Hi all, Just a quick question we wanted to get off our minds: My wife and applied for the CR1 through NVC from the states (using a stateside lockbox). Her interview in GZ is in 2 days. We were looking through all of the directions again and just want to make super sure (because it is very confusing) the following is true: If we chose to submit our documents electronically through NVC and had our interview scheduled through NVC, there is no need to send anything to GZ consulate directly through Citic bank before the interview. From the posts on this website, I figured out that sending documents through Citic was only for people doing a DCF, therefore not applicable to us. Correct? Sorry if we are being paranoid. We never received any instructions about Citic, but just don't want to have missed any important steps somehow. Many thanks! Gary

We have an approved CR1 case that is now at the NVC. The case number started with GUZ then several days later changed to a GZO prefix. The electronic process is quite confusing, and we're doing our best to muddle through it. We paid all the fees of course, but nothing is clear about what is happening. I submitted the financial paperwork to the NVC electronic address in PDF format, with the GZO bar code sheet from the NVC website on page one. The NVC acknowledged receipt several days later, and stated they were too busy dealing with terrorists and illegal aliens crossing the border to do anything more than say they would look at our financial paperwork later. The NVC website shows that the Applicant is to start the DS-260 first, however we did that a couple of weeks after submitting the financial paperwork. Can anyone here help clarify the process? Thanks in advance.

Well after completing ALL! this paper work and converting all papers to PDF. This is the error we now get when trying to sent to: nvcdocuments@state.gov This Fu***ing government we live in can just bit my ass. And this error: As i just said WTF! My POS 1000$ server i run for my home business could run The U.S. better than this crap. OK!! I'm done ranting now? Feel a little better: NOT! Been trying to sent all AOS and supporting documents to the NVC site and the error above is what i/we get. What has our world come to when you/we can't sent a simple email.

I submitted financial supporting and civil documents to NVC by email 3 days ago, but I have not received any comfirmation letter from NVC to notify me that they have received my documents. I do not receive emails to notify that the emails fail to be sent either. I am not sure whether or not I need to call NVC to ask?

As you might have known, before, if you want electronic processing with NVC, i.e. sending all documents thru email, you must first send NVC a "opt-in" email. NVC will then change your case number from "GUZ" to "GZO" and you go from there. Today, I just checked the NVC web page regarding document processing, see below: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Submit_documents.html#method1 It seems the language regarding "opt-in" is distinctively missing from the web page. Does this mean that you no longer need to send them the "opt-in" email anymore? You can just send them the document thru email, directly? Thanks.

We will soon be ready to summit all documents (I-864,tax transcripts and all supporting documents) Now per the NVC for scanning and sending of said documents. Notice it says ONE packet! Then it goes onto say. MUST BE BELOW 5MB The marriage cert alone is 5.76mb and is a PDF. How am i going to sent all these documents in ONE packet and keep them below 5mb?

Hello everyone, I think I am going to be a semi-regular here off and on until I can finish my cousin's apps. I have recently taken over handing his paperwork. The older gentleman who is supposed to be a veteran at this is too old and forgetful. NVC keeps sending back materials. Eventually, I would like to learn the whole process of how to apply. I am not sure how to begin since I am kind of confused and he does not know what happened exactly himself. That and he is a recent immigrant himself and my communication ability with him is limited meaning I speak Chinese at a very elementary level. So, he is applying for a visa. It has been green-lit I assume. NVC was processing under a GUZ number. The lastest emails he gave me from October show that there were a lot of problems with missing info on the I-864, Affidavit of support, along with other missing support documents. The directions are to send the documents via snail mail and use the included cover sheet with snail mail OR electronically which requires a subject line with the case number. The NVC website tells you to OPT-IN before sending files to them through pdf format. At this point, I have no idea if they chose Electronic Processing or not. The I-864 has a GZO number and a GUZ number in parentheses. The snail mail packet of documents sent are returned with a letter stating that this case is going through electronic processing now. All of the documents need to be scanned and submitted that way. So, piecing it together I assumed these things: 1. A GUZ number is converted to a GZO number when electronic processing is chosen. 2. You have to OPT-IN before you can start sending PDF files, even if you have chosen Electronic Processing. Is this about right? I have no idea and he doesnt know what happened and the old man who did it insists that they should still be mailing it in, even though his attempt the first time was sent back with directions to scan and email it. I stupidly scanned them and submitted them via email recently. But, I am guessing since I didn't OPT-IN and more than likely, they did not opt-in, that I need to: 1. Opt-in 2. Send them pdfs again. I hope someone who has done this process or going through can give me some hints on the steps needed. Thanks in advance.

