  1. Generally I'm very good at school. Most of the teachers like me. They invite me to their church, their home for Christmas and their classroom. They are curious with Chinese food. So I teach them how to cook potatoes in Chinese way. I also teach them to fry tomatoes with eggs. Last Christmas I got many gifts from the coworkers. My boss gave me 100 dollars. So I've never left the school. I'm doing the second contract. oh, in the beginning of my job, a man teacher was rude to me once. I yelled at him loudly. but soon we became good. At least he knows that I'm not to bully. best wishes
  2. Hi Friends, I didn't make it clear. They are "special" children in the special education. They are typically slow and reacting abnormal. that is why I was feeling shameful because I became "special" too. I pulled the girls to their normal teacher and blurted out my anger in front of their teacher's face. I yelled, "I'm grateful, because of you, I'm employed and because of you, I know what American children are like," I continued, "You should be grateful too. America borrowed millions of money from China, that's why you have food to eat today. That's why you are not starving." I guess their teachers were not comfortable with my remark. In the end, I gave my cup to the girl who offended me most. I said it was my Christmas gift to her in order to remind her of how to behave polite. The next day, the girl asked me math questions in the classroom as if nothing happened. I helped her with a smile. Like you guys said, "fighting builds friendship too". So I'm ashamed of myself. Other teachers may judge me.
  3. Merry Christmas to everyone! How is Catherine doing? She was fighting a whole day last Thursday. In the morning I called my leasing office to tell them that my kitchen sink was stuffed. I needed a plameI was using my brandnew cup drawing some circles for three 11-year-old girls on a table where we four sat. My cup was a gift from my principal months ago. I tagged my name on it. When I was helping, right to my face, two girls said, "This cup is from China, very dirty, China is dirty, yuck-----, this cup smells bad, yuck----" Hey, Guys, what would you feel if you were me at present? How do you respond at this silly saying? I should have controlled myself from losing temper but at the time with my emotional impulse, I yelled at them loudly. Later I felt very much shamed. They are children. I should not have taken the remark personally. Other teachers must judge me bad now. Then after I came back to my apartment, my kitchen was flooded. The leasing office ignored me completely. Again, I yelled. What do you do if it were you? None of the things will happen to you, I keep my fingers cross for you. Again I was ashamed of myself not being able to "pretend" to be a graceful lady. I heard, in America, if you offend someone, the person may take off your car wheels to revenge on you. Is that so? Xiexie for listening to me with your eyes. Catherine
  4. Allon!!! thank you very much for this advice. I think I'll go on clinging on school jobs. thank you again. Thank you Ronny for the new words and humors. English is not too difficult for me to learn but I can't get all the humors from Americans. My dictionary tells that possum means "pretend to die". Ronny, have you ever pretended to die besides being a female attendant? What does "Possum partying with clay" mean? Your link doesn't help.
  5. Yes, Wawster, I'm finally away from the iceworld. Now I'm glad to be baked in the big oven!
  6. That was really what I did on the way to school, walking in hip deep snow step by step in the darkness both in the morning and in late evening. As a child, I also liked to lick some metal fence on the street to see how cold it was. All children knew that the cold weather may well rip off our wet skin, either from our finger or the tongue. So I licked the fence long enough to melt it. Oh, Gosh, time flies! Can't go back anymore.
  7. haahhaha, hahahaa, I was following RobertH to tease TSAP but now I know more of TSAP! He used to wear a skirt serving on a plane! I trust every word he says! Thank you for being honest with us!! ahahahahah
  8. Yes, I also saw TSAP on my flight as serving passengers pizza I think a flight attendant has to work over night or over 24 hours successively. I don't stay up late, not to say work a whole night. I will take one day at a time and just be grateful. Enjoy your flight everyone! TSAP is serving very well there! But please know he is not a stewardESS
  9. Rawknee! My long time friend! Dennis! My first English teacher from Candle! Dnoblett! My Candle boss! Good to see you guys again! I will know what to do. thank you for taking the time for me! will see you guys again!
