  1. $1,200 for business calss??? roundtrip??? how did you manage that??
  2. I argued with my banker ans he looked up the law. we had her added to my checking account WITHOUT a SSN. These are NOT neccessary to show you are married for AOS purposes but do help. also, mail addressed to her at your address will help. I never added her to the utility bills or mortgage etc. had no problems
  3. OH yea Jim, there is definantly somethings you should be doing----but if you gotta ask!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. K1 remains K1 even after marriage. It also authorizes work for around 76 days after she/he comes to the US.
  5. Yea ya'lll, be nice to our californy brethren. I hold stock in a company that makes thongs for males and if the CA guys get mad---i lose money!!!!!!!

Ya'll Oregonianiters are a hard bunch to please!!!!!!!!!
  13. I-485 is for adjustment of status after she comes to america. Most K1s and K3's file this. Ths will get her the 'green card'. nothin' too worry about-it isn't all that bad and she will be here then anyway.
  14. That really sucks big time. Did they give you any reason as to why???
  15. Carl, i'm serious. I've gone to the local live stock auctions several times and bout lambs and goats. goat makes good BBQ and they're fun to kill (reading this Dan??)
  16. I'm gonna challenge Kim to find a local live stock auction. It's usually easy to find a nice fat gpat-maybe even a lamb but they are more expensive. A sharp knife and 45 minutes later we can start some real BBQ-southern style!! If he can't find one--Uhh, Dan, are you willing to take one for the team???
  17. Yea Frank but looking only a few feet down the road gives you an advantage. You get to see what your going to hit close up. Cosmo dude, you are indeed a brave man. My wife has yet to master the riding mower. One mile an hour, hunched over the wheel looking almost straight down at the font tire with a death grip that put tiny chinese fingerprints all over the steering column. Good luck, you are gonna need it me thinks.
  18. I think that I am sacrificing enough just by putting on clean socks and almost clean undies-damned if i'm gonna break out the good jeans too!!!
  19. http://uscis.gov/graphics/howdoi/remcond.htm A lawful permanent resident is given the privilege of living and working in the United States permanently. Your permanent residence status will be conditional if it is based on a marriage that was less than two years old on the day you were given permanent residence. You are given conditional resident status on the day you are lawfully admitted to the United States on an immigrant visa or receive adjustment of status. Your permanent resident status is conditional, because you must prove that you did not get married to evade the immigration laws of the United States. Thats what I said-I think???
  20. David, i rechecked my post using the soon to be released triggctionary and found that all words are correct and used in an appropriate mannor!! And I think that Don is considering a built-in Trigganslator for the new CFL site... Well I certainly hope so. If Triggenese is to be the official language of the Candle then the least we can do is provide translation until all the newbies learn how to properly disseminate important information using the written version (takes the brighter ones about three days-duller ones learn it in two).
  21. Got it i think. The two year green card (that clearly says 'permanent resident alien' on the top of the card0 expires in two years and resident alien staus also expires if not renewed but when the 10 year green card expires only the card expires but not the status of resident alien--Ya, that makes sense to me but why then does the two year card say 'PERMANENT resident alien'???
  22. David, i rechecked my post using the soon to be released triggctionary and found that all words are correct and used in an appropriate mannor!!
  23. First, a visa and a greencard are completely differrent things. the visa gives her the right to enter the US (actually it gives her the right to ask the immigration officer at the POE if she can enter the US). The 'Green card' is realy the permanent resident alien card. this gives her work pirveldges and allows her to stay in the US as well as travel in and out of the US. If you are bringing her here on a K1 visa (fiance') you will need to marry within 90 days then you will need to apply for AOS (Adjustment of staus) when granted this will give her two year visa. 90 days before tewo years are up you then apply for a10 year visa then apply every ten years after that. If you bring her over on a K3 there are some differences but I believe you still must apply for AOS and the subsequent green cards that go with all this.
