Jason+Joanna
Whats next ? Wait for the offical notice in the mail, I know. Do I need to take this to the SS office, so she can get a SSC with out the little notice about only authorized to work with EAD ? I know I need to take it to the DMV, so she can get a CA DL (or ID). Anything else I am forgetting ? Link to comment

frank1538
That's great news. If I recall, you'll get the approval notice in the mail, followed by the Welcome to America letter, followed by the actual green card. Absent some issue with namechecks or biometrics, the green card comes rather quickly, usually within a couple of weeks. Your mileage may vary. Link to comment
pkfops
The SSC is very interesting. We've applied twice and the card has never showed up. I would not be surprised if it shows up in the mail afterour case is approved. If not, we will go in for #3. But you can relax now since your wife has a "status".I've found that once the date on the entry card has passed, you seem to go into a zero (illegal?) status. Link to comment
Jason+Joanna
We got the Notice of Action in the mail today. So, I guess now we just sit tight until the green card arrives. Link to comment
cosmiclobster
Congrats Jason and Joanna!!!!I predict you will get the Green Card within 1 week!It is a pretty fancy hi tech card, by the way, with her photo, fingerprint, her signature, a bunch of official looking emblems and lazer etching on the front and mag stripe on the back!It has a little green stripe on the back also - I guess they got too many questions about why the green card wasn't a green card!
