Her interview was on March 30th. In the morning. We arrived at the consulate 7:30 am. And there was already a decent size line. At 8:30 am, the outside security guards check your passports and the interview letter, and then gives you a numbered ticket. Then you can go in . My wife chose her interview in English. Even though we communicate in Chinese. The VO asked for our pictures, and asked what my email address was. The last thing that he asked was my current affadavit of support. My wife told me that the key to the interview is having full confidence. I guess the VO looks out for this. The interview was on a thur. So our visa was ready on sat. The China Post office opens at 9am sat. But we arrived there at 7:30 am. There was already a line outside. At 8:30 am, the security guard opens the door, so you can go in and grab a number. You know one of those numbers that the computer dispenses out. It was crazy though. People ran to that computer, and were pushing and shoving each other. I was very angry because we were one of the people up front. There was no order, courtesy whatsoever. Im not use to seeing this. If it was here in America, people would just be polite and get in line There is only 2 people at the China Post, handing out these EMS visa packages. So its kind of a slow process. So be ready and get there early. Anyhow, its good to be out of GZ, we are back in her hometown, and will be leaving to USA soon. respectfully, Lee Total time frame 1 year and 3 months. CR1

Hi, If your income is sufficient this will not really be needed. I will give details on mine, but I will just give copies of the payment docs from my property manager. I heard its pretty ghetto in GZ. Theres people trying to rob you and your papers after the interview. And wanting a ransome. Anyhow, im going to the interview with my wife. Thinking about wearing my backpack up front and having a small lock. You know lock the paperwork in the bag. And be ready to kick some a$$ if anyone messes with us. What are your experiences? Her name check only took 1 1/2 months. Her interview date is in middle of March. Such little time and notice. ANyhow How come some other people here are stuck in that " dreaded name check"? It doesnt make sense when people are in the name check process for 6 to 8 months. Total time for us is 1 year and 2 months. CR-1

need some opinions here. Do you guys/gals think that these name checks take soo long. Because 1. China is a communist state? 2. There are just too many people in China? I know in S. Korea and Taiwan. Name checks dont take long at all. Nor perhaps other DEMOCRATIC countries. Discuss.....

taishancom, BREAKING NEWS! I just checked DHL, and all those packages, sent July 18th. Have been delivered to GZ!! YES. ALL of them. No joke

"July 18 and it's almost 4 months now and we have not heard any word from the consulate. We called up their number and they just said that the case is not in the computer systems yet. Isn't all the computer " Im in the EXACT, situation that you are in. RIGHT NOW. Mine was sent end of july to. And its been ALMOST 4 months. GZ told me that they dont have my case. GZ told me that it takes 2 to 4 months. Well it will be 4 months, end of NOV. So no more excuses! I also checked DHL, there are 17 articles from NVC going to GZ. But its stuck at DHL's gateway. Maybe our packages are in there somewhere.. 398lbs of it. Keep me posted ....

Dont feel so bad. My package left NVC end of July, and its already nov. GUZ still hasnt recieved mine. I also checked DHL, and there are 17 articles that were from NVC sent end of july. STILL at their gateway. Again, whats strange is that those 17 articles weigh 398lbs! PS. GUZ people told me that it takes anywhere from 2 to 4 months. To recieve the packages..

Hi, I was looking at DHL's website and notice that there are alot of packages sent from NVC still at the gateway DHL. Since july of 2005!! Whats funny is that there are 17 articles from the NVC and the total weight is 398lbs!! Can some of our case packages be that heavy?? GZ still hasnt recieved my package. I think mine is somewhere in there. LOL
