awch
Our tickets are from Dalian-Incheon-Chicago.I'm assuming there won't be a problem for him to stay a few hours in the airport.. no visa or anything else needed right? Anyone have experience with this or solid info? Thanks... Link to comment
Trigg
He won't need anything extra as long as he doesn't leave the international airport. i've flown with layover in S. Korea and it is no problem. There are several chinese travelers there so he should'nt have anyproblem changing planes either. Edited August 17, 2005 by Trigg (see edit history) Link to comment
BuffaloPaul
I have stopped in many airports on the way to other countries. It is not a problem at all. I find it interesting how many little things we worry about in this process. Seems most of us are near paranoia about what might go wrong Link to comment
awch
I'm not worried about me having any problems, I've flown this same route by myself more than once... it's him, as a Chinese citizen, that I was wondering about..... are there different rules? I have no idea... Link to comment
LeeFisher3
While many countries require a visa for a Chinese citizen to enter most have transient visa policies when traveling on a US Visa en route to the US. This includes South Korea and Japan when making a connecting flight from China to the US. Edited August 18, 2005 by LeeFisher3 (see edit history) Link to comment

warpedbored
No problem. Bing layed over in Inchon Korea for 3 hours when she came here from China. Like Trigg said he just can't leave the international area. Link to comment
skibum
Reminds me of my day from hell. Shanghai-Puson-Inchon-SanFran-Denver-Dillon. Five terminals in one day! When we got to SF, we had to wait for the customs people to get there so we sat on the plane for half a hour. Link to comment
HanLi
don't leave the International area, or it could really complicate things Link to comment

Our flt to JFK was at 11am. No problem and if you look hard enough there is free internet booth. Boy, was that the spicest breakfast we ever had..... Link to comment
pkfops
No problem; the airport is a bit like HK. Just grab a few beers and head for the smoking lounge. I thought the security check line moved slower than average. Link to comment