Hi, Every Friend here. After a long 10 months wait and NBC for no reason sending my wife and kid's I130 to field office for judication, I received the notice from my local field USCIS office to have an interview with me. I just finished the interview and was told both cases are approved. The officer who interview me told me there was no extra notes on our cases and he didn't understand why the NBC took so long and why they didn't approve the case by themselves and sooner. When I filed my application, my daughter was only three month old, she is now 13 month old. I missed all the happy time being with her since she and my wife are still in China. Since I filed I130s myself (I checked with the USCIS field officer, there was no errors on our applications), I would like to have your help again to complete the Visa application process. I have a few questions for the Visa process: 1. My wife and daughter are living in Shanghai, even there is a consulate in Shanghai, their interviews will still be in Guangzhou, correct? 2. Is the efiling for the Visa still available for our cases? 3. I have not yet filed my 2013 tax return. I did obtained 2010-2012 tax transcript. It is obvious not enough time to get the tax transcript even I am filing now. Can I send in the 2013 tax filing without the IRS approval? 4. What kind of time frame currectly for getting the green card visa after the I130 approval? Thank you in advance!

Brought up a couple of times in the forums. http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2993.html#4 Over the past year or so USCIS has been tying the two petitions together and approving them at the same time, and sending both to NVC at the same time. The above statement by DOS makes sense, the whole reason the "Life-ACT" K-3 was developed was for the Spouse of US citizen to be able to enter the USA and WAIT for I-130 approval, at the time K-3 was developed the I-130 was taking a VERY long time to process through USCIS to approval, and the I-129F for non-immigrant fiance visa was fairly quick, so it was setup so that a spouse waiting for approval of their visa petition can be treated like a fiancee and come to the USA in about the same time as a fiancee. I guess all the extra fees paid to USCIS has actually resulted in some improvement in service, the I-130 no longer is taking years to approve so the K-3 is starting to become a thing of the past.[/url]

Quick question. I have everything all scanned and ready for sending via email to NVC for the supporting docs for the DS-260. Can I send multiple emails or does it have to be one email? I have several larger PDF files to send (photos, insurance papers, etc.). I know if I try to attach all of them and send them in one it probably won't send. Thoughts? Experience? THANKS!

Hi guys, I'm in a similar situation. I've been living/working in China for about a year now (have the official residence/work permit and all - Chinese GF and I met when we were both studying abroad in Europe). I'm planning to go back to the US in August (for more grad school), and am looking for the quickest way for us to get married and for her to get over to the US (I already have cosigners for the app, etc). It seems like the DCF would be the quickest, although would I still have to be in China after August? I read somewhere that if I do the DCF, I have to wait 5 years to marry an American green card holder? And also that it could take 6 months to 1.5 years for the green card through DCF? In that case, it seems like it would be best to file for K-1 / I-129F through the USCIS, etc. Also, just to make sure, when first submitting the I-129F, this requires lots of documentation (cover letter, ,etc), correct? Thanks a lot in advance ...

Sorry to stick my nose in here but had a question about the I-864. They finally got around to changing the LND to GUZ for my wife's daughters paperwork. So we'll pay the $230. My question is do I need to send in the I-864 now, or will NVC tell us when to do this. You said something about the P3. If you could clarify that would be great. THANKS!!

Hi there, Thanks, everyone, for your thoughtful replies to my previous posts! Here we go again... Just wondering if anyone has experience opting in for the Optional Electronic Processing when DCF-ing in GUZ? Details here: http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_5163.html Looks like by opting in, we can pay all fees / submit all docs electronically. I guess we would email the consulate (NVCElectronic@state.gov) to register BEFORE submitting the electronic DS-260s? I would *think* that scanning and emailing docs would be faster than processing stuff through CITIC, but I just wanted to check in with those on the board who may have tried it. Best, David

I've been living in China for the past 4 years, and finally moving back to the United States at the end of July. My Wife and I are at the stage where the case is at the NVS, and we've paid both the IV and Affidavit of Support fees, I also electronically returned the DS-230 to show my US address as the place that should be sent information in the future. Now I'm left with a few questions. 1. How long does it typically take from the time the fees are paid to the time when the P3 arrives? Both fees were paid by the middle of march, and I'm just trying to figure out time schedules. 2. Should I bring back the translated marriage certificate, police record, and birth certificate with me to the US, and have my wife fill out the other necessary forms and give them to me electronically? I'm thinking because they need to be sent to Vermont that it would be faster to send them from the US. 3. I've seen some varying times as to when the interview is scheduled from the time the P3 packet is received. Visa journey says it's an average of 85 days from when P3 is received, whereas this site seems to indicate 4-5 weeks. Is this time set from around the time the petitioner sends the package, or when the NVS enters the information into their system? Thanks for all the help and information! It's great to have a resource like this. EDIT: THIS IS FOR CR1

