all, My fiancee is coming through SFO in about 2 weeks and I cannot recall if it has a NEW IMMIGRATION line at customs. If not then she has to line up at the VISITOR line. Does anyone that has gone through it recently remember? It is her first time flying and I want to give her as much details as possible. Then it would be easier for her and make it less nerve-wrecking. JC

I sent the video tape that the VO requested thru USPS Global EMS and it took 7 days to arrive. The good thing is that you can track it online at the usps.gov website. JC

Happy B-day Don. I know it is not the same without your loved one next to you but enjoy it all the same JC -
Hi all, I have not posted in CFL for awhile. My grandmother passed away several weeks ago and I have been busy with my family taking care of her arrangements. However, I wanted to let everyone know that my fiancee finally received her K-1 visa. As some of you remember, the GZ Officer asked me to send in the tape of me speaking Cantonese. I guess that along with a notorized letter explaining our relationship, letter of intent, and Affidavit of relationship signed by friends/family did the trick. I want to thank everyone here especially Don and all the "march-holers" in the forum for all the help and support. I guess the next step is getting her over here and starting the battle with the government again with her AOS. JC

Visa not issued :(
jameschun321 replied to jameschun321's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
HI all, As always, thanks for your support. I made the tape and shipped it today. Hopefully, it will get there in good time. I just made the tape in ntsc format because I have no clue on how to make the video in PAL format. I am assuming they know the video is coming from the US and have a way to show it on their VCR. If the tape doesn't get my fiancee the visa, I will fly my butt over there and demand it. I am hoping it does not come to that. JC -
Hi all, My fiancee went to her interview today and came away empty :D I need to make a 5 minute video in Cantonese to prove I speak it. Going to make it tomorrow and mail it quick. Everything was going so well and then this comes up. JC

Interview evidence
jameschun321 replied to chinadave2001's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
Hi all, My fiancee has her interview next month and all this talk about the interview evidence is making me nervous. I am not going to make it for her interview and that is starting to worry me. I am going to tell her to bring everything. Photos: I have been to China 3 times and over 150 pictures including the studio wedding ones Phone: Like ChinaDave I use phone cards so that will have to do Letters: I wrote alot of letters to her in English but very few emails. I have given her all the original boarding passes and copies of the pages of my passport with the visa and stamps on them. My fiancee's English is very limited. She can read it alright but hearing or speaking is another story. We communicate using Cantonese (but I am unable to read or write it) so I hope the interviewer believes that. I have mailed my fiancee a sealed letter to give to the interviewer stating that I can speak Cantonese. I have a feeling that would be the hardest part and also if the interviewer asks the questions in English then it will be tougher. My fiancee knows everything about me and my family but comprehening the questions is the big thing. Let's hope all that is enough JC -
K-1 fee question
jameschun321 replied to jameschun321's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
Thanks Don -
Hi all, I am a little confused with the K-1 fee. On my fiance's P4, one of the forms mentioned an immigration fee for $2881 RMB. I thought the fee was for $830 RMB. Can someone confirm this fee for me? Thanks a mil. JC

Got an interview date too (woohoo)
jameschun321 replied to jameschun321's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
Hi All, Just wanted to add that my fiancee received her P4 yesterday For some reason it was sent by slow mail instead of EMS. Maybe it is because she lives so close To GZ (she lives in Kaiping, around 1.5 hours bus ride away) The puzzle is getting closer to being completed. Thank you all for your support. JC
