thanks R2D2. We were really fortunate not to have run into glitches along the way and got the whole K3 thing done under 8 months.. not too shabby... Now, the AOS and EAD, SSN, Driver's licence episode will set in motion...

Wife just passed her interview and will pick her visa up monday afternoon...Yeeeeehahhahhahah... all this waiting and suspense is finally over... It was a breeze and the VO asked very few questions... She will be here in 2 weeks.. Good luck everyone.....

Thanks, Don.. Yeah, my wife has got everything done, including the medicals.. It is a breeze in BJ and the staff seems to be very knowledgable about her procedures. A friend of my wife's helped pay the fee in Shenzhen.. Just FYI, you can pretty much pay the fee any where in China at Citic bank.. The info in the P3 is old, really old... My wife called GZ and that's what they told her... I won't be able to go with her, but I am pretty confident that we are adequately prepared.....

We just received P4 after calling GZ.. They are very prompt so if you believe your P4 is lost in the mail, call GZ right away and they will send it out in EMS..... Monday is our interviewe date....Fingers crossed....

Good luck on the interview!!! We still haven't received P4 and my wife called GZ this afternoon and they will send another one. But, we are not really counting on it so probably will have to pick it up before the interview.

Is this happening very frequently now? Seems that a lot of people didn't receive their P4 on time and had to pick it up in GZ? My wife's interview is also coming up in a little over 2 weeks. This makes me worried since she has just booked a flight to GZ the day before the interview and her interview is on a monday. Really bad....

Hi, guys. I was just trying to fill this form with my wife over the phone and encountered several questions. First of all, DS-156 is for non-immigrant purposes and, therefore, many of the questions are award for K3 visas. 1) For the chinese telegraph code, I have heard that you really don't need to fill it and N/A will do. Is this the case? 2) Question 19. The purpose of your trip? Should we say K3 visa or do you have any other recommendations? 3) Question 22. how long do you intend to say in the US? Since my wife is on K3 and she can stay for 2 years and will get her green card and can stay indefinitly, it is kind of tricky to answer this one. Thanks a lot in advance.

In fact I called DOS last friday and it wasn't cleared then. So it was probably clear either on Monday or Tuesday, just shy of 2 months after submission of name check...

Great news.. Harty just returned my email and confirmed that the interview is set for July 7th, less than 3 weeks away. We still haven't received P4 and have yet to confirm with GZ... Can anyone tell me usually how many days before the interviewe people usually receive P4. Thanks and good luck to all who are still waiting!

"For anyone filing at NSC or TSC, a K-3 may be much faster" Don, Don't all I-129F (Both K1 and K3) go to Chicago, then Missouri. What do you mean if you file at NSC or TSC? You only file for CR-1 or IR-1 at these regional offices. All I-129F go to the same place. Am I missing sth? Jerry

Don and Tom, I am glad that you think K3 is getting the priority it deserves. But, this is all speculation by us. I could have just been lucky. Plus, I don't think we are extremely fast. I have seen many K1s on 001.com.cn that are as fast, if not faster than ours. Cheers! Jerry

Guys, The reply does say that they checked with GZ and our wives name checks were submitted. Has anyone confirmed this with live operators either in GZ or with DOS or NVC later. I called DOS right after getting this reply and the person did tell me my wife's name check was submitted. Just want to make sure that they did check into it although it is a standard reply. Of course, if they did check with their database, I am fine with standard reply. Jerry