Now that I have my case number, I am starting this thread that will detail my EP experience with the NVC. I do so for the benefit of those who will follow me and would like to see a quick reference of what to do and what to expect. After I got my case number from the operator, I also asked for and received my IIN (invoice identification number). Once I had those two numbers, I confirmed with the operator that my AOS (Affidavit of Support) invoice would be emailed to me. I will send the actual OPTIN email to have the case converted from paper to electronic after I receive this invoice in my inbox. Now, you are able to send that OPTIN email once you have the GUZ case number, however, due to problems people have experienced sending in the OPTIN email prior to receiving the AOS invoice, I have made the decision to wait for the invoice in my inbox prior to sending the OPTIN email. Of note: When I was speaking with the operator in receiving my case number, the operator confirmed my email address and asked for my wife's email, I gave it to him; the only thing I would suggest is to tell your spouse that you will be telling the NVC their email address so they are not caught off guard when they start receiving emails from the NVC.In case you don't already know, you will be initially assigned a GUZ number followed by a set of number, when your case is converted from paper to electronic, the case number will change to GZO and have a new set of numbers.

I understand how it works (EP). My main concern is this (and it's twofold); firstly, I have a strong belief that the NVC may not receive all evidence from the initial submittal of the I-130. Secondly, I have a strong belief that if the NVC were to receive everything, personnel will take the time to scan everything into the system. I have already been told that doubling down with the frontloading (i.e. including evidence with the DS-230) could cause a delay at NVC. However, to ensure that a CO sees everything, this is something I'm willing to accept. I'm not willing to accept the possibility of having no evidence accompany the file. Granted, my wife will not be going to the Consulate empty handed, but I (and others here also) tell people all the time that the interview is not the place to submit evidence for the first time.

To view additional Information on K3 Processing, go here: http://candleforlove...showtopic=40925 ------------------------ Detailed write up can be found here: http://candleforlove...-ep-experience/ CR1 Processing NOTE: Electronic processing begins at NVC, NOT USCIS. The visa petition starts out normally by sending the initial petition (I-130 or I-129F) to USCIS (Chicago (I-130), Vermont/California (I-129F)) and only AFTER USCIS sends the approved petition (P2, NOA-2) to NVC will you opt into the electronic processing. Also electronic processing does NOT apply to I-130 filed DCF to the consulate or embassy in China. GUZ Speaks: http://candleforlove...showtopic=37514 GUZ website: http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/nv..._petitions.html http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_5163.html Eligibility PDF http://travel.state..../visa_4411.html Note: K-Visas should be automatically sent to Guangzhou using the electronic system, nothing should need to be done by petitioner to request this for K-Visas from NVC, but give NVC a call and ASK using "Wuhan4me's" sugestion below. GUZ Website: http://guangzhou.use...cn/iv_k1/k2.htm {Edit} Email address changed.

As I read the next steps, after NOA2 (still waiting) we are eligible for electronic filing. I have read and re-read most threads about this process. However, there is still confusion. As I read this I see two email addresses. one is Electronic Processing E-mail Address for Guangzhou: NVCGuangzhou@state.gov and the other is: NVCElectronic@state.gov. BUT: Reading on even more it says this: "If you decide to participate, you must send an e-mail to the Post-specific Electronic Processing email address referenced in the Eligibility PDF you previously read. When completing the e-mail:" In this Eligibility PDF, the PDF references the NVCGuangzhou@state.gov email address. So in my fits of confusion, which email address do we send to first? NVCElectronic@state.gov or NVCGuangzhou@state.gov ? Can some please clarify this for me? Thank You Dan

Hi, I heard about the new electronic processing option in NVC. I am a K-1 petitioner. First I read that the new pilot program is available for the other visas, then on this forum it says the K-Visas are automatcially enrolled, then I read someone here called NVC about it two weeks ago and were told that they are sending the case electronically to GuangZhou automatically. I called NVC last night to find out more. They told me the case will be sent via DHL, the old way. I am confused and hope that they would send files to GuangZhou via electronic means. Does anyone have any experience for K-1 visas regarding the new NVC pilot program? Thanks!

Was just reading the post about electronic processing and in the quote from USCIS K1 Fiance Visa is not included in the process, though at the bottom of post is says K Visa's will automatically be Sent to consulate. Does this mean the customs delay of 2-3 months no longer applies?