  10. I'm a little concerned with your life. Give yourself more time, and it won't hurt you! Best wishes!
  11. Amberjack!! How nice to talk to you again!! Thank you for your advice! I know what you mean now. btw, I have been safe, never been in a jail lol good night
  12. Hello everyone! How are you guys? I've been doing well. It's been 17 months since I was settled in America. I've been working for Tulsa Public School also over one year now. I feel I'm stronger and tougher. I drive better too. So I'm trying to move up but it's very difficult to get a position at a university. Some one told me that to work for an airport as a stewardess, I'll enjoy free tickets to travel all over the world, and that I can go back to China very easily. The payment is pretty good. I like to know your ideas about working as a stewardess. Is the challenge too much for me? I can't find the "Job column" so I am here at "asking a woman". But I'm asking American guys for help. thank you every one! Best wishes! Catherine
  13. Fiancee visa is meant to have three months to be ready for the wedding, not for the American guy to make a decision if he should marry her. Unfortunately some men may think "I'll send her back to China if we are not compatible, because it's conditional". That will become a big hurt or disaster to her. So better open your eyes large enough to see her before you bring her to America, be Cr1 or K1. best wishes to everyone! Catherine
  14. Happy Independent Day in American English. Happy National Day in Chinese English.
  15. Hello Danb, Nice to hear from you again! I remember you are from Tulsa! Time flies. I don't come here as often as I used to when I was in China. Now American life is a gift but also challenging. Thank you for recommending me Outlook. I used to have outlook, not now. Yes, outlook seems very neat and organized. I may try again. The weather is very hot these days. I'm glad that I'm finally away from cold weather. I would rather be baked in the big oven than going back to be frozen. Happy National Day to every one! Catherine
  16. I was asking two questions. One is the Internet warning saying I'm in danger which is, I now know, malware. My other question is how to block the mail advertisement coming into my physical mail box. How come, it seems everyone knows my name and my address. I'm scared of losing my identity. I met a jerk taxman before April 15. I can speak English but I found a Malaysian man who speaks Chinese. So I chose him as my taxman. His office looks decent and professional. Several weeks later, IRS sent me a letter to verify my identity. Those days were my black days. The taxman gave a wrong address to IRS. I tried different ways to verify myself but failed. It frightened me a lot. In the end I got help from a colleague friend. She took me to the IRS office and talked face to face. Later, I learned that the same taxman didn't report to IRS about tax for another Chinese restaurant owner. The owner was given a big fine of 150,000 dollars. That was several years ago. happy everyday!
  17. Thank you, Mr. Boss! I'm scared a lot. good night
  18. Hello everyone! Lately I often see such a notice on my computer. Has anyone also received such a message? Should I call according to the warning requirement? Please share. I'll appreciate it a lot! Do you have some way to block the advertisement to your mail box? I'm saying street mail to my physical box. have a good weekend everyone! Catherine
  19. Cheese in big grocery stores is not uncommon anymore in China. At small stores cheese is belonging to western food. I still have no idea about cheese. In US I can't tell the difference between the white cheese and yellow cheese. I know nothing of the different brands. I'm glad there're pure milk now in China! They must be more expensive than the domestic, "vanilla" milk lol
  20. I'm pretty sure that Chinese milk is added with something additional to please millions of stomachs. It's too bad and the milk has had some bad reputation for quite a few years. Randy is being sarcastic about "sugar or vanilla". I doubt those that are tagged "foreign milk" are really foreign? Aren't they becoming bad during the importing process? In the beginning of 2015 before I came to USA, I went to a local, grocery store to buy cheese. After I failed to see any in the counters, I asked a shop girl if they had cheese, which is, in Chinese, Nai Lao. The shop girl simply told me she didn't know what is Nai Lao. Then she asked another girl clerk what Nai Lao meant. The other shop girl gave me a same negative answer. To my surprise, none of them knew what Nai Lao was. I'm sure if it is in a big, super market like Walmart, Nai Lao is not a novelty. But this is China, the norther, present China. have a good weekend! everyone!
  21. Maybe this story is also a hoax. No one can hide the identity in the marriage relationship lol
  22. Who can tell who is me in the picture please lol ?
  23. The world largest, military trumpet is in China. It was used to propagate those who ran to Taiwan to come back "Home"
  24. You can't give money after the funeral day because the money is given only on the funeral day. You don't hope them having another death so you don't have any chances to make up the donation. The custom varies with different places in China.
