susieq
I was told that my k1 case was forward to GZ on 9/26,and now it's 11/3. I check the DHL everyday and i found out that this package sent from NVC to GZ on 9/26 whose status is now still as the same as it was on 9/30 which is "on hand". I also checked some other packages such as the one which was sent from NVC to GZ on 10/20, and it has already been signed by US consulate in GZ. But does anybody know if it is a normal situation? It's a 8 lbs package and if it is 'really' heavy as they think which would probably take time to be cleared at the custom, but why it still is the 'on hand' status after 9/30 when the package arrived at the DHL facility site..? How long will this take for them to process this 8 lbs document package further to say..at least "at gateway"?? And if that package status keeps still as "on hand",i guess i wouldnt be able to get my P3 even by the end of this DEC...That sucks! Now i just wish that my case was not so called 'being sent to GZ' on 9/26 by NVC;( Link to comment
notrevorich
It is not unusual for this to happen and it may be there at the GUZYou may want to cal the DOS and see if they know anything That's what I did it's still free and they tend to respond better the the GUZ - which now will not even respond because you have not been given an interview date Link to comment
HanLi
"On Hand" = denied clearance, or in other words, in Chinese customs... same as me........ Link to comment

GUZ still hasnt recieved mine. I also checked DHL, and there are 17 articles that were from NVC sent end of july. STILL at their gateway. Again, whats strange is that those 17 articles weigh 398lbs! PS. GUZ people told me that it takes anywhere from 2 to 4 months. To recieve the packages.. Edited November 3, 2005 by tall4anasian (see edit history) Link to comment
susieq
OMG!! Is that what it is???!! I feel so sorry about some of you guys' similar situations too:( Also I did remembered that I called DOS four days ago,but it didnt seem to be helpful, the operator just told me that she didnt think that GZ had physically got that package yet.and from her tune,i just figured that she wouldnt have any idea about the problems that usually happen at DHL anyway. 'On Hand'=denied clearance?? is that real?? what made it a denied clearance???That's too terrible..i was told that it usually takes 1.5-2 months for one to get P3,and now 2-4months???!! Homeprincess
"on hand" just means a small step to the gateway. And after taking this small step, the package will be transferred to GZ.No big deal and no worry. Common practice and terms. Link to comment
