  1. Yes Mr. Thomas Promise, I've heard of something about Wal-Mart in USA, monoplizing the market among them. So sad. Hey, I'm glad, you guys Mick, Steve, Mike and Warpedbored like me stories and please allow me to use your first name. I'm still hoping some of you point out some langauge mistakes for me that I make when posting or relating my experiences. Here is the third story of mine : Horses don't understand my English in accent
  2. There is ice in all kinds of drinks and icebox, no matter we like or not.

  4. Hi you guys, we all went through some culture shock. Some of the silly moments are never-to--be-forgotten. Would you like to share some of yours? Laughter is the best medicine! Here is mine. I hope you like it and I also hope you point out some language mistakes for me while reading my Chinese accent. Have a good weekend!
  5. Danb, many years ago this type of bed in the north was popular both in the city and the countryside. Now only countryside uses Kang but their Kang mat is not woven cane or other grass material any more. They take use of plascitc flooring as Kang mat with beautiful patterns on. Here is the link to see the Kang pictures. In my writing of Kang, I should have added one more, "Kangs in no way promote a family privacy. Sometimes three geneations slept on one Kang one by one. More often than not, the father took the first place on the Kang, then the mother on the second position, the third one who was next to the mother was the youngest baby------ the far end of the Kang was the biggest child or the grandparent." http://image.baidu.com/i?tn=baiduimage&ipn=r&ct=201326592&cl=2&lm=-1&st=-1&fm=index&fr=&sf=1&fmq=&pv=&ic=0&nc=1&z=&se=1&showtab=0&fb=0&width=&height=&face=0&istype=2&ie=utf-8&word=%E7%82%95 Catherine Have a good day!

  8. Splinter!!!! Wow, that is another word for me, a gift for me, thank you Danb. But do you mean the whole sentence is "just off flow" or you are only not sure of Kang? Do you have a better way to polish the sentence into a better one please? Now what is Kang? let me paste the whole paragraph of "Kang." But please anyone, please let me know if there're some sentences that I should correct, I'll appreciate a lot!!
  9. Wonderful, I like this Doug!! This is what I meant, from the tip to the root with a sliver. Thank you!!
  10. Thank you Randy, yes, it was severe. I was describing an accident. I pricked my toenail with a spike from the beginning to the root of my toenial, which was the way of our Kang or bed, a true story. But I guess there was no blood flowing out or my mom could have found it. Thank you Randy! I just wanted to use some moving language to draw readers' tears out
  11. Hi my every professor! I believe that you're all my walking dictionaries to help me improve my English because as a Chinese I really need to learn more. I do appreciate all of you who come to this website. Today I wonder if someone could please help me make this little paragraph into a more dramatic way when I was describing my own story about our bed (Kang) in the past. Please help me to polish anywhere you think improper, esp, I want "baby crying from pain" more descripitive or vivid. Thank you everyone and have another wonderful day! ."
  12. Thomas Promise johnxiaoying and Doug, thanks to all of you for making our conversation hilarious!!
  13. I have an embarrassing day today. I called two men saying "Happy Father's Day". The second man was my brother who told me today was not Father's Day. Why should I be so stupid? I bet that is because I live in China by myself and as a senior professor, I only work ten hours a week. So most of the time I have no one to talk and i sometimes mix up the day. Once I went to church on Saturday believing it was Sunday. Heck, as long as we stay above the grass, everyday is a gift. Every day is Father's Day and every day is Mother's Day!! Please, everyone, laugh at my stupidity! If you laugh, you're receiving my gift. It's me who brings you laughter! Please hahahaahahhahha!!!
  14. I do love bringing laughter to this world and to everyone!

  16. The Resolution I do solemnly resolve before God to take full responsibility for myself, my wife and my children. I WILL love them, protect them, serve them, and teach them the word of God as the spiritual leader of my home. I WILL be faithful to my wife, to love and honor her, and be willing to lay down my life for her as Jesus Christ did for me. I WILL bless my children and teach them to love God with all of their hearts, all of their minds, and all of their strength. I WILL train them to honor authority and live responsibly. I WILL confront evil, pursue justice, and love mercy. I WILL pray for others and treat them with kindness, respect, and compassion. I WILL work diligently to provide for the needs of my family. I WILL forgive those who have wronged me and reconcile with those I have wronged. I WILL learn from my mistakes, repent of my sins, and walk with integrity as a man answerable to God. I WILL seek to honor God, be faithful to HIS church, obey HIS word, and do HIS will. I WILL courageously work with the strength God provides to fulfill this resolution for the rest of my life and for HIS glory. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. (Joshua 24:15)

  21. Hello everyone!!! It's Catherineli who is a new comer today. My Amercan friend has a question for you guys. He is a great musician who has never been to China but his passion to music is the strongest in the world. Lately he is invited to play the piano for some casino at Macau. He doesn't understand why he is informed that middle aged women in Macau like long haired men? He is being encouraged to save his hair as long as he can. Someone has been to Macau? share your opinion or suggestions please? Thank you very much!!
