  1. Filling in Electronic Processing IR-5 for mom in-law green card. In the past(K1) we just had it ready and only brought to interview. Is this still the case or does the Police cert. have to be submitted electronically via P3 email now? thanks in advance
  2. Fire your lawyer. It seems like you are doing all the work anyway. "Looking for how you will pay for airline tickets" Are you kidding.... lol Combined all your savings amounts with statements to back it up. Does not matter if checking or savings. I think that is what your asking.
  3. I am on it.... Did anyone submit another copy of marriage cert? It seems rather redundant
  4. I am starting some research to immigrate or obtain some kind of visa for my wifes sister to US. Her sister is a college student, not married. My wife is on a green card now in US and if I am correct she needs to be a US citizen to apply for her sister? But the fact we are married can I be considered a direct relative now and me being a US citizen I can apply for her sister? Tourist visa -- I know their is a slim to none chance to get her here to visit on a tourist since she is a student and not married. thanks
  5. Hi, My wife and I have decided to start looking into a possible visa for her younger sister to relocate to US. After reading some of these posts I realize a tourist visa is an abosolute NO since she is young, single, not married, and still in college. And for the record would not return to China anytime soon. I am looking for a few good links to start some research on this topic.... I am assuming this would go under a regular US immigration visa IR for a sibling? thanks in advance
  6. My wife just left last week to visit her family in china. so far so good. She even transited through Hong Kong and no problems on entry. All she has is her chinese passport and green card for entry into US. Name must match passport.
  7. Congrads... That is a long time!!!! for the 2 year GC.
  8. Holy S#$T!!! Approval notice in the mail yesterday and today the green card.. I have not seen it yet but my wife called me at work... I guess all the junk I submitted with the AOS helped somehow.. what a relief....

  10. We got bounced for not having the 693 supp filled out. Shop around I called 5 before I found 1 who would do it without a full medical exam. good luck.... you are dealing with that fine line of crook and doctor in my opinion.
  11. My wife never really quit her job. She stopped for about a week after the temp K1 expired and became extremely bored... We went for her fingerprints that same week and they claimed "she was OK to work again since we are pending status and now have had fingerprints" OK... My wives local employer seemed to buy are legitimate excuse and just said "show us the EAD card when it arrives" Two weeks later we did and all was well.
  12. No church thing at all. There was one church in Guilin that was always closed anyway. It seemed kind of a novelity for Chinese people going to Church in the area we lived. Although, my students could sing "Slient Night" very well but had no idea what the lyrics meant.
  13. We arrived from HKG at 4am and slept in Inchon until about 8am. Our flt to JFK was at 11am. No problem and if you look hard enough there is free internet booth. Boy, was that the spicest breakfast we ever had.....
  14. EAD approval in today!!!!! Hua is so happy to get back to work..
  15. Still here but non-stop busy.....Buying cars, computer and job searching and still waiting for that dammed EAD card..... Sometimes I find myself thinking how much free time we had on our hands when I lived in China with her. I must have read a book every few weeks. Now I am struggling to keep renewing my ONE novel at the local library. I think I know where I am going to retire someday...
  16. Yeh... I would say 17 days is pretty fast. I hope this 2 to 3 month countdown does not start after the biometric fingerprinting date. It sounds like the I-765 eventually goes through the local office?
  17. Yes we did and they said 2 to 3 months (just like they all say) which is not out of range yet but this gap is ridiculous.
  18. I skipped finding a job thing until I arrived back in US (now)and I was working in China. That would be a tall order for me to cancel all and start over again. I hope you have a working Z visa... But if you are DCF it would make better sense. but to each his own and good luck....
  19. I am still waiting for my wife's ( I like the sound of that) EAD approval. I am a bit confused on where this processing is taking place. so correct me if I am wrong. We had her temp stamp at POE JFK and it just expired so were are eager to receive the official card and start working again. Employer said stop until you have the card. We mailed the I-765 along with the I-485 as you can see on my timeline. so the process dates I should be checking should be with 1. The national Benefits center MSC for the "I-765 mailed with AOS" status? 2. Our local office for the "I-485" status? We did have an RFE as you can see for the I-485. (quickly resolved also) Does anyone know if that would have an effect on the EAD timeline? I don't think it would Thanks in advance. John
  20. We got the EAD stamp at JFK and are still waiting for the dammed EAD card to come in for her. Her 3 month temp is expired... Don't hold your breath.... She decided to get a part time job at in a retail store but you may have to stop working if you don't get the EAD card in time as in our case right now.
  21. My wife received the temp stamp at JFK on arrival and she is presently working part time. Her stamp and K1 expires on May 30th. Her biometric fingerprinting is on the 31st Correct me if I am wrong but she does have to stop working after May 30th until she receives the official EAD card??? I hate these little time gaps of BS!!!!! Thanks for any help
  22. We are waiting for that one also. (EAD)
  23. I liked them and got really used to it. Personally, I don't like the sit down toilets in the west. Its amazing what one gets used to since I had trouble using a western toilet again when I first came back to USA. Now, I will not mention the vile bathrooms I haved visited in China. I just really miss the squat part....
  24. PUT a copy in with the with the I-485 submittal. I received and email last friday of a RFE and this was the reason stated today in the letter. However the good thing is now I have an offical form that is checked stating a "vaccination supp I-693 is needed" the other blank spot is for a "I-693 medical exam" I still say I would rather get a RFE during AOS than K1 anyday...
